Honestly, I dropped out of college because it isn't for me. I do not like classroom learning, I hate assignments, lectures and all that nonsense. It simply bores me to death and I quickly ran out of motivation, and just started procrastinating (and failing). I didn't want a trade job either. I started an online business, and learned as I went through self study and application of what I had studied. Both high school and college were places of torture to me. I was more worried about grades than actually learning anything. It was just an endless cycle of cram and forget, in the end I hardly learned almost nothing.

It's crazy to think at 18 we should know what we want to do with our lives. At first I wanted to be a mechanic then a business owner now an RN. I've almost got my ABA and will be getting my BBA then turning around and getting a ADN later a BSN the only good thing is the ADN and BSN will be faster because of all the prerequisites I'll have completed. But now I've taken extra college classes because I was wrong about what I wanted because of expectations. The good news is I go to a lot cheaper college and financial aid covers the low fees. So I'm still currently debt free.

I'm 23. I learned online that the human brain doesn't fully develop until age 25 or 26. So I don't think we young adults should be pushed at 18, nor vote or gamble at 18 and 21. Because we are still young and dumb and make bad decisions.

My sister is currently 19 years old. Her teachers/family members kept pressuring the idea that she must graduate from a four year college or she'd be stuck at minimum wage jobs her whole life. Now my parents aren't too happy about footing the bill for her to get a general music degree.
I wonder how Dave Ramsey feels about those people who say "It doesn't matter what you go to college for. Just the fact that you have a degree makes employers take you more seriously! It could lead into other things." Like what?

Universities have 2 sales pitches to hook students.
One is to sell them on the more marketable majors like: STEM or business.
then, for the students who do. not want to. major in a maketable major, there is still the idea that its the professional networks and. connections you make that really get you a job. Problem is, there is tens of thousands of students graduating with marketable degrees from prestigous universities, and some of them are having a hard time finding a job. So, if you have a liberal arts degree from a mid tier state. college, you are competing with them and still have student loans to deal with.

Yes, but be smart at what you choose and where you go. Stick to the accredited state colleges. Schools advertising on daytime TV are potential cons.
Also, while a degree is required for advancement at many places it is not a guarantee to success. So be deliberate in your choice and develop a game plan.

Better to consider a business when you have some type of backup skill to make income.
Just saying to start a business really means nothing if you have no other income.
