Dude you’re a legend for this. Petition for this man to get a Nobel Prize! 🙏🏼 Thank you so much. I bought a ‘15 F-150 today & I work at the dealership. I hadn’t actually been in that truck tho since we just got in on trade a few days ago. All I did was test drive it didn’t even bother checking. Signed up & got in the truck to come home. Tried connecting my phone & no dice. Button didn’t even work. Went to my boss’ office & told him about it. Thought it was the whole APIM module & he said he’d have it replaced & the dealership would pay for it. Can’t wait to see the look on his face tomorrow lol bet that’s gonna be a huge weight off his shoulders
Ha! Glad it helped. It’s not a long term solution unfortunately, it will occur again. Maybe in a year or two. I can’t say I’m a big fan the Sync platform...
Thank so much for the information, you were spot on. Only thing you left out was how an 80 year old man gets down and back out to pull that blasted fuse. Thanks again.
This process worked for my 2014 F-150. Obviously, check owners manual for correct fuse. My SYNC Display was on fuse #2. Now able to connect my phone via Bluetooth. Thanks for the video. Saved me money and a trip to the dealership.
First vid that popped up on Google search. Fixed it in 3min flat sitting in a parking of the grocery store. Wish all car issues were that simple. Thanks!
Awesome. Thank you. Tried everything in the owners manual for a 2015 Ford escape and watched several videos but no help. Then found this. was exactly what we needed.
You definitely got me a customer to switch companies thanks to your videos! I definitely recommend you do tutorials because you knew exactly what you are doing. I appreciate your help sir.! Hope the best for you!
THANK YOU! In my case it was fuse #3, but it also said "sync" on the fuse description. Like your, the fuse, upon visual inspection, looked good, but it turned out it wasn't. I appreciate you taking the time to upload this.
Thank you. I started having a problem with Bluetooth immediately turning off after I had just turned it on in the Sync menu. 2011 Ford Escape so only a simple dot matrix display. Tried all the resets without success. Pulling the fuse and replacing turned out to be the fix. Again, thank you for posting this.
True Story, fuse 32 only worked with a full Sony/Sync~2? 2015 platinum. It was the Strangest thing prior; new phone connected for calls but not for audio(prior new phone worked for an hour for audio then stopped), pull fuse 32 ~Sync only. If full Sony/Sync2 it does a hard restart with long SYNC start screen and then phone fully connects immediately radio memory, and everything still good didn't even need to re-add phone in bluetooth connection screen. Tried everything else(pairs, removes, re-pairs, fully delete all bluetooth pairings/connections) for hours prior. Good Video.
Is this the same fix as pulling the negative battery terminal off for 30 seconds? Mine works fine for a couple weeks after doing that then its back to disconnecting my phone constantly
I have a 2016 F150 Platimium some times when i start my car my radio will not find the Sync and will go over to AM station and not find my phone, Would i need to do this or just do a sync Reset?
I knew the update was BS. This works but I had to do one extra step. A 2015 F-150 XLT, phone says pairing unsuccessful, and the USB was having issues at the same time in a 45-60min drive. 1) Check owners manual for the fuse, pg297 for me and fuse number 32, lists “Mutli-function ... Sync1...” 2) Open the panel exactly like he does, peel it away about midway up. 3) needle nose plyers, pull fuse, key check (I accidentally started), check radio - off - good, take key out of ignition, reinstall fuse and cover. Extra step 3.5) iPhone settings > Bluetooth > tap “i” by sync > press “forget this device” 4)skip to around 04:00 for the rest. Forced to update your truck when it’s being used like a pair of earbuds is ridiculous. Next your will have to update your car to charge your phone when it’s being used like a stupid wall outlet. Lol
Just had the same problem with my 2012 Fusion lost Sync for the phone. First I pulled the battery cable thought for sure would do the same thing it did not. Had to pull the fuse. I wonder why the battery cable didnt work???
Fix works perfectly but does not actually solve whatever the root cause is. The same thing happened again about 2 months later on my 2015 - it's not a problem to do it every now and then, just a pain if you need the connection. Any ideas what the root cause actually is? I have not been abel to fund anything on this anywhere else online.
lukeinga Ford wants to sell you a new radio unit so this is as much of a fix as I’m ever going to have :) Yea I’ve had to do it a few times since the video too
Very helpful, worked like a charm, thank you for your help! It is especially critical since our state (MN Aug 2nd) just made it illegal to hold a phone while driving, as fate would have it, as soon as the law went into affect, my sync system would'nt recognize my phone, so, a BIG THANK YOU EVAN!
I tried this and while it temporarily fixed the Bluetooth issue, the problem resurfaced later the same day. I’ve repeated this procedure and works short term but not a permanent fix. I may have a bad Bluetooth module. Not sure.
I have the same exact problem and it didn't work for me, I did master reset and pulled the fuse waited and put bCk in, and made sure the radio was off when I pulled the fuse and it did have a black screen but it still saying insert USB and won't play Bluetooth
This worked great! My only question is when I did this my phone connected and plays music, but it doesn’t show on the truck that my phone is connected. Any idea why this might be the case?
Did you pull the fuse, let it sit, plug it back in, ensure everything was deleted on SYNC and Bluetooth device removed from your phone before syncing again from scratch?
So my Bluetooth just went out. Went to the ford dealer and they said it will be $1200 to fix! Should I give this a try? I have a 2015 F150 XLT. Touch screen...I don’t know if that makes a difference or not
John Rivera Yea May need to confirm the plug to pull, look in your manual. Also, letting it sit for a few min will help in, let any charged capacitors draw down
This fixed my 2019, the bluetooth in my sync 3 was basically frozen. Thanks much. I have a question - is this something that is going to keep happening? It shouldn't in the first place, so I'm wondering.
Mine won’t connect to anything SYNC and the usb doesn’t work...won’t even charge my phone. I tried the fuse, disconnected the battery, all the usuals. The SYNC has constantly been giving me problems since I bought it new.
Years later still had to come back to this video, worked like a charm. Thank you!!
Thanks for the vid. Precise , to the point and no mumbo jumbo. I just fixed mine for my 2016 XLT in about 2 min.
Literally tried EVERYTHING including calling the 800 number for sync.... and this video fixed the issue in 2 mins.... awesome. Thanks bud!
Bro....your the man. I've had to do this twice on my Ford. I don't know why it creates this problem in the first place.

Not all hero’s wear capes! Hardest part was pulling the fuse. Thanks 🍻
Just did it, now hearing this video through the speakers of my truck! Thank you so much for your time and effort.
Awesome. Thank you. Tried everything in the owners manual for a 2015 Ford escape and watched several videos but no help. Then found this. was exactly what we needed.
Awesome , this worked for my 2015 f150, it just stopped and then looked for 4 days to see what could be wrong and you solved my problem, thank you.
You definitely got me a customer to switch companies thanks to your videos! I definitely recommend you do tutorials because you knew exactly what you are doing. I appreciate your help sir.! Hope the best for you!
@Evan young
Thanks!!! Fixed my 2014 expedition in seconds using the same formula but with the right fuse. Super easy!
Thank you so much! Just fixed mine in 3 minutes! I was getting very worried that I was never gonna be able to connect it again.
THANK YOU! In my case it was fuse #3, but it also said "sync" on the fuse description. Like your, the fuse, upon visual inspection, looked good, but it turned out it wasn't. I appreciate you taking the time to upload this.
Thank you for this. My phone would connect, but not play sound, and this fixed it!
Really appreciate you making this video. My bluetooth music and video are back up
You da man, worked like a charm. Didn't realize how much I relied on music from my phone until I no longer had it.
Thank you. I started having a problem with Bluetooth immediately turning off after I had just turned it on in the Sync menu. 2011 Ford Escape so only a simple dot matrix display. Tried all the resets without success. Pulling the fuse and replacing turned out to be the fix. Again, thank you for posting this.

Thank God I just bought the same truck you have year and all haven't had it for 5 days and the sync went out on me this fixed it no problem!
Is this the same fix as pulling the negative battery terminal off for 30 seconds? Mine works fine for a couple weeks after doing that then its back to disconnecting my phone constantly
Thanks man!! I’d tried everything suggested stumbled upon your video and whalah!!!
Awesome, thanks it just fixed my sync issues in just a couple minutes.

Thanks for this. Bluetooth quit a few days ago, worked perfect.
Thank you so much!!! You saved me a headache 👍🙏
My Bluetooth would connect but my Bluetooth media would not, this worked great. 2015 Ford F-150 push start.
Worked like a charm.....thanks for posting this solution!!

Worked for my 2015 F150 thanks!
I tried this and while it temporarily fixed the Bluetooth issue, the problem resurfaced later the same day. I’ve repeated this procedure and works short term but not a permanent fix. I may have a bad Bluetooth module. Not sure.
Yea it has come back once for me too. Might also try a firmware update for Sync.
Thanks worked for my 2015
If you hold the radio power button and >> seek fwd button for 2-3sec will initiate a manual sync reset. Reboot takes 2-3mins. Fixed mine
Dude you’re a bad ass thank you it worked for my truck
Dave Frederick Eh, not that good. Lol Glad it worked :)
I'm still dealing with this. Wonder what causes it.
Thx Buddy. This fixed SYNC right up.
Worked great! thanks for doing this video.
It was very helpful
You are the man.
I have the same exact problem and it didn't work for me, I did master reset and pulled the fuse waited and put bCk in, and made sure the radio was off when I pulled the fuse and it did have a black screen but it still saying insert USB and won't play Bluetooth
Appreciate the video this helped me out for it working again 👍
Got*
Will this work for a 2016 Lariat with all options?
paul mcmahon Probably, fuse may be different. Just look in the manual to confirm.
Awesome video
Thanks brother was driving me crazy trying to pair. Did what you said and fixed in less than 5 mins What can I do to help your channel??
Wow bro, you the fiiinnnn greatest! Badass
You rock! Thanks so much for posting this video! 😁
Sync reset worked in ours ( power button and fast forward arrows hold down until it resets ).
tengo una ford f150 xlt 2014 3.7... equipada con sync, la radio solo me coje am/fm... las demas funciones no funcionan
Worked perfectly - THANKS!
dbackhusker 🤘
So my Bluetooth just went out. Went to the ford dealer and they said it will be $1200 to fix! Should I give this a try? I have a 2015 F150 XLT. Touch screen...I don’t know if that makes a difference or not
jared loucks Sounds like it couldn’t get any worse... I’ll send you my address to mail the check to if it works 😂
Couldn’t you just pulled the batter terminal?
Thk you for the Video works Now.
thank you very much you've been very helpful
This is a good temporary fix. Is there a long term fix that anyone knows about so that I wont have to donit every couple of months?
Is this work in 2016 expedition
is there a permanent fix. I have to do this about once a month. this gets to be a real hassle.
Could try updating your sync, I still need to try that. I’ve only had to do this once for reference… monthly seems pretty extreme…
Tried this. Did not work. Didn’t even lose my preset channels. Must have to pull more than just one fuse? Any ideas?
John Rivera Yea May need to confirm the plug to pull, look in your manual. Also, letting it sit for a few min will help in, let any charged capacitors draw down
Worked a treat, thanks!
Very helpful video thanks a lot
This fixed my 2019, the bluetooth in my sync 3 was basically frozen. Thanks much.
I have a question - is this something that is going to keep happening? It shouldn't in the first place, so I'm wondering.
I've had to do it twice since I made this video... Something in the Sync OS. Like anything, this is basically a force restart.
Thank you for the video it helped!!!
Mine won’t connect to anything SYNC and the usb doesn’t work...won’t even charge my phone. I tried the fuse, disconnected the battery, all the usuals. The SYNC has constantly been giving me problems since I bought it new.
Don Matulevich Sorry to hear that. I’m gonna have to probably try this again on my truck it just stopped connecting again recently.
It worked!!!! Thank you!!
Thanks! Got me going again.
Thank You! Worked perfect.
This worked perfectly! Thank you so much for posting this.
Thanks. Life saver haha
Thanks. Did the trick!
Thank you for help me out!!!
It worked, Thank you so much
2020 and your video still saved me lol I was about to go nuts 🥳
Bobby Soxer Glad to hear it! It should really work for any year, it’s basically a force reset for the radio.
Thanks you helped me lot
Appreciate this so much!!!
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Fixed it, thank you!
