    Hello! i really enjoyed your tutorial 💗 you're very clear with the instructions and i cant wait to start making this! However, I'm only able to get size 3/DK 5 ply (3.00-4.00 hook size) yarn weight where I'm from. Will that make a huge difference in outcome of the sweater? if so, i hope sizing up wont be too much of a problem. If you or anyone that comes across this has any pointers for me that'd be really helpful! Thank you so much! 💗

      Hi, Thank you! I think your yarn is just a bit thinner than mine, which means you'll need a bit more stitches to reach the same panel width as mine. Adjusting the measurements should be very easy as the structure of the sweater is really basic.

    Hi , if I wanted to do a toddler sweater or a womans med then would I just take a baggy shirt and measure width? Would I still do the 11 chain ribbing at the bottom for woman ? Maybe half that for child ?

    • @CherilynQ
      @CherilynQ  Рік тому +3

      Hi! Yes that's what I would do, using my clothes as reference. Maybe add a couple extra inches as the stitches might tighten up. 10 or 11 chains is the ribbing width/thickness. It's totally up to you to add or subtract a few chains to make it thicker or thinner.

    Hi! I have two questions if you are able to answer it. I don’t know anything about crocheting, I’ve had one small experience and I enjoyed it so I wanna make my boyfriend a sweater. My first question is how could I size this down to a large?
    My second question is a bit more simple but is there any way I can make the neckband a bit short and lower? Like a bit less turtle neck like if that makes sense.
    I was just curious if these things could be changed :)

    • @CherilynQ
      @CherilynQ  Рік тому +2

      Hi! Thanks for asking! I usually crochet made-to-measure stuff so you'd first need to look up the measurements for a Large, like the usual width and height of a sweater.
      To size it down:
      First, find out how many stitches equals 1 panel/sweater width. Start with the ribbing in the same way I did but adjust its row count. You'll probably be working less rows since you want a smaller size. You ribbing row count should be [your panel stitch number /2]. After the ribbing, you can work normally until the neckline shaping. This is for the width of the sweater. If you want the sweater shorter as well, you just need to work less rows in total for both panels.
      To make the neckline lower:
      There are slightly different ways that you can do this, but the simplest one is probably just work more decrease rows for the neckline shaping following the pattern. 2 - 4 more rows should be ok.
      Hope this helps!

  • @alexia1757
    @alexia1757 Рік тому

    Hey! I have a question: I started with 34 rows for the bottom ribbing, I'm making this for my grandpa and he's quite slim, and I think my yarn is a tiny bit thicker than yours, so that should end up as 68 stitches on the body, right? Well, every single time I reach the end of a row and count my stitches, I have 69, and I've tried loads of ways to do it right but I still get 69 😢 I'm thinking I may have counted the lower "v" from the two joined single crochets as a stitch, and that's why I got an odd number of stitches. Has this happened to anyone else?

    • @CherilynQ
      @CherilynQ  11 місяців тому

      Hi! Yes, it should be 68 stitches, 2 stitches for each row. Not sure why you have an extra stitch but honestly, it should be okay. Just make sure you leave an odd numbered stitch as well when shaping the neckline. Hope this helps.
