This video barely scratched the surface when it comes to japanese exclusive titles for the ps1, glad you enjoyed watching i hope to do a saturn version soon
Great list - but just for your info having the name only before you show and talk about the game is really watcher unfriendly. You get to see the game, decide it looks appealing and then you have to rewind to find the name. Some youtubers keep the name on screen or have the names in the description or remind the watcher what the game name is at the end. Any of these really helps
Great video. Had a fair few of these before selling the majority of my collection. Would love to see more videos along the same lines for Saturn etc. Only thing I would personally like to see is perhaps a little more info on each game covered but that’s purely personal preference I guess.
interesting list, i'll check out raguaki showtime since i remember reading about it long time ago, and it does look interesting (sorta like a dragon ball Z legends, another japan exclusive title that is absolutely worth playing)
Well I'll be, I've got some imports to try out, with one super cheap. Though there are some I'll have to emulate because they go for stupid prices online. Thanks for the video.
lol i played deep freeze recently and well its an alright game but is funny as hell. racing lagoon was pretty awesome but i wish it had a translation. popntank looks fun i should look into that one. i played a rurouni kenshin game on PS1 but it was a 3D fighter and it was enjoyable but would like to play the RPG one. panzer bandit is indeed amazing always nice to hear more talk about that game
I came here hoping to find it on the list but nope ! So there was once a dynasty warriors like PS1 game I do believe it was Japanese only as no language options... The first level is an open field your character was wearing yellowish with a rifle and you fight horde of enemies in an open map with a radar there were several weapons I believe difference is rate of fire and power a big laser rifle with one character. Looked for it for years, still can't seem to find it! Hope you know what I am talking about
I have no desire to play imports but I love videos like these because it gives me an idea of some of the games that would of interested me if they were lucky enough to break into the North American Market. 20.) Captain Commando - I would of loved this game because capcom and beat'em up games go hand and hand and this would of definitely been another winning combination from Capcom. 19.) Samurai Deeper Kyo - I would never turn down an anime style fighting game. This one seems more than competent. 18.) Deep Freeze - I don't have any interest to play it. 17.) Macross: Do You Remember Love - I've seen so many reviews for this game and it is a beautiful work of art and its a crying shame this didn't make its way overseas especially with how well received macross/robotech has been for western audiences. 16.) Racing Lagoon - I don't have any interest to play it. 15.) Sexy Parodious - I really wanted this game to have a North American release. This game caters to me in every possible way with its awesome cute'em up action and awesome anime style sprites. 14.) Airgrave - Just awesome shoot'em up goodness. It makes me wish that the north american market had more faith in the shoot'em up genre during the 32 bit era. 13.) Pop'n Tanks 2 - The dominion tank police fan in me would love a game like this. 12.) Umihara Kawase Shun - The music and visual aesthetic of this game is beyond beautiful. Why couldn't more platformers have this adorable aspect associated with them. 11.) Ganbare Goemon - Oh wow. I loved legend of the mystical ninja for the snes and this game looks like its a more fleshed out version of that game. RPG's Atellier Annie - I just love that old school anime look so much. Rurouni Kenshin - Never even knew that his critically acclaimed anime even had a game release. Brave Prove - anime style hack and slash rpg goodness is a winner in my book. Tales of Phantasia - I've heard a lot of people say the same thing that the ps1 version is the definitive way to play and enjoy this first entry in the tales series. Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers - Another awesome side entry in the shin megemi tensei series. 10.) Cyberbots - Another winning formula for capcom and their tendency to make awesome fighting games. 9.) Geppy X - A game using that traditional 70's anime vibe. That sounds like a winning combination for me. 8.) Mr Driller G - More Mr Driller is always a good thing. 7.) Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counterattack - Oh Wow. I didn't even know this game existed and those graphics are incredibly well polished for a ps1 title. 6.) Twilight Syndrome Tansakuhen - I have no interest in playing it. 5.) Ragugaki Showtime - That's actually a very strange art style mixed in with some obscure game play but it actually appeals to me in some strange way. 4.) Panzer Bandit - That game looks surprisingly good and the controls look incredibly tight. 3.) DoDonPachi - Of course you know that one is going to be there. Western audiences have always got shafted on the dodonpachi license but its known as one of the best shoot'em up series of all time and with good reason. 2.) Policenauts - You knew this game was going to be there but policenauts and snatcher were games that were far ahead of its time and I don't think audiences really gravitated towards how important these games are to the video game industry as a whole. 1.) Metal Slug - It took way too long for metal slug to gain any traction in the west and its a crying shame because despite all the entries in the metal slug series, its been one of the most consistent video game series with regards to its addictive gameplay. It's official, the north american market fucked themselves over by not bringing these games to the west because out of all the games mentioned, only three of them did not appeal to me so that means I would of bought all these titles for full price if they were released in the north american market.
I know sony like bandai had been involved in gaming for years but the ps1 was their first attempt to take on the established giants of sega, nintendo and even the 3do, thanks for checking out the video man.
Racing Lagoon has the most realistic lighting I've ever seen. I can't believe such technology could fit into PS1 XD
awesome video man. got some downloaded for my MiSTER thanks to this ^^

@@Consoletronix Hell yeah, I'll subscribe for that

You are very entertaining! 👍
Thank you
Lost Minazurna Falls.((
Dragon Quest 4, Dragon Quest Monsters 1+2 (one disk), and the Tobal no 1 sequel(we got the original). All games I mentioned involve Akira Toriyama.
Awesome list. I have not heard of many of these. Hopefully you will do more of these for the PS1.
Thanks for watching man, i'm currently working on a video looking at some of the best shoot 'em ups for the ps1.
Excellent list mate, I would add front mission 2 to the list!
Amen to that shame about that partial translation I printed out the script just so I could follow the story
Hands down one of the dopest youtube lists I've ever come across on YT, thank your for the education!
Thanks for the kind words glad you enjoyed it.
Thx for Japanese PS1 exclusive info.
You're welcome bro
I need to start looking at the imports a bit more, they all look great 👍🏻
These imports are really good. Gonna have to try some of them out!! Great vid. Thanks for sharing.
Great video, I saw some games here that were new to me and I have been looking into Japanese PS1 games for years.
A good selection. I'll have to keep an eye out for a couple of these when I go to the shops
I love how the countdown in Samurai Deeper Kyo is written in Kanji instead of Arabic numerals
Nice one mate, some cool looking stuff in there that i'd be interested to pick up!

cool mix of games. found some new i wanna pla
I feel like ps5 doesn't have such experiemental games anymore.
interesting list, i'll check out raguaki showtime since i remember reading about it long time ago, and it does look interesting (sorta like a dragon ball Z legends, another japan exclusive title that is absolutely worth playing)
I'd like to see a top import Game Gear games video.

This is only the tip of the iceberg as far as import games for the ps1 go

isn't metal slug x released in US too?
Metal Slug 1 didn't, which is number 1 on this list but the footage used is Metal Slug X and he has explained the reason in the video.
Very good

No eternal wings?
Good video.

Good stuff. Seems like sometimes the far east had a better deal with games and not ust for this system .
Metal Slug X was released in the West m8, look it up
I know it was i said so in the video
@@Consoletronix ah sorry, missed that! my apologies man. love you channel
You forgot front mission 2

@@Consoletronix Just me being pedantic, but great list :-)
No Tear Ring Saga!?
pepsiman?
Real Bout Special: Dominated Mind is missing. The best 2d fighting game on the PS1, better than Alpha 2 & 3.
Dodon looks grainy
Jeez can u give some info instead of 15 sec clips
Dark messiaj
Dammmmmmn XD
Thanks for checking it out bro
