Thank You so much for this video.. I got my restricted three weeks ago and honestly watching this video helped alot. For anyone going for their restricted stay calm and focused dont let the nervs take over! And if you didn't get the results you wanted then its okay, take it as a learning curve and come back stronger. All the best!!
That's awesome, congratulations Uso! Where did you sit your test? Great feedback about the nerves and about all experiences being part of the learning journey! :)
This is very valuable! Thank you for posting it. The instructor was so calm and informative. I learned a few things from this video. It seems Nikki didn't look at the left side mirror that often.
The mock videos are extremely helpful. Thanks to your videos, I was able to improve my driving knowledge and passed my restricted driving test on the third attempt!

Crossing your hands while steering is acceptable so long as you return your hands back to the correction position after steering. Good luck with your test tomorrow! :)

Roundabouts shouldn't make anyone nervous :) Take your time selecting a gap and work through the roundabout slowly to ensure you have time to identify your exit
It's acceptable to cross your hand when steering so long as you return your hands back to the correct positions after and you don't lose control in between :)
Hi Terepai, our focus is on helping drivers understand how to be safe drivers and what they will be assessed on so we don’t worry too much about set routes
When turning Right into Harris from a side street, what happens if you can't get all the way across the road. Are you allowed to cross into the median strip ?. Then wait there until its free to move into the lane ?
Hi Louise, yes that’s exactly what the median strips are for and what the testing officers will be expecting you to do. By Harris, I’m guessing you mean around Highbrook?
@@SocialDrivingAcademy if this scenario happens during the test, and a car coming from the left last second decides to indicate to turn down the street you’re coming out from, will you be marked down if you moved forward into the median thinking that car was going straight?
What happens if you miss a turn where they say you should turn there? Like for example if they say turn into Mellow street but you didn't see the street sign and go past it, do you get deducted points or do you fail?
Hi AngelGhost, i agree with the comment below. If it's a one off then the Testing Officer is likely to just get you back on the track however if you are continuously missing turns then that would be a problem.
Update: Yes, I did. I took the test last May 3rd. Having failed my first attempt, it took me a while to muster the courage to take on a second attempt. Plus Covid happened again so it got delayed and so on and so forth. But before my test, I watched my video as well as the other coaching videos of Muneeb and it did help a lot reviewing my common mistakes. Best advice i could give would be, relax and don't overthink it.
Hey @Rogie, sorry for the delayed response. You can book in online through: www.socialdrivingacademy.co.nz/mock-test-restricted. If your test is tomorrow, good luck! If it’s next week, let me know how you get on with the booking. Thanks, Muneeb :)
No she is not doing headchecks and always looking to the gear when she is changing ( that's a NO NO).. To early indication ( more than three seconds). The instructor doesn't know the way and he is busy to check the road in his device!!!
Thanks for the feedback, Maya. Not doing headchecks is an issue. Infact one of the top three reasons people fail their tests. It's an automatic vehicle, the only time she'd need to look at the gears is when changing at a stopped position which is acceptable. Indicating too early isn't a critical error but can be problematic depending on the situation. The device is for recording notes not for directions. :)

For a restricted test in New Zealand am I aloud to cross over my hands when ever I am turning ? or would I get pulled up for that ?
