- Soap making - general clean up
Do you hate to clean your soap making equipment? Sometimes, you just run into certain products, when making soap, that seem impossible to clean up without making even more of a mess! Just don't overthink it. Here' I discuss a couple things I do to make my life a lot easier.

Glad you're back. I have a friend into vests, he gets some wild ones sewn up by a local lady. 👍
Cool! I haven't thought about any customs just yet :)
Thanks for the video! Cleaning soap equipment with soap!
Looking sharp John! Just came across your vids and really appreciate them. I am in the process of starting my business and like your thoughts on stealing ideas. Although some Artists inspire me, I have a ton of ideas on how I can create my own products that represent me. I appreciate your willingness to share your wisdom and your straightforward speaking. Thank you for your contributions. There is much to learn yet. 🙂
Nice! I like the new look. It's good to see you back on UA-cam. It's been a really long time since you've done a video.
Great to see you posting again Jon. Thanks for letting us have a peek inside your business too, there aren't many in the artisan shaving soap market that would do the same. Like the new look, however we shall see if you're so keen on wearing it come summertime. Beard's looking a little shorter too I see!
Thanks! Yeah, I probably won't wear the vest while I'm working in the summer...lol. But the hats and shirts shouldn't be an issue. I trimmed the beard up a little for ease of care at this point. Sometimes the length can be a real PITA :)
Yeah, it's quite the flavor saver alright. I'm sure you've had one or two saponified along the way!
Glad ur back- looking sharp too!👍
Love the new look!
You look great in whatever you wear. Thank you for the great videos. Happy 2018.
+Salette Campos Thanks!
Hello Uncle Jon. Ruth over in England on the Wirral Peninsular. I have started following as I am new to soap making but made salves and balms since a little kiddy and learnt from my grandma for my own use, but you look fine in your new kit, so smart is good but not too smart that you can not do your job in your shop. Anyhow, I like your no nonsense approach and practical advise. All the best for 2018.
+Ruth Aspell thanks for watching!

Also, the vest is a good look!
Thanks! I have always liked some of the older styles. The vest and shirts help a little...lol. I even have a vintage pocket watch I usually carry in the vest pocket too :)

Thanks for the video
You look snazzy! Cool 😁
Thank you for teaching us the technical part of soap making. Are you going to make liquid soaps, shampoo, and conditioner? I am eager to see what you come up with.
+md m possibly. The liquid soaps are very late or intensive though. So it could be a while.
Looking good! Happy New Year!
Where you buy your jars and essentials oils and soap cutting
New subscriber, researching on soap making and I have a question about the shelf life of oils: how important would an expiration date be for making soap? I haven’t seen much info in regards this on UA-cam. Best regards
I tend to use expiration dates as a guideline with soap making oils. It also depends on what oils you're referring to. Base oils do last longer than the expiration date if you keep them cool and away from direct sunlight. Hope that helps.
Uncle Jon's Thank you
Uncle Jon's I had a Rice Oil that I had bought 2 years ago. I had been buying supplies and researching. I kept it in the closet. I decided to finally start soaping, so I wasn’t sure if I could use it. Thanks
Thank you for your video, l’d like to know if there’s a way to make soap with lower ph. Is the ph come lower with time?
It really depends on your recipe. The ph should come down a little with time, but you really need to study the oils used in your recipe to determine what the end ph will be.
Uncle Jon's thank you, I didn’t know it depends on the recipe
Dawn dish soap? Figured you'd make your own.😁
🤣 some things I can't do better...lol.
It's not bad for your drain but awful for my septic.
Prissy!
