  • Guitar: 1969 Jose Ramirez, ex Segovia (www.guitarsalo...)
Here's Evan Hirschelman playing his piece "Unfeathered As We Are" on the 1969 Jose Ramirez that Andres Segovia owned and played for 11 years. Recorded at the Guitar Salon International showroom in Santa Monica, CA.
Huge thanks to the folks at Apogee Electronics (ApogeeDigital.com) for the use of their Ensemble interface in these recordings.

Evan was my guitar professor at East Los Angeles College a few years ago. It was one of the coolest classes I ever had in my entire collegiate career. Not only was her an extremely down to earth, funny, patient, kind and cool man, but he was phenomenal at explaining things to us kiddos that initially had no clue how to even hold a guitar, lol. During the course, we learned some elementary things required for the road to being a maestro at classical guitar, and he also introduced us to legendary players like John Williams. In the end, we all ended up learning so much from his teachings and inspired us each time he showed us little snippets of his talent. He's awesome.

Beautiful sentimental introduction with agressive and powerful components which make use of the full string dynamics and harmonics giving illusion of multiple instruments 🤗🙂
The guitar has great tone in the hands of a virtuoso.

Very impressive composition: uses a wide range of techniques, but very much in the service of the music.

I don’t think that Segovia’s recordings does him justice. This guitar sounds amazing.

I couldn't get to sleep tonight, for various reasons. I thought, hmmm, maybe some acoustic Steve Howe (from prog rock band, Yes). Then my mind leapt to, what about my classical guitar teacher from college? Bam, and there he is.
Beautiful playing sir. Thank for your time and support when I had you as a professor.
I managed to record my first CD last summer, Faith In These Times, Mark and The True Believers. If it has to be labeled-classic rock.
Unfortunately, I didn't save it on a flash drive. But straight to my laptop, which I had to pawn. Then was in the hospital (attacked in an alley in Norwalk by unknown assailant Dec. '18) when it was time to retrieve my laptop.
Oh well, I intend to redo whole thing this summer.
Beautiful clip sir. Thank you for everything.

es una pieza muy deliciosa de escuchar y de ver también. El movimiento final que realiza no es música que se pueda escribir, ni casi se escuche: es como ballet, sugestión, como una reverencia mágica. Embelesa.
