Been listening to CCR since I was a very young man. I’m 71 now and still listen to them. They are my favorite group of all time. Just glad to see how much you enjoy their music.
Saw Fogerty do this two years ago on his tour, which included Kenny Aronoff on drums. I was lukewarm going into the show, but I shoot concerts, and Fogerty's a legend, and ZZ Top was opening, so I didn't want to miss it. I was blown away by how incredible he is on stage, the band he assembled, and just the all-out, non-stop, no-holds-barred of the whole show, start to finish.
I saw the thumbnail and immediately thought 'is it the full version with the like 6 solid minutes of the band just jamming and not wanting to end the song?' And it was. And it's great.
They listened to the blues. It's not a "bayou sound" its blues/rock n roll. They made an album called Bayou Country and the song from it, Born on the Bayou, which were inspired by old blues like Muddy Waters.

I just want to say that when I was a teenager then; long hair, tight tie-dye T-shirts and blue jeans with 3" belts; obscene coloured bell-bottomed trousers and every time CCR came on the radio then we would stampede to the record shop to get it. There were many bands back then that we simply could not get enough of - fantastic music (now being dubbed genres). Alas, it took this generation all these years to find out that there was a mountainous history load of great music and some with messages for us then which fell on deaf ears then and even today. What an extraordinary musical era it was for bands then. I am happy that I was there and that I'm now 69 y-o. Anyone out there dressed the same back then?
When your shoulders go up ..I know you are loving it.....I am 69 years old grew up with this awesome band.....Why can't they make good music like this anymore??? Timeless..
I was 14 in 1970 when my brother came home with the Cosmo's Factory album. When my father saw it he was pissed! That was up until he heard some of the songs on the album. He was a big-time country music listener. He was surprised that my uncle his brother also had the album. I bought the reel to reel in 73. Later the CD version.
John is singing with his kids on UA-cam now in quarantine. Telling stories about his life. His story about following the Grateful Dead at Woodstock was halarious!!! “Have you ever seen the rain” is my fav song of CCR.
I think only members of Isis don't like this song (5 thumbs down). No music, no dancing, no bacon. I'm glad I wasn't born in their neighbourhood, I'd be in trouble all the time.
I know, right. I just assume they are little kids who just do it hoping someone will say something about the thumbs down. They don’t even watch the videos. Haha
Imagine being in Vietnam and listening to this group. They helped me stay connected.
Every time I hear "Born on the Bayou" I think of my cousin Billy shipping out to Vietnam. It must have been playing on the radio at that time.

Give it to these boys and ya know it’s gonna be a for-real good time.
That rhythm guitar shakes me every time...great days back in the early 90`s going camping with my dad on the Natal coast in South Africa with this playing constantly...

CCR really went off and got down on this one.
This song takes me back, still as badass as ever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ come on now 🎤 drop it!
This is my favorite version of this song
0:55 just by the look on his face, I knew he liked this version from the start
I love it when you get the "shoulder shuffle" going Jamel! At least that's what I'm calling it! 😄🤘🔈🎧
I love it when Iwas just groovin' to all this great music and open my eyes and Jamel is dancing there the same way. 🤣
I shoulder shuffle all the dang time!
Hands down the best cover of this song! 🥰
When your shoulders go up ..I know you are loving it.....I am 69 years old grew up with this awesome band.....Why can't they make good music like this anymore??? Timeless..
Didn't remember how amazing their version actually is.
Have to get my Jamel Joy before turning in!
Dude, the lead vocative is John Fogerty he's been playing with his family throughout the pandemic quarantine, look him up!!
One of the best covers of Marvin Gaye I've ever heard.
But of course Marvin was covering Gladys Knight 😃
Not a cover John Fogerty is the writer of this song
Donnella Treadway no
Written by Whitfield and Strong
Who wrote many hits for Motown
@@bapples , thank you for clarifying, it makes me sense now.
Can't remember where I heard that John Fogerty wrote that.
Another great band I saw live in concert in the late 60's !! Sound and vocals were just like the recordings. Amazing for its time.
Now you have to do CCR's "Suzie-Q" Parts 1 AND 2, back to back. This is how I listen to them.
Who the hell are the people who give songs like this a thumbs down? Professional complainers, I guess... Now, check out Kansas!
I think only members of Isis don't like this song (5 thumbs down). No music, no dancing, no bacon. I'm glad I wasn't born in their neighbourhood, I'd be in trouble all the time.
that is what it is. Literally there are people who get paid for thumbs downing videos. Spambots and the like
Maybe diehard Marvin Gaye fans offended by cover songs?
I know, right. I just assume they are little kids who just do it hoping someone will say something about the thumbs down. They don’t even watch the videos. Haha
Go figure?.....
Finally someone reacted to the long version of this song .... Thank you !
I was blown away the first time I heard it! Such a banger
He actually won an award for best Soul Vocal for "Put a candle in
the Window "
Gotta hear that.
