Haters is an unfortunate thing on UA-cam. Josh, keep doing what you're doing man. I personally like your channel because you're one of the few YT drummers that records their videos raw. You're the definition of a "budget drummer" so people like me can see you don't need a $500 recording set up and $1000 drum kit and gear. And most importantly (going on a Corey Taylor rant) you don't play all the shit that's on the pop charts. You actually play good music by musicians who literally die for their music.
Josh, you truly have inspired me to pursue my dream of playin my drums. You have taught me how to ignore the haters and play my way. Thank you so much. Fuck everyone on this channel who hates on josh. 🙂

i think the way ur personality is in your videos and the way you treat the comment section already brings out the best in people, ur comment section is one of the nicest on youtube. Most people are selfrighteous fuckers and its already pretty insane how nice the comments are on ur channel, so i wouldnt worry about one of the assholes making it through man :D

Dude, I've been following for ages I guess cause I remember that Slipknot contest..... and every time I watch one of your videos, I ask myself WHYYYYYY isn't there more guys like you? Humble talented drummer, who loves sharing it.
I'm 33, played guitar since I was 15 and I could do the same with a little kick in the ass (sharing cover videos). I'm always desperately trying to find talented guys to play with and it's become almost impossible. It seems like less and less people play music and it's even harder to find a good drummer or singer... you make me wish I lived near you man :D

It's also nice to bypass the band aspect. Everything is on your terms and there's no need for compromise.
+Josh Steffen I'm definitely thinking the same way about compromise, and i've always been a cover guy more than a creative guy, but there's something about having other people playing with you, understanding you with a subtle look, changing the tempo on the fly, etc.
Something that makes me look for that feeling over and over again, like a drug I guess. Haha :)

You are awesome too man! It's good you're addressing this stuff! I personally don't care id you respond or not, I know you'll see the comment anyway and that's really good enough for me. That's just me personally. You do got to remember though, and this applies with any youtuber that's bigger or getting bigger, with a rise of popularity, there will be a rise in both appreciation and hate. As you get more popular, you'll see the, somewhat equal split between the comments that compliment and appreciate and the comments that are just troll/hate/complaints. It seems you know how to handle that situation which is good though. I respect you fro what you did here today man! Have a good one, can't wait to see what other songs you'll have coming out! (PS.Maybe the winkie face will become your signature reply! Who knows!)

You have an excellent choice whenever you do a cover. I enjoyed alot especially those Sepultura songs. Yes but dude, watch the systematic chaos medley. I do the whole middle part as well as almost every other silly middle part on that album. That might be the most ridiculous wankfest I've ever put on UA-cam. It's actually worthy of redoing for the footcam.

I'm 42...I have a 5 year old daughter and I've begun playing more after a layoff these past couple of years. I understand the time commitment family and full time job can be.
