To my fellow Benz owners (e class only) i drove e class all my life (4th one now) this is THE BEST in all benz classes. HOWEVER, there s no need to get into expansive repairs or get lured into shops advise to do this or that... SERVICE A::: is a simple oil and AIR filter change and putting air in the tires. Any ordinary shop can do that for you, they will happy that they did and charged you $50 extra due to synthetic oil Benz parts what not and you save minimum $200 to $300 at a fancy dealer with a $1 cup of coffee.
If you can’t afford to do a basic service at the dealer, you can’t afford to maintain the car. Make sure y’all don’t overspend trying to impress people when you can’t afford it.
False. Doing the work conscientously oneself makes it possible to own far more luxurious vehicles, and attain higher levels of thoroughness, perfection, and wholistic care than is available at ANY dealership. This becomes even more true as vehicles age.
Many thanks for the thorough check of my 2009 E 350 on Feb 24+25. The check up disclosed some additional work and replacements beyond the Schedule A . Inasmuch as some of the work to be performed is of a safety nature, the travels by my whole family will be safer. Thanks to our Service Tech and Assistant Service Manager. Tony Kambich
quick question, I see the technicians changing oil thru the oil pan bolt, however I've heard from many MB techs they use vacuum extraction due to the design of the oil pan, and are able to remove more used oil. Ideas?
My CLK 550 doesn't have a dipstick or a tube. If you want to to check the oil you have to do it with the computer. I'm assuming they drain it from the bottom.
***** They use the extractor because they don't want to lift your vehicle and do an inspection. There is absolutely no valid reason for extracting the oil over draining it. 23 year dealer tech's opinion.
+vintagehaynesflute your wrong it does have a dipstick tube just no dip stick you dip stick lol !! And they do vacuum it out of the dip stick tube it gets all the oil out and no mess
+bicylindrico You are wrong on one aspect not that they use extractor that is correct because it gets all the oil out . They do inspect every car you know for up sales dumb ass a 23 year tech that is commission based would know that! I call bull shit on you ! You not a tech you are just dumb
10 years later. I just paid 500$ for mine. And as I got an EQA, the A service was completely pointless. They literally just topped off my washed fluid and called it a day.
At my VIN card have: 13A OIL OFFSET AMOUNT +1300 ML OIL What does that actually mean? How much oil should be added 8l or 8+1.3=9.3l? Cls x218 350cdi 4matic 2014
Yes sir, I had 2009model c200 kompresor, troble code p0045, its says supercharger boost control solenoid circuit A open, but I cannot find where is it exactly, and the kompresor not engaging,no power, plz help me out,tnx
I work as a salesperson for a Benz dealer and pre-paid maintenance saves about 30% in terms of cost of ownership. I've encouraged every one of my clients to look into it. None of them have been displeased with my suggestion.
Wow ... definitely change my own oil on my S500 for YEARS .. use the correct oil and filter and change every 3k -it’s not a space ship it’s still a car that uses oil 😂😂😂😂
Life Long Learner That's $300/year and it makes a good argument of why the trained mechanics from the 'stealership', as we all call it, instead of an independent mechanic or you. I agree that the little things can make a huge difference, especially when car tech get more complex and advanced. What's $300 in a year? Oil change and inspections that can keep you from having problems. Isn't that reasonable?
Monday, Mercedes is going to pull, clean, and re-seat the injectors. I asked that while all of the top is exposed if they would just do a little clean up around the area. Spray a bit of degreaser and wipe it down. I hope I didn't overstep client garage relations.
If you notice Mercedes and bmw are the EASIEST cars to work on as far as where things are placed on the car and how they are removed you would think how advanced and sophisticated the car is it will be welded together but most of the car is held together by simple bolts and a lot of plastic and plastic clips.. parts are put in places where they come off easy .. I’m not speaking on the reliability lol but just the parts themselves.. most times you don’t even have to jack the car up to change the oil on these cars as the oil pan plug is so far in front of the car you an just reach under.. oil filter on top of engine..they design these cars and service intervals to scare you into the dealership so you pay a big price for an easy fix by there mechanic...stop being lazy and use google😂😂 you’ll see their bullshit .. I love Mercedes and there reliability.. bmw not as reliable but I can change the oil and filter faster in half the time on my S500 then my Chevy Tahoe or my wife’s Kia 😂😂

thank you! I was taking mine to them in a few days and they are charging me 425!
"No I'll just use a cheap $4 Walmart filter I bought on my 85,000 car" customers crack me up
I buy the Filter from Mercedes and change it myself
I order mann filters, the exact ones they use…

+vintagehaynesflute Wrong. There is a 'workshop' dipstick to check oil level graduated in mm.
how much can I expect for servicing a Mercedes Benz S-Class 550 every year, give me the detail in cost
Can use another seal you donuts and why you changing the oil its still good
approximate cost for A service is $300 (in NYC dealerships)

My pleasure.what's your ethnicity?
yep thats what we did for the 3 yr plan.
Aimee Thomas Too bad they don't include all the things 'recommended' by MB during a service. They only include items that may effect warranty claims.

Why doesn’t it just say
Oil change service, brake service, vehicle check
Like a BMW
Why must it be so hard to find out what service a3 means??
Is that tony robins speaking ?
Jon Hamm.
Cost me about $60 for oil change ! Just replaced the cabin filter for $20 but it was pain in the butt !
Got a 2014 cla , maintenance is hella cheap😂assuming you do it yourself
The only problem is how to reset the maintenance counter. The tools cost $150 from what I seen. Is this what everyone has that does it themselves?
Skorp Saiyan are you talking about reseting the oil light?
No need for $150 tool when it can all be learned through a simple google search or UA-cam.
Easy find on UA-cam
NO YOU DON'T NEED THAT
What means service A2 at Mercedes glc 250 4matic 2016?
A great ad if you're into spending money at a Mercedes dealership. I wonder who funded this video? The dealership association perhaps.

Ok so, I just had an A service for 500$... What did they do?
Nothing, they told me everything was good and topped off my washer fluid.
WTF!
Thank you for your video
You can't do Service a or b you shouldn't be driving a Mercedes Benz.
Facts
You know when you see a picture of a Big Mac, and you order one and it looks nothing like the one in the picture?
Uh huh...
i dont know, i love my glk, i do the service as it lets me know, i dont have any problem with my car, just drive and enjoy.
Price gauging
Buy the oil filter at mercedes dealer and mobil 1 oil and you can change the oil for $50 instead of $400 they charhe
The technician did replace the oil filter housing seal…. He did however forgot the oil filter itself 🤷🏼♂️
How to reset my PIN
oooh... ahhh... an "o-ring"... a multi-point inspection!!
What model is that 😻😻
Music too loud
So if I use a 3rd party gasket my car will explode!
Is it too late to take my 770 for a service? ;)
Can someone tell me what is A9 service
i was at the dealer today, a is the same the number after it is how many times it as been, A1, A2 etc
Great info here
Is that Tony Robbins narrating the video ? :)
no don drapper
I was hoping to find out information, but just got an advertisement instead! Worthless.
