  • This 1992 Foxbody Mustang GT convertible was "restored" by a shop that apparently knew what they were doing. The more time I spend with this car, the more I realize that the prior mentioned couldn't be anything further from the truth. On this episode we prepare a set of used trick flow valve covers to be installed, disassemble most of the interior, repair a lot of botched up wiring, and instal a ‪@DakotaDigitalTV‬ gauge cluster from ‪@latemodelrestoration‬

You know you're in for a fun time when you see household wire nuts 🤦‍♂️ this reminds me so much of my car. No nuts but cut wires, speaker wire everywhere and electrical tape with broken clips! I installed the foxlox on my car. I heard you mention it on the pod. I had issues I made a video if you're interested 😁

Love the video Gary! A realistic install. The wiring debacle you had to sort through made it worse than what it probably actually is to install the dash. But good job! 💯👊🏾👊🏾

Ho Lee Wire Nutsacks was there ! The ground connection made sense, but they need to be a bit more in depth, even for those with good electrical experience.

I would love to put my foot in the guys behind that did that to the wiring. Once you’re done that car will be super nice. Great job buddy.

What they really need is an interior upgrade kit for Fox body mustang's.

Summit Racing owns TickFlow, last I heard years ago. Even a few years ago, getting TrickFlow stuff was hit or miss

i love that digital gauge cluster... I just wish it would illuminate green when the headlights are on. That's the only reason I won't use it.

Yeah its more of a white light then green when illuminated

Why didn't you use the New Rad solutions wire harness it would've cut your install time in half? Also I highly recommend anyone planning to install one to also use the GPS speed module. You don't need to calibrate you're speed and it adjust for any rear gears or tire sizes. But still thanks for making this video to help the community with installs and advice.

Not sure if it’s true but I had a buddy who lives in a rural area give me a tip for mice. He said to put dryer sheets in the car because if the mice can’t smell themselves then they won’t set up shop. Maybe throw an ozone generator in there and follow up with dryer sheets?

The dash looks like a nice product but if a person has a nice condition, fully functional original cluster I fail to see the advantage or attraction in a scenario where a person would be “changing it for the sake of change”. That said, I realize this car had a 4-cylinder cluster that needed replaced so if you’re starting with nothing then this can make sense.
Good job removing all the superfluous wiring. That is, by far, the thing people butcher the most in any kind of hobby car.

What kind of an ape? Lol😅. I just recently put un a dakota rtx. Also had to rewire the light and flasher harnesses. If you have flashers that dont work look for a blue flasher mid way behind the heater. Mine had melted. What a PITA.

Just as an fyi they make a plug and play kit to install the cluster…..not sure why u didn’t use that u always seem to do things the hard way.

A true rats nest, one actual rodents removed and the other huge nest of wires your having to deal
with, my patients would by fried by that disaster that someone created. Great job on the digital
dash, pretty cool upgrade for the old dash cluster.
