- Taken as a whole, Halo Infinite is an amazing package. This series has been down in the dumps where its mainline offerings are concerned for some time now, and even in the lead-up to Halo Infinite's launch, things were looking pretty dire until not that long ago. 343 Industries has made an excellent recovery though, for which the studio deserves all the praise in the world.
Simultaneously recapturing a legendary series' essence and moving it forward in significant and meaningful ways is a pretty tall order, to say the very least, but Halo Infinite pulls it off with great aplomb. And now, at long last, Halo is back to its best. - Ігри
Loved this game and the fact that it feels like Halo. I was actually bummed when I finished the campaign story line. One quick tip: don't completely dismiss the usefulness of the threat sensor. It's not as overall powerful and useful as the grapple, but I can assure you on boss fights or any fight where you're dealing with dangerous cloaked enemies, it's worth its weight in gold!
Arghwh that sad feeling when you finish the game you loved. Even when you know the end is not far off, it's saddening enough.

When i finally figured out how to switch between the abilities, the chak'loc fight became instantly easier using the threat sensor.

I am about halfway through the campaign right now and I’m already getting sad that it’s about to end. Been playing Halo since the first game… So glad this game is back. I bought an Xbox just for this alone. Thank you 343.

@@MonkByte I picked up the S for $300. A solid PC rig would set me back a bit more than that. At the end of the day I'm a busy working dad gamer, so a $300 S will have to suffice.
Loved campaign overall although I wish we a had few more traditional type missions built in with set piece battles and at locations they were not entirely banished or forerunner.
Agreed. The game was very fun but really missed the Halo 3 level set pieces... and the marines didn't drive vehicles!!?? Wtf
They finally knocked it outta the park with the Halo Campaign. The gameplay loop is awesome. Its so well done. The combat and movement is God tier.

Just finished the campaign and I absolutely loved it! An amazing game as a Halo fan and regardless if you are one.
Ok I work so let's say bout a 2hours after work and maybe four hours on the weekend how long do think it'll take to complete the campaign? I prefer longer story lines and campaigns?
@@biggsipp746 it took me about 15-20 hours to complete regarding the main story line and more than half of the side missions on Heroic difficulty.
It really just depends on difficulty and how you play. I would stare at the art designs, take my time with the enemies, and tried to upgrade my spartan as much as I could. If you like any of the older Assassins Creed games or Batman Arkham games; then this is a blend between Halo’s story and gameplay but in a open world map like those two other game franchises.
I got it via GamePass so it was great. If you don’t want to pay a month of gamepass or whatever, I would buy it for $60 bucks just cause it’s the best Halo game 343i has made and I take it as a love letter to Bungie and to the franchise.
If you like to take in things and not just blast your way through like I do, then it’s worth it. If you don’t play like that, then it might not be worth the full price. But yet again, anyone who bought Halo 4 and 5 I feel were scammed since they are terrible Halo games.

I’ll tell u what. This review pretty much captures everything that I feel about this game.
I’ve never really been a Halo guy as FPS games were always third or fourth on my genre list, but I’ve always loved the characters and the general narrative.
This game, has opened my eyes to what many of you have known for years, holy crap! The gameplay mechanics are still as strong as ever, and feels so satisfying. That said, the story, the characters, the arc, this time around, it connected with me immediately! To the reviewers point, there is so much personality and chemistry across the three main characters, and along with simply progressing through this amazing shooter, that dynamic is what has kept me moving forward!
I can’t wait to dive back in when I get the time, but this one, may just make me a dedicated Halo fan for life! Great work!

i would be inclined to agree with the score just because of the inclusion in the game of so much amazingly funny Grunt chatter. It more than makes up for any short falls in graphics lol. The sound is also out of this world amazing on a Dolby Atmos set up. The only thing it really needs is snow and ice levels. That and 60 fps animation to match the 60 fps framerate.
I felt that when I had enabled 144 frame rate the game looked more stuttery than at 60 fps

The campaign needs DLC:
1) Drivable falcon
2) Silenced SMG, darker nighttime and ambush spots
3) Banished assaults to retake FOBs
4) More biomes and map environments
5) Side quests!
While I agree that some stuff can be added to the main map to fully make use of a great open world. It's important to remember this isn't an RPG and isn't billed as one.

I always hated that were not really allowed to ever fly a pelican. Only once in a halo mission in 4 and the Easter egg in reach. I'd love to be able to fly a pelican freely.
Watching this gameplay was upsetting to see all that damage getting soaked up by that shield lol, I’d finished the campaign recently on legendary and I’ve had to almost exclusively headshot everything and cheese most bosses since they just frigging melt you in a one on one fight…that grapple really helps while running like a scared child from melee bosses haha

Well if you look at it in a realistic way a rifle has nowhere near as much net energy as a plasma gun. Even without shields most enemies wear large armor plates which would soak up a lot of damage from a kinetic projectile. This is all offset with being able to degrade helmets and armor with a weapon, with the end goal of the player going for the head and getting good. I played on heroic my first run and honestly it was far more enjoyable than any of the easier difficulties
This is probably one of the easiest Halo instalments on Legendary. Use your gadgets in aggressive combination and take advantage of the numerous fusion coils and reload points. The game basically holds your hand in giving you the required weapons for the difficult boss fights. I really enjoyed the game but my #1 qualm is it is far too easy.
I haven’t cared for the 343 takeover, but this is so far from what halo should be. While capturing the “spirit” of halo much better with proper music, humor and chiefs look, this isn’t halo in practice, purpose or story.
In the past, the bungie franchise would occasionally have a do this, then do that and now do this so we can move along. I do mean occasional.
There’d also be a few repetitive sequences where you drop cortana off at a terminal and she does her thing.
Within just two levels, these two items happened more than all of the bungie games ever this soon into a game. I couldn’t believe it.

Over and over and over and over and over again. It doesn’t flow like a halo game either. Not so linear either with various scenery, pacing and purpose. Instead you’re free to pursue countless side-quests along with the main story, all on the same location for the most part and the overall campaign.

This… this isn’t halo. This is halo wars as an FPS. Thematically, there’s no reason for the pelican driver to magically be able to spawn warthogs, weapons and troops to arrive everytime we take over a small base. Where did this shit come from? Ughhh…and then the graphics during cutscenes? Certain angles chief looks criminally unpolished.
I totally agree this isn’t the halo that I loved. 343 halo feels generic at best is like a different game graphics are not impressive at all.

The game is great and the world is really beautiful but I definitely ate through it quickly! These are some very easy updates I would add to fill out the gameplay.
1. UHVTs (Ultra High Value Targets) - These are extremely difficult bosses that require you to pull out all the stops, use your best weapons and ammo, vehicles, and bring as many marines as you can. You can only unlock UHVT's as a reward by completing all regular HVTs and UHVTs will unlock fun weapons from older Halo games like the Spartan Laser, Covenant Carbine, Spiker, SMG, etc.
2. Elite Caches - These are hidden bases of powerful Elite caches but require you to use your equipment to solve puzzles to make it to the end. One might have you grapple across a giant jungle gym without touching the floor, the other is a giant labyrinth but using your radar could help you solve your way to the center, another might require you to throw well-timed fusion coils to take out a moving generator to take down a shield. Just something that tests your abilities in a unique and fun way.
3. Vehicle training mission- These are really simple missions, akin to the AR training in Batman or the horse races in the Witcher 3. Race from point A to point B in a mangoose, kill 50 enemies with the Warthog etc. Doing these will unlock stronger variations of each vehicle to be used on things like UHVTs.
4. UNSC Tags- These are just collectibles. Nothing too special about them but I hate climbing a tall tower or going to a unique area and finding nothing there. These can be used to help give the player a little sense of accomplishment for exploring the map. Similar to a Korok seed in BOTW. 343 can give them a purpose or they could just be bare collectibles me personally I don't care, I just want the reward of finding something in a hidden area.
5. Trials of Escaholom- This is basically just be Firefight but in Single-player. The player goes through Escaholoms training grounds like they did in the main story but this time with harder and more unique enemy types popping up. Getting rewarded with points to spend on weapons as they progress and seeing what wave they can get too.
The beauty is these are all super easy things to add and wouldn't take too much time or effort. Let me know if you agree or disagree with any of these but I personally feel like they would really fill out the end game.
Spot on, I absolutely loved this game and will continue to run through the campaign a second time but I 100% agree that there should have been more variety in environments, got very repetitive in that regard. Add some snowy peaks and areas to the mountains that maybe slows movement due to deep snow (plus its beautiful to see next gen well crafted snow physics) and requires using grapple to change up gameplay a little, a dry sandy dune desert region with minimal cover and requires more straight up fights and then a high desert region that joins the dunes to classic mountain regions we have now for a combined environment but with different visual assets. Still an awesome game but hopefully they will mix up environment some for the next title or maybe a DLC or something

I love the campaign and the narrative’s breadcrumb trail of subtle storytelling. I came to like the weapon, and even the pilot despite finding him annoying at first. And master chief feels like the old chief while also feeling like he’s progressed so much as a character. However I took issue with the open world sections. The environments feel the same, and the objectives feel the same. the combat is fun but it gets tiring looking at just trees and metal. But still I had fun with doing the objectives because the combat is actually challenging, even on normal. Personally I think this campaign is great, a solid 8.5/10 for me. And I’m hoping the score increases in the future if we are truly getting campaign dlc, because if we don’t, I’m gonna be left wanting more.

Infinites campaign is pretty excellent, it is good to see 343 is finally starting to see what makes Halo great and that they are on the right track now and will do even better in their next games.
My biggest issues with the Infinite is probably the graphics. As stated in the review there is almost no variety in the environment although it look pretty good and crisp, but not on the same level as Halo 3.
I dislike the covenants colors being so toned down. The design of banshees and phantoms is also really off. The sounds of most weapons are good, but I would really love if the human weapons sounded more like the original games.
The campaign, at least to me didn’t feel very impactful, I speculate if it has to do with the game being open world. I do probably prefer the classic non-open world Halo games in general, but I did have a lot of fun in the open world, but the biggest problem here is the side quests being too repetitive. I have a feeling that once coop is released I’m done with the game, which I almost feel I am actually, which is a shame, but I hope the weather effects will breath a little life into the game.
I have only started playing and have been enjoying the campaign. My Mrs wants to play but there doesn't seem to be colour blind options for the HUD and mini map. She can't see them with the colours used.
While playing I can’t stop thinking how great it would be with co-op

I've always wanted to play halo so here I am 25 years later with my first xbox. I'm playing through mcc (on halo2) now so I'm stoked when it's time to play infinite.
Nice it was why I made the choice to switch after PS3 t ogo to Xbox 1 because firstly the PS4 at least at launch had no games tha treally interested me and then I heard abou tthe MCC coming to XB1. I was inrtigued because I'd always wanted t ogive Halo a shot as it always looked a cool game but I was on th ewrong system to really play it an dwhils tI had played the original Halo 1 and 2 on PC as those 2 were the only 2 Halo games to get released to PC. Now o fcourse that the PC has accesss t othe MCC too as that was released last year it was great fun to be able to play all the Halo's in order from Reac hthe prologue all the way to 4. Unfortunatel y5 hasn't made it's wa yto PC yet but like you I'm looking forward to playing Infinite given I'm getting it for Christmas.
Halo MCC is incredible on Series X . The amount of effort they have put into fixing this package over the years is amazing. Playing Halo Reach with 120 FOV at 120 fps is heaven.

I can't believe it's been that long since the original Halo was released. I still have the original Xbox (Tsop with an 80 wire IDE to Sata adapter with a 2tb hdd) and still play it on a regular basis
From what 343 is doing right now and given Halo Infinite 10 year plan they will be adding story dlc they already have a name Halo: The Endless. So i hope when it release and if any others do to you will review those as well

As a guy who has been playing ps5 almost all year, halo infinite campaign was the first game on the Series x to really hype me up. Very happy with this one and it’s on gamepass which is just unreal to me with how high quality this game is. Really wish campaign co op was included for launch tho. Looking forward to more Xbox exclusives.
Very happy with this game. Even more excited for its future, because of live service, 343 can do what bungie could never do and improve the final product into its overly-ambitious original vision.
This game is amazing. Really love it so much. The gun play is perfect. The only thing I hope they add in future DLCs are new environments. The sound is great with my xbox headphones and dolby atmos. It's just so good. Thank you 343.
maybe the visual variety will happen in the DLCs i mean youre only on a tiny part of the ring so of course the terrain wont change much, but if they do add on to the story like its rumored then youll probably be put on different parts of the ring
They said it's a 10 year game. So they will definitely continue the stories. Haven't finished it yet but I'm sure it ends on a cliffhanger
An improvement we REALLY need in multiplayer is oddball and flag melee hits being an INSTANT kill again. Seriously, every oddball and ctf game shave both being an instant kill with melee, so why not in Infinite? Without the instant kill the ball and flag carriers have a MAJOR disadvantage.
Also we need the options to choose WHICH game mode we want to play. Especially with certain weekly challenges. For example if I have to win a ctf match, instead of picking that game like in every other Halo game, I have to choice Quick Play and cross my fingers and hope I get that game mode and that my team wins, as the game modes are now randomized.

This game seems like the best example of what we could have if people would be a little more patient, and allow the developers to spend the time to fully use the tools they have available. It’s not perfect, but the story and world is FINISHED!!! It’s so rare for a game like this to release finished nowadays, or it feels like that to me at least. Thank you devs, and everyone else who worked on this game!

Emotions aside, this is most unsatisfying continuation of storyline of halo. The original series (prior to halo4) from bungie was not just great, it was fking legendary. They built a story line which kept us curious despite of being simple to follow. The story was perfectly connected between each release and the campaign felt like you were working for collective goal of human kind. Halo 4 was still good, but right from halo 5 things starts to get messed up. Dead people are alive, friends betray you, politics among characters and above all there is classic human vs AI jam. The story/characters is different but the core recipe is still similar to that of latest episodes of GOT, StarWars and Marvel Movies. At some point it gets so complicated that you (except hardcore fans) loose interest to follow. It seems that writers are trying to extend the story beyond they originally intended to. There is no seamless continuation between halo5, infinite and wars 2 and there is always a 'when/how tf did that happened?’ moment. Using cliff hangers and missing information 343i are setting stage for Spinoffs games, which (instead of adding to story) will be used to fill the information gap. It seems they are milking our curiosity in the name of once a legendary title halo.

Thrusters should’ve been a simple double tap of A and there’s nothing anyone can say to convince me. No need to choose between that and the grappling hook when the GH ultimately gives you more evasive tactics. Love the game tho that’s my only complaint so far
I think they are treading a fine line with the utility.
Even if they did add double A for thrusters, it would have to share the cool down with grapple.
Or it's just busted as shit vs melee brutes.
I am loving this game, HOWEVER!! On PC (where I’m playing) it’s not the most stable affair. I’m running a pc that should be able to play it without much struggle and for some reason my pc is having troubles with it from time to time. Not to mention there are some weird graphics quirks on pc that need to be fixed. Other than these small gripes it’s definitely a great game, and I imagine 343 will fix it soon
Mine don't run great and I'm running a 3600 with a RTX 2070 ...plus this game is not anything to brag about graphics wise.

Thank you 343! I love how nostalgia has won against the "trend". Im assuming that youre gonna be adding missions at some point.can we get a mission where humans get access to stealth units and discover how to replicate it, they should have these by now, especially with 'The Weapon'. And why is the longshot so sh@t at long range, better off with a regular handgun unless Im missing some intended use for it. Also, the regular BR is better than the BR variant.. why? Even the Marine will nope it! Same with all human weapons, I havent even tried the SG. I feel like it was a semi-thought-through-investment. Give customisation or dont, theyre definitely decent, just not whats needed for extra weapons. Covent and Brute Variants are on point. Love it
It's genuinely a shame that co-op is coming late because, while I had a ton of fun playing campaign even on my own, I'm sure it would be a blast with a couple of friends loaded into a Warthog or a Razorback.

It's not a revolutionary and breathtaking game BUT.... it really feels like Halo, 343 it's going into the right direction, and there's a lot of fun on the gameplay. As a classic halo fan, I can say that this game really makes me think that I'm playing a sequel of Halo 3, master chief it's amazing, the weapon it's a great addition and all the flashbacks are nostalgic but yet not forced. This is a really solid game.

Halo Infinite is a modern classic. It isn’t over the top but 343 nailed every aspect of gaming with this effort. The multiplayer is balanced and FUN!!! The campaign feels like a modernized retro game and it is absolutely amazing. Great story too. The sound effects, music, graphics are all top notch and it runs smoothly…. This is the best Halo game since Halo Reach.
Halo 5 was the only Halo game that sucked. Halo is one of the few gaming titles that usually rocks. 343 will continue to tweak and update the game for years to come. Halo Infinite is essential.
I was confused at your complaint about the graphics until I realized you were playing on console. Playing on PC @ 1440p w/ a 3080 - those issues don't crop up. Infinite is one of the best-looking games I've seen.

My only gripe is that the linear portion of the game is a little short, and I completed it before doing much of anything in the world bc I didn't realize how short it was. Nevertheless, it's a great game.
You can always jus tdelete your asve an dstar tagain in orde rto explolre moe rif you want I think but I believe they do plan to release stor yexpansions for the game over time. So there will be moer coming. What we have at the moment is just part 1
i just feel it was 2-3 years late. Its the same recipe as most aaa open world games... I can say ive been enjoying it tho because I haven't play any halo in 10 years. Also at 4k on pc its amazing visually

Best controls for a game
Yes I can say that I had the same thing happen to me while I was playing Halo Infinite. Game froze for a few seconds when I was playing it on my series X. I don't know why this happened I thought the game crashed on me. 343 needs to fix this problem.
This happened to me 5 times. Love the game, but that is unacceptable.
I had zero issues on my Xbox One X which is last gen hardware. Might be an optimization issue with the series S/X? I'm not paying scalper prices and willing to hunt down the series X when miniscule amounts are available at a given finite time. I've got a PC that can more than bridge the gap, maybe I'll buy it for that if I desire more than the Xbox One X delivers, but I'm happy with it so far on old hardware. Eventually the series X won't be scarce and I may consider it at that point, but scarcity has turned me off to it at this point in time.

I wish they had a bit more interesting boss fight at legendary. I was getting one shot by bosses in legendary that at one point all my boss fight became mary go round to not get a single hit or Im dead.
All they had to do was add a snow section and a jungle section.

I have such a hard time actually getting into a multiplayer game. It's either an error code or can't connect to fire team wich makes me have to force quit the game. If it wasn't on gamepass and I actually spent money on it I would be disappointed, but it's technically free so I can't complain to much.
It’s a shame that I can’t have both ‘graphics’ and ‘performance’ at the same time on my Xbox 1X.

Im glad i didn’t put the majority of my Spartan cores into the drop wall or threat sensor. Becomes virtually useless in the last act of the game. Everything just rushes you down, can barely even run from them.
I absolutely love it! Exploring is fun, killing hvt is rewarding, hunting for spartan cores and cosmetics is also very fun. Totally recommend

Unfortunately yeah that was def missing. Due to the stricter guidelines for games to be released in other countries, a lot of games have been making that sacrifice lately I've noticed. 343 says it is to capture younger fans for a newer generation of Halo, but I think that's only a part of it. It's strange times we are living in now.
The pilot looks like Joel from The Last of Us.
I know most series do this so that the game can keep going but I hate that Atriox didn't just crush Master Chief's neck instead of stupidly dropping him into space

They obviously left out the part of the story that bridges Halo Wars 2 with Infinite merely giving us a cutscene of Atriox throwing Master Chief off off a ship. We don't know how Master Chief got there or why Atriox is now dead... Also, Weapon is portrayed as a millennial preschool teacher, who insufferably won't stop talking. And I'm not even referring to her repeated reminders of the next task in the story line. Echo 216 is just as unlikeable, I found myself upset that they didn't die.
You mention thinking about how to spend your spartan cores... By the time I completed the game I had every upgrade and 11 left over cores.
I managed to skipped all the previous halo in all my years of gaming (started with Mario on nes). This is my first halo. While the gameplay was great, it felt short as fuck even after doing all the side missions. Was the previous halos this short? I was hoping for horizon ZD length.
The average length of a halo game is roughly 6-7 hours depending on how you play it
FPS games aer genreally always pretty short games yes. This was nevre going t obe anything like Horizon's length you want something tha tlong you'er best bet is to look at Mass Effect or Dragon Age. Or perhaps even the Witcher series. It's probabl ythe biggest they've gone in terms of the Halo series but it was never planned to last as long as games like that.

Infinite would have gotten a 95 on metacritic if it had just launched the campaign and multiplayer for 60 bucks with more modes on the multiplayer like swat, snipers etc.. but still a great deal since the campaign is on game pass and the multiplayer is free
