I didn't think it was possible to build such a classy and pleasing wardrobe with black and brown combat boots, but you showed me how. Super impressive and useful. God bless you. Also meant to say I love the background. It gives a study and dreamy kind of vibe - uplifting and inspiring.
Love how you made the comment about wearing different aesthetics at different points in the year...I don't know why, but that really hit for me, and I think I'm going to try and build capsules around DA and "Elementary school teacher who let her students pick her colors for the week"
I love this video and how you say you wear different aesthetics throughout the year. Thank you for all the thought and work that went into it. One note though… The brown boots are not combat boots; they are lace up ropers. They were originally designed for cowboys who work cattle from horseback so that their feet come out of the stirrups easily and have stability on the ground.
Literally have to pause the video, cause it's so mind blowing. I mean, how can be so creative and charming putting this outfits together from that little quantity of pieces?!? Omg this is my favourite video rn
I’ve been watching some of your videos and getting lots of ideas how to build a better wardrobe! I’ve never been good at dressing myself, because we always had school uniforms growing up, and style and fashion were not seen as important. But now that I’m older I know it is important how you present yourself and I wish I was taught what looks good and how to style outfits. So thank you!
Oh no way!! Well I’m so happy I could help 🥹🤍 I heard someone say once, if you had to run out of the house right now in what you were wearing, would you be embarrassed? Haha and that really stuck with me and changed everything
I work in a professional office and this is pretty much my wardrobe 😁 Seriously, my work wardrobe consists of a black suit, a brown suit & a tan suit (vintage). I have 6 button ups, a couple of sweater vests (vintage), 2 A-line skirts and a couple of dresses(vintage). My accessories are a vintage tie, a vintage brooch and 2 vintage silk scarves..... So my career wear very much fits DA!! 🤷
Nice outfits^^ The browns and orange colors work great for autumn look, for spring and summer, you could work with blues and pastels. And boots you can change for black or white patent brogues or slip on loafers with lacey socks, guess it becomes light academia in the summer :p
That was a lot of work and I appreciate it. As I continue to research what is and what isn't dark academia I had a few observations and questions. I've never seen corsets included before so I'll look into that. I'm kind of baffled by the mini skirts in most dark academia videos because if a woman wore that she'd be expelled from school. I think the mini skirt movement started in the 1960's. Also you wouldn't show your stomach. Dress codes were pretty strict up until the mid 1970's. Personally I love the look of berets over newsboy caps. I hope you do another one that talks about hairstyles and jewelry. I'm not a 'gold' person and most dark academia goes with understated gold jewelry. I had an idea about the sweater with the words on it. You could cover them fairly easily with a pocket made of a similar shade of scrap fabric. You might have to double the fabric so the letters don't show through. I just wish it wasn't 100 degrees all summer so I could wear layers. What do you think of adding capelets like in most recent Little Women movie? I have broad shoulders so it's hard to find a blazer. I've also been thinking about including sports like wooden tennis rackets, a crochet mallet, and vintage archery stuff. Now I'm going to watch the whole thing all over again because it's so inspiring.
Such great points you’ve made, you’ve definitely done your research. There are many different ways to wear DA and that’s what’s so great about it. The way I like to think of it is by giving yourself an alter ego. Mine is Camilla from the secret history For me, I imagine myself as a college studying astrophysics and doing art as a hobby, that being said I wouldn’t have a dress code but formality helps my professors taking me seriously but I also might be a little eccentric and dress like a hot mess caught up in work. Example: corsets as is, short skirts or more androgynous But if your alter ego is in high school, dress codes would apply to your style and different styles of clothing, you know what I mean? I think it all depends on your alter ego. Also I think the capelets would work perfect, especially in winter 😍
I would have watched this entire video if it weren't mostly just you talking in front of the camera occasionally holding up clothes . I want much much more outfit swaps head to toe. Much less you just talking. It's boring. If I turn off the sound I have no idea what the video is about because you are just talking endlessly. It's a video, not a podcast.
If there are any other Dark Academia wardrobe videos you would like to see, let me know below :)🤎

Awww thank you bb for such a lovely comment. Happy you found this helpful 🥰🥰😘
I'm trying to imagine how tiring was it for you to wear and take off all those combinations 😩 thank you so much for your inspiration 💗
it was very tiring 😅 I think I lost a few brain cells doing it for so long

I'm so glad you can relate. I always felt weird doing it but I'm trying to get over it because I realize I'm not the only one!! OMG DO IT

I LOVEE THAT FOR YOU 😍😍
This capsule wardrobe is everything ! Could you do the same for cottage core and light academia ? You are so good at pairing clothes ✨
Yes!! Definitely! My cottage core wardrobe is still super small so I think I need a few more pieces but I plan to do it :))

You’re so right. I need my Mary Janes!😭
Banana Republic has the most comfy linen shorts!! I was so sad when my dog chewed up my pair that I thrifted, they were so cute :(
Omg noooo :( they are on sale right now online!
Sell the dog and buy new shorts
I would love some to do a trouser-only version of capsule wardrobes.
Please, do you have the links to the Ali Express corsets! I would love to order them too!
Thanks for sharing!
Omg yes I totally forgot to link everything! I’ll do it asap
@@justlanchen Thank you 🙂
That's so impressive 🥰
🥰🥰
Love your outfits!! Which Mary Jane shoes did you get??

I go through 45 outfits in 20 mins, not sure how much faster I could’ve gone 😅 but thanks for the feedback!
