We live in the German forest and only have little money but feeding our many different breeds of wild birds and the litter of foxes, wiesel, marder get fed before we feed ourselves. I'm older too, and it's given me the wisdom to see that our survival is completely dependent on the survival of all the species of life on the planet. I am so optimistic, now that we have a Labour government, that we will be able to make significant improvements in the chances for our health and survival. I care about vulnerable people, Britain has a lot of elderly, disabled, poor, mentally ill and otherwise vulnerable people who deserve our care and support BEFORE we allocate limited resources to animals. I love animals as much as Brian does but I love human beings more 🤔🇬🇧🙏🌈♥️

Not only is this an issue for your country, it is for our entire world, and even my poor mother believes what the no longer conservative party in our neck of the woods, but Maga believes. Indeed....I like that Mr May isn't overly sceptical about the change in Government but Starmer has already said that he'd like to see 1.5 million new homes built. I'm not sure where the displaced animals are supposed to go.

Very noble of you Brian. We are animal lovers too but we cannot put wild animals before the protection of our crumbling society and loss of national identity. I'm sure where you live its all perfectly well preserved. But you must know unlike most people you don't have to worry about the cost of a mortgage, energy bills, council tax, not being able to see a GP for a month, etc etc.
In the real world we all have to worry about these things.
Labour will continue to let in migrants by the millions and put our public services and our resilience to breaking point.
They will bankrupt the country as they throw money down black holes. They will increase taxes on large businesses who will reflect that in job losses, wage cuts and increased prices.

I'm more worried about the animals in both Conservative and Labour parties who don't give a damn about humanity or nature. And the only reason I clicked on this video at all is because I thought you had plucked up some real courage to admit how wrong you were to push the medical interventions.

When it comes to priorities I find the absolute inverse to be true.
The economy is the most important aspect by far, because If I no longer have to worry about how I'm going to make rent and feed myself, I'd actually have the time to care about the environment and the animals within it (Which i very much do). Instead i find myself working day in and day out, in a city filled with faces i don't recognize, that certainly don't seem very happy to see me. I've been priced out of the housing market entirely, rentals included. I don't have a shred of time or energy to devote myself to the protection of animals and the environment. That would change if every day wasn't a fight for survival.
What remains true regardless of political beliefs, is the internet will kill you. The seeds of depression are watered by opinions on Instagram. It really takes the wind out of your sails.

Ok, let’s look at this. This situation has been caused by the Tories. They have reduced your employment rights, increased prices of everything, trashed the economy, pocketed billions of our money, decimated public services, increased the housing shortage and deflected blame by increasing immigration and blaming the immigrants for our problems. Think about the money for hotels for immigrants. Who made this decision and whose pocket is the money going into? We are being bombarded with propaganda from the media, run mostly by non-Dom billionaires, with a vested interest in supporting the Tories/Reform Ltd. Labour have promised to build affordable housing, etc. It’s a huge task to repair the state the country is in but let’s give them a chance.
Foxes and bees?? I’m worried about the homeless, immigration, nuclear war, leaders who are thieves, cancel culture, infrastructure, economy…….
I get what you're saying - you gotta put number one first. Gotta pay rent and buy food etc. Brian is posting from a privileged position of not having to worry about those things. On the other hand, it makes sense that he uses his public profile to effect change for a cause he believes in. And luckily his cause is a good one.
I've always voted conservative and I'm also shouting from the rooftops get the Tories out. I ain't gonna vote Labour though, that would be a cold day in hell.
With the current 2-horse-race system, it's more of a case of choosing our poison instead of voting for who we really want to vote for, sadly. A proportional system is needed.

This is just vintage Bran May speaking gently and calmly about a subject that he has fought for his whole life, that means the world to him. It is so unfortunate that he could not have lived two parallel existences, one as the person who has purveyed so much joy and happiness around the world with his awesome artistic talent, and a second that could be the driving force in his country and perhaps the world for all good and righteous causes, not by waving his fists and raising his voice, but in his own calm and deliberate manner. You obviously never saw the clip from a live political TV show where May called people "bastards" before apologising profusely. He's not refined enough to be in the political world. Standing next to Queen Elizabeth II with his arms folded some years ago was enough to highlight that.

Both major parties will promise and then ignore us for personal power and greed. A stable and viable country can spend more time and effort on saving the planet. I agree we need to act and save our planet, but we must keep our country in order first. I would also prefer to see other countries not fighting each other at the top of the list. I don't know how to stop the fighting around the world but we must find a way to do this as fast as we can!

As much as I loved Brian May's career as a guitarist, this message is as about as far removed from the real state of affairs in our country as it gets. Multi millionaires bleating on about animals when we have humans living in poverty and mass migration endangering the population and crippling families through raised taxation is an absolute disgrace.

Keir Starmer has already announced that he'd like to build 1.5 million new homes....so much for the animals that need that land!

There are ways to build more homes and respect English wildlife. Also, if you remember, the Labour Party stopped the Conservatives wanting to do away with environmental regulations in their home-building scheme. I think if Starmer told Sir Brian May that they're going protect wildlife, I'm inclined to believe him. Of course, if he doesn't, then he should be taken to task, but let's wait and see before passing judgement.

Let's be honest, they all have their own agenda, however labour have openly stated they will build build build and they will rip up the current planning process. Part of that process is ensuring our green belt where many of our wonderful animals live, is well catered for and considered in the planning process.
If labour steam roller that in, you can kiss goodbye to any greenbelt and what damage then will that do to our wildlife??

when I first saw you guys live, followed with two more concerts in the 80s. You and your 'band mates' have given us so much over the decades and I hope that your words today will resonate with people all over the world to get out and vote. As my late grandmother always told me, "you can't complain about the government if you don't vote".

As much as I love animals, I'm more concerned about elderly people living in damp hard to heat properties, families having to work all the hours God gave, to pay the bills, the need for food banks etc etc. Oh, and I voted for REFORM.

Well done Brian… as we all age… (now in my 50’s and have cats and a Goldie) animals are our canaries in the mines. Our most vulnerable amongst us, other than the human kind they are our healing lesson for humility and compassion. They keep us and remind us to be ‘better humans’. Yes the more healthy , evolved and progressive people in government make a huge difference but it is down to every individual as a collective. Well done on finishing your tertiary study…. You may find some humour in this.. after a horrid recent divorce… I was determined to tackle it head on with grit and compassion … my i phone ring tone was changed to none other than Queens’s ( that little band from the 70’s😊) and I took a snippet from your song , Another bites the Dust, from my i tune list. My phone now rings to ‘ you took me for everything that I had and kicked me out of my home’. Fact is stranger than fiction … trust me. Never stop believing that your gentler and sensitive nature isn’t needed or appreciated in this world. Whose creative ability also gifts us music-that fulfills our souls and makes us mere mortals feel like we are coming ‘home’ to a place of safety.

One thing when you have uncontrolled immigration what do you think that will do to our wildlife etc when the countryside is ripped up for housing thousands of extra people. How is that a good thing.
Everything is at stake in elections everywhere. Human rights, animal rights, a clean environment, a healthy planet; it's frightening. In the US, we're still trying to stop wildlife killing contests, state by state. It's horrific. 😭

I'm 42 and I voted Labour for the first time in this election. I've always voted tory. But despite the efforts of Rishi Sunak to keep the conservatives centre right, it's been obvious to anyone watching that the hard right group of MPs have been increasing attempting to drag the party to the right whilst Kier Starma has done a great job of moving the Labour Party to occupy the centre ground. In the end it was a very easy decision to give Labour my vote.

Thank you so much for plucking up the courage to speak out and encouraging people to vote. What you say does make a difference to people who either don't give it much thought or think that their vote won't count. By doing so, whether you think so or not, you helped change the course of the situation by voting in the Labor Party, I hope the same can be done for us in the States this November. We have such a bigger carbon footprint and too many people who don't take it seriously.

How we treat our animals, both domestic and wild is a measure of us as human beings. Badgers have as much right to be protected as ourselves. Nothing has worked so far.

Brian, thank you for speaking out. A few years ago, I was conflicted politically. I always voted Labour but didn’t like Milliband. I wasn't a Tory voter but liked Cameron. I still hadn't decided walking up to the polling station. So at the last minute, I decided to vote Green. Both locally and generally. Voted Green ever since. Always will.
