1977 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham for sale at Volo Auto Museum (V19941)

This has been my neighbor's car since new. 1 owner with 53,795 well cared for miles. Did you have a neighbor that kept their property pristine? This was that guy. It was always garage kept and very well maintained. This car was the top of the line, loaded with options including the St Regis package. Documentation includes the original window sticker, invoice, paid receipt, salesman's business card, manuals and sales brochures.
EXTERIOR: The body is in excellent shape. Looked down either side it is straight. The paint is mostly original and shows really well. It has a smooth glossy finish. The factory pinstripe is still looking good. The St Regis package included the thick padded vinyl top with opera windows and special trim. The glass is real clear. The original chrome is shiny and straight but has some patina. Stainless moldings are shiny and straight. It has working hideaway lights and turn signal indicators on the fenders. Door jambs are clean, weather strips are still soft. 15 inch chrome wheels are on excellent shape, tires look great.
INTERIOR: I could fall asleep in theses seats! The pillow top white leather upholstery is so comfortable, I don't want to get out. It's in excellent shape from carpet to headliner. The dash area looks like it's brand new. All the woodgrain, knobs, lenses, controls are mint. The car has not been smoked in. The door panels are in excellent shape. Everything seems to be working- the radio, interior lights, even the clock. The headliner is real nice. The passenger visor has a lighted vanity mirror. Other features include power seat, locks, windows, tilt-telescopic wheel, cruise control, rear defrost, AM-FM 8-track and climate control. The plush red carpets are in excellent shape. The red seat belts are excellent. The back seat has hardly ever been sat on.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This has a smooth running 400 with electronic cleanburn computerized sparking system. Everything under the hood looks good. It is factory condition including the valve covers, air cleaner etc. The duct work is in place, squirters are hooked up etc. It does have a new radiator. The air conditioning was retrofitted to to R134 freon in 2013. The interstate battery is as big as the car. The fender tag is still attached.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Giant carpeted trunk compartment is in excellent shape. It has the jack and spare assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Very clean, preserved survivor condition. There is no rot at all. The floors, rockers and frame rails are rock solid. New shocks. Disc brakes in front, e-brake cables are hooked up.
This land yacht is pure luxury. I know for a fact it has been really well cared for since new.

The next door neighbor was a Chrysler salesman, and for a while he drove a four-door New Yorker Brougham. I stood on a chair in my parents' bedroom and gazed at the car several times each day. It was one of the most beautiful cars I had ever seen. ('66 Toronado, and '67 Eldorado were my most favorite), and to this day, I still get excited and happy to see one of these cars online. This New Yorker Brougham is gorgeous! 👍

Love those opera windows‼️Very well kept for Chicago area weather. The Cadillac of Chrysler Cars‼️Sounds really smooth running. Skirts for rear wheels add to luxurious look of this model. 😊🌞👍🇺🇲

What s remarkable New Yorker Brougham. This car represents true luxury and comfort. Having came from a long line of Mopar owners, this car really stands out! If given the same loving care it's used to, this car should offer its new owner many years of dependable service. Kudos on adding it to the Volo lineup. Well shown and described.

My father had the exact same car, in 1977. I miss that car. He bought a Caddy a year later, but I liked the New Yorker much better.

Yes, I own the last full-size Imperial model 75', but a white 4-door with the better 440" non lean burn system.Still very well built large luxury AUTOMOBLES.

My uncle had the same car, his roof was blue and the interior was blue as well. I took my driver test in it when I was 17. I still love the car today. When he traded it in it had less than ten thousand miles on it.

Beautiful car. My father had the exact same car, in 1977. The white with the St Regis roof, the white leather seats with the red accents. Was such a beautiful car, I miss that car. I still remember the smell of the leather seats. He bought a Caddy a year later, but I liked the New Yorker much better.

I'll never understand why people referred to the second half of the Seventies as the "malaise era." Most of the designs even back then seemed perfectly normal!
Had one......it was Dad's....76 with the 440.....lean burn not clean burn my friend. Beautiful car same color....except the interior was crushed maroon velour. Nice showing.

I had one of these Chryslers, with the 440 and could get 8, sometimes 9 mpg.

If I remember correctly the only engine that it came with was the 440, my dad had one that was a 4 door and it had the 440 and drank gas like crazy

Beautiful car. Seems like a small engine for such a large car. Those starters would grind forever. The a/c was converted to what?
A 400 is 6.6 liters. He said it was converted to R 134A.

Detuned smog burden engine. Lean Burn system had so many problems. This was not Chrysler’s best.

D*mn shame it doesn't have the 440 in it, I would have bought it right off the bat, otherwise! Also, it has that horrible Lean (not clean) burn system.. those things are JUNK!
