You my friend are awesome! Great fishing! Great to experience it with you! Greetings from USA! I went out today for the pa trout opener and didn’t catch a fish. Haha high water.
Hi Brian, thanks for watching... Shame about today, but the best thing about a bad days fishing is that there is always tomorrow, and the water will eventually drop, and they will be hungry, and will make up for the bad day... Still better than work though! Thanks for taking the time. Gavin
They are great fish, that would never have seen an angler in their lives... A really interesting fishery, if bloody cold and windy at times... Still all worth it Richard
Gee Gav, When you are netting, I reckon you have that 'stagger' action down to a fine art. Clearly it works for you as I think without it, you wouldn't net nearly as many. Good work, Sonno. Now go and catch 'em.
Thanks Gavin, great video great fishing and yes it looked very windy and cold but thanks to you I am sitting in my arm chair by the wood fire watching and learning in comfort-what brand of gloves were you wearing. Thanks again mate cheers David.
Hi David, yep, some days were cold... Even though you expect it, it doesn't make it any warmer... But worthwhile... The gloves are Stalker, the light grey backed are the sungloves, the dark grey are the fleece backed models, both have a very thin PU palm, so the fly rod still feels like a fly rod and not a telephone pole... Glad you enjoyed it... Thanks Gavin
Loved the video until 6:20 in, then it looked like fishing in Yellowstone in the States. Don't do crowds, I like the tranquillity. Never see anyone when I go out, just me my rod and a cigar. Fish Canada.
Yes its unfortunate at times up there... A short timeframe to catch the spawn runners and crowds are just part of that frantic few weeks before the season closes... But despite that, its still better than sitting on a couch...
Awesome video!
Great video Gavin! I'm pretty sure there is NO where else in the world you can fish next to a kangaroo! Lol!
Thanks Gavin, look forward to more videos from you, only a few weeks and season starts cheers David
Fantastic fishing there !!
Very good fishing trout
Thanks 👍
That place is magic!
Great video and what an awesome spot for sure.
Thanks Michael
I'm not so sure about the coffee Gav I reckon a warm cabin and a couple of cold beers would be the go mate

Fair play to fishing in that wind, it doesn’t look easy? I guess persistence does pay off as those browns looked lovely. 👍

Hi Gavin, Nice video mate. i'd be very curious to see how that rig would go in some of the Taupo rivers. Have you ever used it in NZ?
Yep, works a treat, and the fish are always hooked in the upper parts, never deep hooked as we know what happens then...
