Thank you well I don't have that much problema with meeting people (if you only count when I am going out) and I also don't have that much of a problem with rejection but that might have been because I already knew it (it was very very hard to actually say it tho(probably hardest thing I've ever done))
As an introvert, I always found it challenging to go out and meet new people and find a date, but having an extroverted friend was something I’ve always appreciated because a lot of them motivated me to go out more and when we’re out, they’re like a personal social navigator, helping to break the ice and making things less awkward when meeting new people. They’re also great at helping you find a date as they can act as your wingman/wingwoman.
True, people should try to make others confortable and try to help then or tolerate then behavior (by making no big deal and saying it alright to do some diferent and maybe quirky stuff) as saying "Just get over it bro" doens't make it easier
Bc the world doesn't revolve around you. The real world doesn't fit in your comfort zone. We can make our comfort zones bigger, but we can not make the world smaller.

Trying to make then confortable ins't a big sacrifice, but It take empaty of the other (like, imagine If you we're a introvert, and If you cannot, research a bit on what most of then like to do) and respect. I got two Arab extroverted friend, they always say that I’m boring, then they leaved me because they said that I slap them (which it’s not true) and that I got these long nails and harm them (which it’s also not true), I miss them being my friend... I loved them with all my heart... it’s just that I need more time to get to know them more and be a better friend... I’m glad that I still have a friend that it’s introverted (I think? Bro, I have the same situation, it's pretty awkward since we rarely have anything to say to each other. Fortunately she is 60% introverted but I am 80% introverted or more. Silent conversations, neither of us are good at small talk so we just don't know what to say and it probably hinders the development of the relationship if you ask me. I'm also playing the waiting game as an introvert lol.

This video honestly just helped solidify how I describe myself. An extrovert completely buried by an introvert. I always have this desire to talk to people, to want to do something with people, but everytime I try, I start to get stressed and need time to recharge. Sometimes, that recharge is days, weeks, or months long. I've also got this sort of party mode in my brain that whenever I'm at a place and having fun, all self control is gone and I do whatever comes to my mind. Then it's weird because there's people I talk to that I need a social battery for, but then others where I can be with forever. I'm just all over the place 😅
Based on your own description of yourself, you're not an introvert -- you're either an omnivert (someone who can randomly be an extrovert or an introvert depending on the situation), or an extrovert with social anxiety!

I struggle with rejection, as an introvert, cause the rejection lead to complete ignoring. It happened around my birthday too, so not the greatest time 😅. Its been difficult getting over it, cause i always blame it on myself. And i hate the feeling of being in that, but here i am
I've been working up the courage to express my feelings to my crush. The biggest hurdle is the anticipation of rejection and just the thought of breaking down if they say no. But I'm still gonna try cause it seems worth it.

As someone who isn't necessarily the most outgoing or extroverted person, I really enjoyed this video. And even though I'm not currently dating anyone, I still could relate to many of the points made in this video. For example, I feel that I prefer having meaningful interactions with someone(with friendships, romantic relationships, etc), opposed to just small talk. Even when making new friends or meeting new people, I may need a little of bit time to "warm up" to them, prior to being comfortable when talking to them. Not to say that small talk is bad or anything but if I want to form a genuine, real connection with someone, I at least want to try to get to know them a little bit. However this in itself is not the easiest thing in the world for me. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Keep up the great work @Psych2go!

As an introvert, I find hard to do things socially and I also find it hard to ask for help when I need it cuz I grew up being a DIY and dating has never occurred in my mind cuz I don't see the point of involving someone in your life romantically

As an introvert, this video is accurate and very helpful for others that are venturing into the dating world. I honestly wish that my peers who are also extroverts can understand and take the time to learn about these topics. I find dating to be a challenge and they always force me to join them in social outings. I always deny the requests because I feel extremely anxious and drained but with the help of some really good, close friends that understands my introversion, the moments are always unforgettable and relaxing.
For me, the biggest challenge is to meet new people, I actually prefer IRL one on one meetings, but I want the person I am seeing to be at the very least not put off by me because I don’t want to be someone’s discomfort. That and mainly the sheer cost of energy required to meet new people with no guarantee in sight is making the process so difficult and extra tiresome for me.
Same here -- I want to find someone compatible (i.e. an introvert, among other things), but these kinds of people are THE hardest to find, PRECISELY BECAUSE they like to hang out all alone! Plus, I'm also a patriot in an area where almost everyone else are flaming (for lack of a better word that also starts with an F) liberals, so for me the challenge is squared!
I'm an introvert, but I date a extroverted person. although a lot of people hate the fact that these types of people are always very "active" (or whatever), but I actually find it very interesting. I never felt uncomfortable around her just because she "talks a lot", she always gives me the space I need. and above all, unlike many people, she always understood me just the way I am, she never found me "tedious" or "boring". which I actually think is a very good point.

What you said in this video suits me 100% at all times. Social anxieties, bullying although childhood and my teenage years as well as a terrible first relationship with someone who just used me for her own interests, multiply the difficulties with dating or even just to get in contact and adapt to new people like 1000 times. Feel pretty much like a failure just by thinking about it but maybe I am also just meant to exist in social context.

@@enrikoheringh5520 Huh, if it was about my looks I would have been happier tbh :,D No, she was my classmate at the time and while she had a thing for me too initially, she first gave me a no. I was very sad but she decided that she was wrong and so she acted as being my GF for one and a half year or so. She'd never let me hug or kiss her tho, when we talked it was also just about her issues because she didn't get along with her dad. Her family was actually really nice but well, teenage hit hard. One day she called me via Skype using the webcam I bought her as a birthday gift and she told me a little embarrassed that she'd go with another boy. She called me again another time via Skype and they both made out in front of the camera. I borrowed her Inception on DVD before all that happened and when she gave it back to me, she brought her boyfriend along as well, she did french kissing and all that stuff. All that hit real hard, I was emotionally super unstable and my host parents were of the high expectations kind, so instead of really supporting me, I have been told things like "you are a walking zombie" or "you have have something about you to make women be interested in you.". My ex even joked about my stupid looks at the phone when we talked and yea... it all traumatized me big time. I found a therapist recently which tries to help me getting things fixed but there are other factors in life which I need to fix first before I can tackle the relationship trauma and suffering from being TOO introverted.
This really resonate to me so well since I don't like risking rejections and I find meaningful relationship a lot more important than just a burst of desire to date, my friends hooked me up with new people so its really hard to adjust on how I interact with them since I don't know them in a lot more deeper level, and that's right its not like we don't want to social interact its just tiring when it takes a lot of time and energy, also for me dating just for the fun of it is a complete waste of energy and time, and going to clubs is really uncomfortable I rather go to a more private restaurant or even a cafe

I tried dating an introvert. I’m fully extroverted. Came across needy, clingy and was told “planning everything is not how relationships or friendships are suppose to work”. Well having alone time and shutting down I don’t see as much of one either.
To be honest, this is the 1st video of yours about introverts that I actually watched. As usual, I'm a schizophrenic. I find myself getting overwhelmed by meeting people and make too many insecurities around me but I sometimes ruin myself or don't do anything being alone. I was erotomaniac + paranoid type when making obsessions with crushes who I've only communicated through my mind without any physical interaction. So, I think that's supposed to be my own world. I found a new society which isn't typically forcing themselves to isolate me. Although, they also question me about the same kinds of things mentioned in this video such as why do I refuse to eat together sharing the same package of lunch, why do I hesitate to stick together with others etc. even though there're no good answers for some of those even for me. Dating is something which makes me super paranoid but rather tired and currently I've lost the entire interest in it. Does it mean that I'm an introvert?
I also doubt why I can see paranoid personality disorder in the DSM 5 and not introvert thing in it. I mean, by definition, is being an introvert disastrous?

6 years is alot. I can understand the trauma you've went through but relying on past for this long may cause harm to your life..we must look after ourselves first. Give yourself another chance if you can but don't hurry up
@@alphachad69 Thanks Chad. I feel a lot better now. I got myself a better job and gained my driver’s licence since then. The rest of my social life is either the same or better than it was back then as well. All I will say is that the relationship that ended six years ago was the only one I was ever in and it was the next year after graduating high school.
Once I again this video actually does speak to me directly to my soul at a personal level. Because the problem is with me is that I don't exactly trust most women as an introverted guy so if anything why should even bother to go out to look for someone who likes me for me if most guys that are more outgoing than me couldn't even keep a good relationship with a girl. Yeahhh I don't even know if I could ever try to flirt with someone or ask them out cause I'd be so scared of being rejected. Like- the moment I ask "are you single" so I know, then they already know what I'd ask next :(
Relatable. My experiences of making any kind of move are so bad that I was once called ‘a creep who should be on a public watchlist’ when I tried to ask someone out in high school. Never dared to make a move since then. I still get memories of that experience to this day.
I just struggle to meet young new people my age who are also single because my introverted life doesn’t often put me next to others in similar situations. Most of my friends from high school have moved away, and unfortunately I’ve kind of just been left here to find new people in my life. I have great coworkers at my job who I get along with well, but at home and on my weekends, it gets a little lonely. I’m sure someday I’ll meet some awesome people and find an amazing romantic partner, I just have to be a little more patient.
The irony, most at an outside glance would just assume I am extroverted because I’m naturally talkative and can easily hold a conversation. They forget that unless the other party opens the door for me, there’s a good chance I will go out of my way to avoid direct contact with a stranger. Dating has been impossible thus as it feels like the issues double.

My desire to live a life was pretty much non existent from the start. I had 0 motivation really . But as time went on helping my family and friends seemed like the only purpose I had in this world. I do love gaming but as I got used to it , it became something I was happy to do as long as I get a kick out of it . Ik my life sounds pretty boring. I went to a different area and like 5 mins later that same girl decides to stand right next to me, she was standing there doing nothing at all, but when I left the area she looked back at me…. Ever since grade 6 (now I’m grade 10) I feel I have been more to myself… I’m not sure if I’m introverted or if I’m just quiet… maybe it’s a bunch of stuff but I just don’t feel comfortable talking to people because I feel like I would be bothering them with something not important enough… especially why it comes to asking teachers to go to the bathroom… I connect with this video and some of the other videos on this channel… but I do not see this helping me … not now anyway… found this video looking through the channel. I struggle with rejection, as an introvert, cause the rejection lead to complete ignoring. It happened around my birthday too, so not the greatest time 😅. Its been difficult getting over it, cause i always blame it on myself. And i hate the feeling of being in that, but here i am

As someone who isn't necessarily the most outgoing or extroverted person, I really enjoyed this video. And even though I'm not currently dating anyone, I still could relate to many of the points made in this video. For example, I feel that I prefer having meaningful interactions with someone(with friendships, romantic relationships, etc), opposed to just small talk. Even when making new friends or meeting new people, I may need a little of bit time to "warm up" to them, prior to being comfortable when talking to them. Not to say that small talk is bad or anything but if I want to form a genuine, real connection with someone, I at least want to try to get to know them a little bit. However this in itself is not the easiest thing in the world for me. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Keep up the great work @Psych2go!

As an introvert, I find hard to do things socially and I also find it hard to ask for help when I need it cuz I grew up being a DIY and dating has never occurred in my mind cuz I don't see the point of involving someone in your life romantically
As an introvert i can relate to that i only starts dating in my 30s and my first boyfriend in my 20s i didnt know how it happened coz im not used to dating but hes so tricky i didnt even know we are already a couple 😂😂😂 i thought were just close buddies 😅
As an introvert, this video is accurate and very helpful for others that are venturing into the dating world.
I honestly wish that my peers who are also extroverts can understand and take the time to learn about these topics. I find dating to be a challenge and they always force me to join them in social outings. I always deny the requests because I feel extremely anxious and drained but with the help of some really good, close friends that understands my introversion, the moments are always unforgettable and relaxing.
I think it might be better for you to try dating another introvert -- this way there won't be any pressure to go to social outings!
For me, the biggest challenge is to meet new people, I actually prefer IRL one on one meetings, but I want the person I am seeing to be at the very least not put off by me because I don’t want to be someone’s discomfort. That and mainly the sheer cost of energy required to meet new people with no guarantee in sight is making the process so difficult and extra tiresome for me.
Same here -- I want to find someone compatible (i.e. an introvert, among other things), but these kinds of people are THE hardest to find, PRECISELY BECAUSE they like to hang out all alone! Plus, I'm also a patriot in an area where almost everyone else are flaming (for lack of a better word that also starts with an F) liberals, so for me the challenge is squared!
I'm an introvert, but I date a extroverted person. although a lot of people hate the fact that these types of people are always very "active" (or whatever), but I actually find it very interesting. I never felt uncomfortable around her just because she "talks a lot", she always gives me the space I need. and above all, unlike many people, she always understood me just the way I am, she never found me "tedious" or "boring". which I actually think is a very good point.
As an introvert, I am done with "dating". I think I am gonna die alone. Ppl don't understand me or may be they don't want to understand. I push myself to socialize, bt every time I do so, I get bullied or at mursy of someone or get ighnored. I have lost hopes on love. May be am not born to experience it ever. And that's the life.

Social anxieties, bullying although childhood and my teenage years as well as a terrible first relationship with someone who just used me for her own interests, multiply the difficulties with dating or even just to get in contact and adapt to new people like 1000 times.
Feel pretty much like a failure just by thinking about it but maybe I am also just meant to exist in social context.

I had a similar relationship like yours. She dated me only because she didn't want to be alone and because of my looks. I remember it being so weird that she wants to date me while knowing nothing about me.

No, she was my classmate at the time and while she had a thing for me too initially, she first gave me a no.
I was very sad but she decided that she was wrong and so she acted as being my GF for one and a half year or so.
She'd never let me hug or kiss her tho, when we talked it was also just about her issues because she didn't get along with her dad.
Her family was actually really nice but well, teenage hit hard.
One day she called me via Skype using the webcam I bought her as a birthday gift and she told me a little embarrassed that she'd go with another boy.
She called me again another time via Skype and they both made out in front of the camera.
I borrowed her Inception on DVD before all that happened and when she gave it back to me, she brought her boyfriend along as well, she did french kissing and all that stuff.
All that hit real hard, I was emotionally super unstable and my host parents were of the high expectations kind, so instead of really supporting me, I have been told things like "you are a walking zombie" or "you have have something about you to make women be interested in you.".
My ex even joked about my stupid looks at the phone when we talked and yea... it all traumatized me big time.
I found a therapist recently which tries to help me getting things fixed but there are other factors in life which I need to fix first before I can tackle the relationship trauma and suffering from being TOO introverted.

This really resonate to me so well since I don't like risking rejections and I find meaningful relationship a lot more important than just a burst of desire to date, my friends hooked me up with new people so its really hard to adjust on how I interact with them since I don't know them in a lot more deeper level, and that's right its not like we don't want to social interact its just tiring when it takes a lot of time and energy, also for me dating just for the fun of it is a complete waste of energy and time, and going to clubs is really uncomfortable I rather go to a more private restaurant or even a cafe

My husband and I are introverts. We both prefer each other's company and are always together, never spending time alone from each other. However we both hate big crowds, hanging out with other people, and pretty much what is listed in this video.
I tried dating an introvert. I’m fully extroverted. Came across needy, clingy and was told “planning everything is not how relationships or friendships are suppose to work”. Well having alone time and shutting down I don’t see as much of one either.

To be honest, this is the 1st video of yours about introverts that I actually watched. As usual, I'm a schizophrenic. I find myself getting overwhelmed by meeting people and make too many insecurities around me but I sometimes ruin myself or don't do anything being alone. I was erotomaniac + paranoid type when making obsessions with crushes who I've only communicated through my mind without any physical interaction. So, I think that's supposed to be my own world. I found a new society which isn't typically forcing themselves to isolate me. Although, they also question me about the same kinds of things mentioned in this video such as why do I refuse to eat together sharing the same package of lunch, why do I hesitate to stick together with others etc. even though there're no good answers for some of those even for me. Dating is something which makes me super paranoid but rather tired and currently I've lost the entire interest in it. Does it mean that I'm an introvert?
I also doubt why I can see paranoid personality disorder in the DSM 5 and not introvert thing in it. I mean, by definition, is being an introvert disastrous?

@@alphachad69 Thanks Chad. I feel a lot better now. I got myself a better job and gained my driver’s licence since then. The rest of my social life is either the same or better than it was back then as well. All I will say is that the relationship that ended six years ago was the only one I was ever in and it was the next year after graduating high school.

Extroverts literally have it easier in life, being an introvert is like living on hard mode. But if you're an autistic, introverted man with social anxiety, you're living on impossible mode, and we're also a lot rarer than extroverts so most people just don't understand us. I wish I was just born an extrovert, my life would be 10x better right now.

Yeahhh I don't even know if I could ever try to flirt with someone or ask them out cause I'd be so scared of being rejected. Like- the moment I ask "are you single" so I know, then they already know what I'd ask next :(
Relatable. My experiences of making any kind of move are so bad that I was once called ‘a creep who should be on a public watchlist’ when I tried to ask someone out in high school. Never dared to make a move since then. I still get memories of that experience to this day.
I just struggle to meet young new people my age who are also single because my introverted life doesn’t often put me next to others in similar situations. Most of my friends from high school have moved away, and unfortunately I’ve kind of just been left here to find new people in my life. I have great coworkers at my job who I get along with well, but at home and on my weekends, it gets a little lonely. I’m sure someday I’ll meet some awesome people and find an amazing romantic partner, I just have to be a little more patient.

The irony, most at an outside glance would just assume I am extroverted because I’m naturally talkative and can easily hold a conversation. They forget that unless the other party opens the door for me, there’s a good chance I will go out of my way to avoid direct contact with a stranger. Dating has been impossible thus as it feels like the issues double.

He probably thinks so cause he thinks everyone is like him, just because he isn't aware of it doesn't mean it isn't real.
Ever since grade 6 (now I’m grade 10) I feel I have been more to myself… I’m not sure if I’m introverted or if I’m just quiet… maybe it’s a bunch of stuff but I just don’t feel comfortable talking to people because I feel like I would be bothering them with something not important enough… especially why it comes to asking teachers to go to the bathroom… I connect with this video and some of the other videos on this channel… but I do not see this helping me … not now anyway… found this video looking through the channel. I’m not really looking to date but I decided to watch anyway… I have had some people talk to me now and then … idk why they would take to me … (I only talk when other people talk to me) but I either get the weird kid who talks about skibbidy toilet or some kid asking if I like anyone … besides that it’s all about class work… I have never had a crush on someone and I think the reason is that I do not think I look good enough to even get the words out to ask anyone out or even talk to anyone … honestly I’m starting to think most people think I have some sort of autism or something but I have been tested for everything under the sun and all tests have came negative… and because I don’t talk to anyone people don’t know me but the quiet guy.
