I have lived in Vic for over 50 years and can gaurantee you all we never have freezing winters as stated the only thing that slows you up in winter may be rain
Im a melb boy and have spent a lot of time in Malmsbury / Castlemain area. It does snow and get to a freeze, great to work inside not outside. Need to try it some time.

When i used to go to Doveton State School, some mornings in the winter the drinking fountains were frozen. I remember in Foster st Dandenong snow fell twice and in Narre Warren at my last house there was snow once. But we are not talking about
We are not talking about melbourne we are talking about up to Bendigo Castlemaine area, there is freezing weather. Check it out if you do not beleive me. Im now 68 so my memory is working well. But do check it out not just comment.

I wonder if Gold Rush's Parker Schnabel from Canada meet them once again, he'll asked them for a claim to be leased to them so that he can cover every cost of the season during winter time in Yukon,Canada..last season when Parker came to Australia to meet the Aussie Gold Hunters he seems to be interested in mining in Australia when the Yukon freezes..he found out that the claim is 10x richer than the ground he mined in the Yukon.

Crazy how in Alaska they have to dig to the perma frost to get to the gold and in AUS it's on top or 30 40 feet deep
Perma frost can start as little as 1ft deep. It's the ground that doesn't melt all year round. In shaded valleys that don't get sunlight, it's right near the surface.

I wish it was possible to find big gold in North America, guys here move Olympic pool size amounts of dirt for a couple ounces of dust here.
Not always like this, I used to work at Australia’s largest open pit gold mine. You’d get around a teaspoon of gold once smelted down per 60T.

I'm an Aussie and was 12yrs of age in 1970 when the metric system was officially introduced to schools by the education department, I use both imperial and metric systems depending on the age of the person I'm talking to.
