I just got the game and I'm liking the whole building aspect, it's really therapeutic to just plop down trees and landscape lol. I wish that they could release a wildlife reserve mode where you can just build a forest, put down the animals that could live there, and let it take care of itself without barriers and stuff. I know there are mods for this, I just wish it was official.
You can basically do that in sandbox now. Turn off animal welfare and escapes and you can just put null barriers down (the invisible ones) and the animals will stay within them. This video is from last summer and things like this have got a whole lot easier since then!
Oh yes, this is exactly the series I’ve been looking for on UA-cam for so long. Great stuff. As for future builds, how about the Namib desert, home to desert specialists like gemsbok, springbok and ostrich as well as desert adapted elephants, lions, giraffe, rhino and zebra. The habitat is a mix of very dry mountains, sand seas, salt marshes (favored by flamingos) and dry river beds which are the preferred habitat of most of the bigger species. For inspiration google the Hoanib river and you’ll get an idea of what I’m talking about. This desert environment gives a unique take on otherwise common animal species and just shows how adaptable they have to be in order to live in such a dry desert.
Thanks ED Wildlife! Weirdly, Namibia was going to be the next episode! The Deadvlei was the idea, however the big rock mesas in the background of the desert map kinda take away from the feel I was going for so I'm revising my plans.

Wow, nice! It's hard to beat the visuals of a flooded environment, but a Serengeti environment could be fun, with a bit of challenge in making it look interesting.

I think I'd enjoy an Australian landscape with some kangaroos, dingos, koalas and possibly saltwater crocodiles as another suggestion.

Thanks Kristine! Yeh it's a lot more chilled than a speedbuild. Because my main zoo is in franchise mode I don't really have the option to make all my videos like this so I mix it up.
This is such a neat idea! Reminds me of a park that floods in the mountains certain times of year and people scuba dive in it. Beautiful!

Nice!! How are the animal populations doing or have you turned death and birth of? I did one of these last week in ‘Ecuador’ and love watching the llamas herd together in the grasslands and the baby Jaguars follow their mother. An African grassland in Kenya would be amazing. I normally research the trees before I do it! Great Work
That sounds really cool! TNH I built this in sandbox and turned everything off. The Jaguar ate a couple of tapirs before I did that though 😂

There are Jaguars & Caiman in there already. I didn't really have the space for the others unfortunately
The leaves are one of the special effect construction pieces
Hi. Can you make an actual reserve? Like pictures something like a very large empty field with a few trees and some plants, and a large watering-hole for animals to drink. Also, instead of killing each other, have the herbivores and carnivores living together side by side, like ten of each specie as well as ten of each baby. And you can add in Food Enrichments so they wouldn't go hungry.

I’m not sure, I always use custard apple trees sunk into the ground for bushes

Have you considered making a tutorial on how to turn your entire zoo into a whole habitat?

@@ZSHplays A tutorial to show how we can also turn a large of heck even an entire area within a zoo map’s borders into one large habitat that we can release animals into….

@@genetlair5999 Aha yes I understand now. There's no need for a tutorial though! Simply build in sandbox mode & turn off animal escapes. You just put null barriers down wherever you want the animals to be and they stay within them. This video is from last summer and things like this have got a whole lot easier since then!
@@ZSHplays For real? Huh strange! Last time I turned off escapes and used null barriers the animals escaped anyway! They usually return inside though!
Then again.... that was several updates ago?
@@genetlair5999 I think it was a few updates ago yeh. I've only done it for the latest Planet Wild episode but they seemed to stay in it. Oh I did it for my Turning Red vid as well and I don't remember the panda leaving the area so I think it works.
