If your lucky enough to find a nugget, there is a chance others may be nearby, so dragging a chain leaves a mark, you walk out in a circular or square pattern out from where you found the gold leaving a chain mark about 800mm from the last mark, you don’t miss any ground with the detector, which gives you the best chance in finding more.
