Only in flashback. Summer is supposed to be out of the picture so no complete team. As for even three of them getting together. There is a lot of bad blood there. I doubt that will ever happen. What I would like to see is a Team STRQ flashback episode. I am sure such an episode would be a bigger info dump than even episode 6x3!
The reason why Raven went to Tai was that he was her only way out. Yang, Crow and Oz were at the academy with Raven, and Vernal was dead. Tai was the only one she could teleport to

If nothing is to happen between them, I think they would have just shown us her going away like they did and saying she went back to her tribe. And Tai's expression as well was probably on purpose.
but she literally left her family for them, so obviously she’d have bonded with them. She feeds them, does anything for them so they all survive they’re her way of a family.
Have to keep in mind, without her tribe, Raven is in hidding. That's the whole reason she had Vernal pretend to be the Maiden. Maidens are hunted. Raven ran back to the safest place she knows, Tai. (Much to Tai's displeasure from that post credit scene) Salem would not have trusted ANY one else in the Tribe with her secret. Just Vernal. (She barely trusts anyone period.) Vernal seemed dedicated to following Raven. I am guessing Raven nurtured her for years to be her closest confidant. Practically a daughter. (One of the reasons why she wanted Yang to stay.) So no, she did not bond with any other tribe members. Else she would have went back to the tribe and not Tai. She is cut off from the tribe, unless they have a prearranged meeting place. Even then, she scared because her secret is out so no going back to the tribe for now even if she could. I was so looking forward to an episode where Tai and Raven sit down for a real talk. It could have been an excuse to have a Team STRQ flashback.
I am in favour of Raven breaking Qrow and Robyn out of their captivity. Maybe even be the one to snap Qrow out of his guilt with a speech along the lines of "You cannot change the past and undo your regrets."
I doubt Qrow needs to be saved. I think he can escape Anytime he wants to thanks to his not-so-well-known abilities. I think he let himself be captured. Using it as the fastest way to get the Ironwood for "revenge". (Or so it implied.) I also think Raven is well aware of that and knows she does not need to waste time rescuing him.

I was also referring to his ability to turn into a Bird which I am guessing is not public knowledge. When the time is right, the guards may just see a par of empty cuffs and a feather on the floor. Am I the only person that believes that raven was with summer during her death. It seems to me that they had a close connection to each other. I think that raven sensed summer’s despair, guilt; etc while she was dying so raven went to check up on her, not knowing that summer was dying, and stayed with her during her last breath. Raven probably talks about summer in a condescending tone because she feels guilty for not saving summer.

I dont know about torchwick coming back because his voice actor left the company on what I would say with bad blood. I would love if torchwick came back and went out for revenge against Salem, Neo being there could be the creation relics purpose. There are a lot of things that we could see but I doubt anything eventful will happen with vol. 8
What could Zwei have for a new outfit, like a bandanna? I could see Raven getting herself a new mask, perhaps one that looks less like a grimm, beyond that I could see her going all out on furs and feathers atop her samurai aesthetic Taiyang I could see having something akin to Yang, perhaps going all in on either the biker or Cowboy aesthetic
I feel as if Raven does return, she would go to Qrow because since Qrow is serious hurt from what happened at the end of volume 7 episode 12, Raven is going to help Qrow get out of the ship and help I’m either helping him get back to team rwby since Raven has a connection to Yang or help him go after Tyrian (just saying I would love to see Tyrian vs the Branwen Twin,YES) but yeah that’s my thought but Raven has to come back.
As fantastic as that scenario sounds, Raven would have to turn over her self serving personality for that to happen. Helping someone else out (especially her brother) for a cause that does not directly benefit her? We're talking about a totally reformed Raven. Also, Qrow might have had it with teaming up with others in a fight. Especially a former adversary. If you know what I mean. Additionally, I think Qrow can escape on his own when ever he wants to and doesn't need rescuing. The only thing keeping him in those cuffs is his guilt and a free ride to Atlas to confront James.
I think Raven is the one who used the first question of the lamp, she was so fierce about not joining with Ozpin and how they were being fools by trusting him and she said that if Yang stayed with her she would tell her much more than she had said, but that's just what i think.
I could see her with a wide array of weapons my top guesses being Sniper Rifle, Whip, and a bladed crook Taiyang, I could see with a double barreled equivalent of Ember Celica, or Some form of Gunchucks

I believe her "emotional bond" based semblance doesn't necessarily mean empathetic connections. Notice it has always been labeled vaguely as a strong EMOTIONAL bond. For all we know, the bonds can be with any emotion. She could probably portal to her most hated enemy she has a personal connection with. Because her bond with that person is hatred. So therefor, assuming her semblance doesn't just forget who the man is because he died and reincarnated, she can portal her way to Ozpin, a man she seems to have a strong grudge against. Edit: Not to mention she seems to have something against her brother, unless her feud with him at Haven was a ruse for the relic. She attacked him head on, and straight up said "i want my brother dead". She also sarcastically questioned if they were ever a family. But she's still able to portal to him.
I think what she did it on her last encounter with her twin brother was on purpose so that Cinder could believe her. That's all I don't think she meant it.
Wow I was seriously just thinking about this just a few weeks ago, almost exactly. I was starting to think I was the only one who considered Raven must have a literal link to someone and is able to sense their emotions or that they’re in danger. That’s really the only explanation on how she knew to save Yang in V2. With everything stacked against team RWBY and co this volume, it’s the perfect opportunity to bring Raven and even Tai back into the action. Especially since Qrow is probably going to feel so distraught, angry and lost. He even mentions during his fight with Clover that fights always start with his friends, Clover was his only real friend. I think Raven and Tai coming back and helping him will be good for his psyche.
I’m thinking qrow will try and fight either IW or Tyrian and almost will almost die but before the fatal blow Raven will fly out of a portal with Tai in toe and they’ll save him. (We could finally see Tai in action with his weapon if he has one) The reason I think Tai would be with Raven would be after vol 5 Raven went to Tai and told him everything that happened and afterwards they started rekindling their friendship Then near the end of the volume Raven could die and give her maiden powers to Yang

You heard that from the recent convention where Miles did mention that we will be getting backstory on a character 3 volumes later than they wanted to show... That could be a couple of characters. That could be Raven as she was introduced in V5... It could be Cinder, if they were originally intending to show her backstory in V4. It could be Nora, as you mentioned... Here is where it gets controversial... it could be Hazel. In V5's commentary we've distinctly been told that Oz's side of things about Gretchen was not the whole story and that they would explain more about Hazel's view in the future. I too am expecting Raven's return in V8 though. Here is how I see it... Ironwood moves to publicly execute Qrow and Robin for their part in Clover's death. Before the order is executed, Raven rescues Robin and Qrow by using her Maiden Powers to stop whatever Atlas execution method was in place and escapes with them.
Raven is one of my favorite characters. My personal belief/theory/hope is that she'll eventually realise the love for her daughter is higher than the fear for Salem and when team RWBY fights Salem and Yang is about to take a fatal blow,that's when you hear the portal sound and she saves Yang. But if she brings Taiyang with her and maybe Oobleck and Port it would be so much hype. My belief is very similar to yours but I love both. Go finally cuddle with your daughter,god dammit Raven!

Something tangently related - when Raven met up with Qrow in the tavern, the mask seemed to cause Qrow to hesitate to sit down. It wasn't until Raven moved the mssk from between them hit sat down. Also, when when she did, she rolled her eyes. I'd stll like to know what that was about. Also, what did Neo see in Raven to cause her to flee in fear? Did she know about Raven, or suddenly see her come through a portal, or what?
A bit late to this comment but I feel like Neo was just shocked that someone was actually able to land a good hit on her, albeit it was from surprise. From what we've seen, Neo is pretty powerful (still waiting for her backstory), she's well versed in combat and almost defeated Cinder without Maiden Powers. Imagine you're about to defeat this blonde girl, who've you were easily able to knock out without her laying a finger on you. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a portal appears and this woman with a long ass sword manages to land a hit on you twice. I'd piss myself if that happened lmao. But there is a possibility that she's heard of Raven. Cinder knew who she was and described her as a strong, cunning leader. People have probably heard of the Branwen tribe, since they seem to be behind a lot of the village raids in Anima.
A team STRQ episode would have so much potential if done right and completely. Depending on how far back it goes. - The initial formation of STRQ. Qrow and Raven put on the team. - Their interaction with Oz, how that trust was built up. - Perhaps a sample of STRQ handling a typical mission, showing off just how good they were. - Maybe cameos of previously mentioned characters like Qrow's friend Shiro, Hazel's sister, etc. - Qrow tricked into a skirt. - Birth of Yang - Raven skipping out and the reasoning's behind it. - Details on how Raven learned what she knows. - Birth of Ruby - Summer's reasonings for going out after Salem and whether Raven or Qrow had anything to do with her demise. - Some detail on what caused Qrow's descent into alcoholism. - More explanation/detail on the under-pinnings of Qrow and Ruby's family relationship. - Perhaps showing exactly what happened to Summer on her 'mission'. Sadly, I feel that this would need two episodes for all this to be covered. We'll be lucky if we even get one episode at this point.
Kinda unrelated and it's probably already been thought of but the wavern from valume 3 was imprisoned/petrified by summer rose on a secret mission before she disappeared
While I do believe most of the reasons to have a connection to all of the protagonists, I am not fully convinced that she would have any willingness to help Ozpin out of all people. Yes, she did convince me that she meant it when she said "I'm sorry" to Yang and that her reasons for not being model parent were backed by something, and that despite not being model parent, she's still far from being the worst of all parents; nevertheless, that's very much only in the Yang department and has nothing to do with her distrust of Ozpin. At the end of volume 5, she still had the same feelings towards him that she had when she lectured Yang and Weiss about him at her camp. IF she does end up helping him, it will most likely be for the sake of helping Yang and more for the sake of surviving than for the sake of trying to defeat Salem.
I would like to see at least one episode or scene dedicated to the conversation that Raven had with Tai after volume 5. I want to see Raven confess how selfish she had become and Tai telling her that it isn't too late to make amends, with both of them deciding to go aid team RWBY and co in Atlas. Also, I want to Yang confess that she knew that her mum is the current spring maiden and explain why she didn't mention this info to her team. And another thing, I just had a vision in my head Zwei (assuming he'll be coming along)biting Tyrion in the bum whilst fighting Qrow, lol.
🤔 I just had a thought about the volume 7 intro of RWBY about the little scene we got of Tyrian attacking Robyn, what if that was intended for volume 8, since volume 8 is a continuation of volume 7 maybe that little scene was actually Qrow and Robyn going after Tyrian in volume 8. The reason I thought about this is because I rewatched the volume 7 intro and Qrow’s face during that little scene is a face that shows not just anger but the face of wanting someone dead.
I hope we will have the return of the white fang and roman as well. Like this: The white fang lieutenant escaped somehow and is now in Vacuo, trying to recruit new faunus and restore the white fang Adam wanted. But he is not alone, in fact he is assisted by a misterious figure with an apaty grimm mask called Ash, but their partnership is a bit unstable since the lieutenant seems lo lack the ways to grant Ash what he wants....to find someone. Anyway team RWBY and co ends up fighting the duo and their goons...but Maria finds weird that the lieutenant friend has a apathy grimm mask since it is a quite rare kind of grimm very few people have ever seen in their lives, so she asks if he is a survivor of the Brunswick farm, ash is very surprised they know of the farm but then he nods, also Sun, who has joined the group along with coffee and the rest of his team, find his combat style with a cane like weapon familiar...so making brunsWICK plus that he realize he is Roman...Ruby says that is impossible but then Ash removes his mask comfirming Sun's theory.
what still bothers me is that the casts kept complaining about how to beat salem. i could've sworn the answer was right in front of us even the gods gave us the answer find the relics and we shall be summoned since the only ones who can destroy her are the gods themselves. I also feel like Neo will end up becoming a antihero because she might be confronted by Ruby since they both understand what its like to lose someone, that's at least in my little theory. Also i would like to know a little bit about Cinder Falls backsory and why she is the way she is.
On the note of Tai and how he fights, its probably similar too Arslan Altan (The leader of team ABRN) as in he fights using just his fists. He already know he's proficient in CQC seeing as how he trained Yang and he also knows how too use his aura too a larger degree than most others, seeing as how he was the one too talk too Yang about her semblance and how she uses it. If he were too have a weapon I would say its something like brass knuckles or something of the sort, something that serves a similar function too but is not a direct copy of Yang's weapon. I won't even try too guess his semblance since we have had zero hint too what it actually is.
I love the comparison to Arslan and it makes a lot of sense. Arslan uses her weapon as more of a support instead of her main fighting style and I can definitely see that for Tai. Great idea!
I'm not, either. We know for now three bonding of Raven : Qrow, Yang and Tai, brother, daughter and (ex)lover. Bond with Ozpin doesn't seem to hold the strenght of this ones. With Tai we know the bond is not necessarily familly related but again, a teacher is not the same thing than a lover (well, most of time... teach me to be naughty, sensei and stuff). Possibly I think Raven could have shared a bond with Summer and Vernal, but not much anyone else...
@@cora-illus I do too in fact but for now it's only interpretation. However you're right, she necessarily had to share a bond with someone in the tribe and Vernal is the far most likely. Also I'm inclined to think that Raven didn't had a bond with anyone else in the tribe (she didn't return to the tribe after Yang's speech and went directly to Taiyan - at least it's what is suggested by the stagging).
Well we don't know the extend off Salem's forces yet. The thing i'm wondering is what Salem is capable off. We have seen Salem making adjastments to grimm, we also know Cinder received a grimm arm from Salem. So the thing I'm thinking is: Can Salem make Grimm that resemble fallen people? If so we can surely expect some familiar faces. One off these I was thinking about Roman, We have Neo in Atlas, so if we have Neo seeing a grimm version off Roman could make off a very emotional scene. Another would be Pyrrha, we have the rest off team JNPR there. The third would be Vernal, this could mean a rematch between Weiss and Vernal, but if we get team STRQ in volume 8, this could also make for a amazing scene between Raven and Vernal. I am excited for volume 8 regardless.
as for Raven porting to Qrow in chains....might let us get another glimpse of Real Raven when Qrow don't respond as she expects, thus showing how far down he is. and if indeed her talent lets her 'feel' her connected ones, she may not need that.
Phoenix's theory that Raven can feel the strong emotions of those connected to her but if say someone she had a connection to lost their memories would she still have a connection to them as there are no longer the same person mentally as they were before this could be away summer survived and no one knows where she is because she doesn't know who she is

That would have been amazing and made Volume 8 so much harder to wait for! I like the way Volume 7 ended though and when Raven returns it'll be a nice surprise
Speaking of the upcoming events in V8, I wonder if the expected release date in october will be pushed forward due to the current issues in the country. I think production would be impacted somehow.
I had been expecting Raven's reappearance, especially in combination with some kind of a team STRQ flashback, since V6. Not going to hold my breath on this. If it happens, Great! If not, I've given up on it already. I also won't be too thrilled with Raven just being dropped in out of nowhere without any proper lead-up as to where she's been, what she's been up to. V5 had her running back to Tai.
I think the simple fact that she is the spring maiden means that we will see Raven again at some point. Seeing a team STRQ reunion and possibly a backstory would be really good though not sure Rooster Teeth will do it next volume because didn’t they say that Volume 8 would be shorter than the others?
Say what you want about ironwood, but at least on paper, he had a solid plan, ozpin on the other hand, plan boils down to an eternal game of keep away.
Another good video. Raven to me was always a mysterious character since introduce, but when V5 happened I found that she has more depth than I thought, especially after the whole maiden fiasco. Though if they bring her in for V8 I NEED backstory of her and Qrow along with team STRQ (which I hope then leads to some Summer Rose backstory, maybe even some voice acting for her). Speaking of her semblance; do you think Raven felt Summer's emotions as she went confront Salem? If so can we get outright confirmation of death? I'm a firm believer that there is something afoot, and that Summer Rose isn't as dead as the the show makes out. I'd love to know what you think though, and can't wait for the next video
If Raven comes back, I think it is going to be after Ruby is captured by Salem and the rest of RWBY is about to be killed. Deus ex Machina for the win!
I dont know if Raven would come back to the series next volume but I think we can all safely assume that it is pretty much set up that she will eventually return to the series's main plot simply because she is a maiden
It’s Ironic that Raven is person that most of times don’t really want to be connected to other people have semblance that demand her to have connection to others .Her sibling/twin have semblance that make him to be far away from close one for their own sake .
quick point; one thing I want to see in volume 8; someone managing to slice Salem's arm or leg, to the point of the limb, for the space of time required for the blade to pass through, existing as separate from the body. what happens? (and no, I'm not referring to innards or fluids. I'd like to see how it happens that the limb gets restored. seamlessly, even as the blade passes out the other side? or will she need to reattach it manually? or maybe even create a new one? clearly it has happened, as I doubt everyone she asked to try killing her did the stabbing thing.
Same thing happened when Vernal came through the portal in 5x11. No way back to the tribe except via conventional travel. Though it is possible that Raven was not counting on returning to the Tribe anytime soon. Also, the whole plan was Cinder's, who insisted the "Spring Maiden" come as well, being needed for the vault so Raven had no choice.
DMM Tech Raven went back to the tribe through her Tai portal, and I’d guess that having an all powerful relic would be worth traveling one continent, especially when she has supernatural powers and can turn into a bird. So going along with Vernal makes sense
@@Art-zp1qg I wonder about that. I think Tai was nowhere near the tribe. Different continent I think. As for going after the relic, I doubt Raven had a choice. Cinder backed her into a corner. She and Vernal were forced to go. Cinder needed Raven for the Portals to get to haven, bypassing the authorities. And she needed Vernal to open the vault. (Not sure if Cinder knew about the bird thing.) Otherwise, I doubt Raven would have brought Vernal, her gateway back to the tribe, along. I think Vernal always remained behind to provide a quick return to the Tribe for Raven after a mission. Plus, she seemed to be second in command and probably took over for Raven when she was away. Cinder expected this to be a one way trip for both of them. She didn't really care if Raven was loosing her portal back to the tribe. As calculating as Raven is, she saw the writing on the wall and had her own plan to kill Cinder first, grab the relic and portal to Tai to get clear. Presumably with Vernal in tow since she was no longer a viable portal point. Then make it back to the tribe once safe.
PLEASE GOD I neeeeeed the interactions imo Raven is so important to the story (especially on Yangs behalf) and honestly Yang becoming the next Spring Maiden is inevitable.
Tai should stay behind if Raven goes to Atlas, If the team need to get out of there in the wake of the mass destruction to secure their lives or even a relic, teleporting to Tai will be their best option.
That would be great if team STRQ were to reunite with Ozpin and finally have some back story along with telling more about Summer and what she was like and following up with revealing what happened to her. I have high hopes for Volume 8, but there's always the possibility that the volume may not cover this at all and may focus on other subjects the entire time. -EDIT: We need these moments. Enough time and volumes have passed and the story is now at where they should be revealed.
In my opinion the idea of Raven having not just being able to use portals but to sense the emotional state of those close to you would be very hard to deal with. It would also explain a lot more about her character in my opinion. It makes me like her even more.
OOOh a lot of potential!!!!!! I think she would return on her own with out Tai initially to help Qrow (save one time rule like with Yang), sense and deal with Ozpin, and then assist RWBY which she would make clear was not her original intention until she realised her fear (Salem) was here anyway and she needs to finally face it, like she face Tai the end of Volume 5. After this in think her and Yang could start to build a relationship. Would love to see her interact with Blake aswell, as she is the one that came back as were unlike Raven. Blake might even act as a bridge initionally.
I think there are less chances of raven's return because ruby already has penny and having another maiden might put a target on her back but I personally would love raven's return and tai''s return and team strq reunion
Can you do a video on what Salem can do with the relics? Now here me out here before you say no. I think I said in a previous video that I cannot believe that throughout the whole war between Salem and Ozpin. Salem did not have at least one relic in her possession at least once. I mean it is possible that she knows something about the Relics that Ozpin doesn't, right? Also I good idea for you versus videos. How about Winter Vs Adam. Could Adam have taken on the strongest member of the SDC if he had the chance, what do ya think?
Hmm okay. Not a whole lot I can add since much of it is stuff I already said myself. I'll say Raven likely never intended to kill Qrow and it was just a ploy to get him and the others there to distract Salem's goons. I also don't believe she went to Tai to reconcile but simply had no other options since she doesn't seem to get along with anyone in her tribe but Vernal. But I did have one random idea. Since aura can semblances stronger. I wonder if Raven can widen the size of her portal. Its a little out there but it she can open a portal offensively to then immediately cut it half way. Could she fly up. Open a massive portal to lead the whale into and then cut it off half way in.
That would be an interesting way to defeat the whale if Jaune amped her semblance. There are still a lot of questions about aura and semblance we need answers for
Phoenix/Night Not only that. But if Cinder is any indication. It seems as if maiden magic itself amplifies aura. So if Jaune and her own magic can boost it. That would be one massive portal.
There is a scene in volume 4 where Tai and Yang are sparring, Tai is very skilled in hand-to-hand combat and gives Yang some tips. So maybe Tai has gauntlets like Yang and taught her how to fight?
I think we are forgetting something qrow can turn into a bird no one knows about that except team rwby and it isn't a semblance so even if he was in a cell with semblance blocking tech he could still escape anytime he wanted although in his current emotional state he may need a shove to get back in the fight

Maybe her semblance allows her to "scry" the locations of people she's linked, i'd either put Tais weapons as nothing like hazel or a club of some sort.
I want to see Raven call Tai out on not being a good dad let alone a good parent and mark down how he sits around and does nothing next to Qrow, who he seems to belittle with stories to Port and Oobleck in the off time as he sits around doing nothing. I'm pretty sure she knows she's a bad mom and I think she has her reasons. She doesn't want Yang to be like her and would rather push her away to be cared for by better people. Unfortunately. Tai isn't exactly a great example of a parent either given Qrow seems to be the one that has always been around for both Yang and Ruby as a parental figure and a mentor. Tai says a lot of stuff that is pig headed and doesn't make sense in regards to Yang using her semblance or in general and seems to not have regrets to the day about refusing to tell her about Raven and how her and Ruby would be dead had Qrow not been around to save them. We've been told he's going out on missions again soon in V3 and that he's helping with Beacon in V4 by Ruby but the most we've seen him out of the house is watering flowers and getting groceries. I think her expectations from being the younger more impressionable one are stretched. Maybe he's helped a bit but I dont think he's done as much as he claims he has. But if you tell RT fans that Tai is an ideal father figure and he's voiced by Burnie they'll believe that over any speculation garnished by little details.
Does anyone else think it would be really cool if Ruby and Raven had a conversation about team STRQ and Summer. Not to say that Yang, Qrow or Tai wouldn't be there for it, but seeing as that Ruby and Raven have only ever shared a few brief sentences with each other, and then Raven opening a portal to blast Ruby with a fireball. It shows that Raven has or had some animosity towards Summer, and Ruby be extension, but it would interesting to see that conversation between people who have such connection through the people they know and are related to, speaking of which, what is Ruby and Raven relationship anyway? Are they Ex mother-daughter in law? Anyway, anybody else think that? I think it would be interesting.
I would love it if Raven came back and helped out Qrow after being filled in on what happened maybe they could work together with Tai and sort out their differences somewhat. Or maybe she could meet Willow and the two could learn about their different lifestyles and ways they could rebuild their relationships with those around them if they’re willing to start over. the one thing I hope for, in Volume 8, is ruby and company needing to find a way to convince the entire atlas military, what's left of the ace-ops, and winter, to NOT arrest them, but to let them help save their kingdom as much as possible, my only concern is the now crazed and mad man general ironwood, it's obvious that's gonna give them a hard time, and it's also obvious that he'll be overthrown, cause qrow did promise clover, before he died, that he'll make sure that ironwood will take the fall for his actions.

This has been my belief from the start. Raven being able to connect to someone on a level, that allows her to sense when they are in danger makes complete sense. I've said this before but I think Raven was the reason Qrow showed up in time to save Yang and Ruby when they were little. If Qrow had been with Raven, and then Raven sensed Yang was in danger, she could have opened a portal to them.
Creative thinking, I'm impressed, hopeful. I've only one question for you Phoenix...why don't you sign up to join the writing team for RWBY? The reason why Raven went to Tai was that he was her only way out. Yang, Crow and Oz were at the academy with Raven, and Vernal was dead. Tai was the only one she could teleport to

I doubt she bonded with any other tribe members. I think she kept that to just Vernal, with whom she new she could trust implicitly.

So no, she did not bond with any other tribe members. Else she would have went back to the tribe and not Tai. She is cut off from the tribe, unless they have a prearranged meeting place. Even then, she scared because her secret is out so no going back to the tribe for now even if she could.
I was so looking forward to an episode where Tai and Raven sit down for a real talk. It could have been an excuse to have a Team STRQ flashback.
I am in favour of Raven breaking Qrow and Robyn out of their captivity. Maybe even be the one to snap Qrow out of his guilt with a speech along the lines of "You cannot change the past and undo your regrets."

Am I the only person that believes that raven was with summer during her death. It seems to me that they had a close connection to each other. I think that raven sensed summer’s despair, guilt; etc while she was dying so raven went to check up on her, not knowing that summer was dying, and stayed with her during her last breath. Raven probably talks about summer in a condescending tone because she feels guilty for not saving summer.
That would make sense as of why Raven is so scared of Salem--if we want to assume Summer went after Salem and that's how she died.

I think Raven is the one who used the first question of the lamp, she was so fierce about not joining with Ozpin and how they were being fools by trusting him and she said that if Yang stayed with her she would tell her much more than she had said, but that's just what i think.
I guess she would have to continuously develop a bond with whoever Ozpin's body belongs to, so that would be quite difficult.

I believe her "emotional bond" based semblance doesn't necessarily mean empathetic connections. Notice it has always been labeled vaguely as a strong EMOTIONAL bond. For all we know, the bonds can be with any emotion. She could probably portal to her most hated enemy she has a personal connection with. Because her bond with that person is hatred. So therefor, assuming her semblance doesn't just forget who the man is because he died and reincarnated, she can portal her way to Ozpin, a man she seems to have a strong grudge against.
Edit: Not to mention she seems to have something against her brother, unless her feud with him at Haven was a ruse for the relic. She attacked him head on, and straight up said "i want my brother dead". She also sarcastically questioned if they were ever a family. But she's still able to portal to him.

Wow I was seriously just thinking about this just a few weeks ago, almost exactly. I was starting to think I was the only one who considered Raven must have a literal link to someone and is able to sense their emotions or that they’re in danger. That’s really the only explanation on how she knew to save Yang in V2. With everything stacked against team RWBY and co this volume, it’s the perfect opportunity to bring Raven and even Tai back into the action. Especially since Qrow is probably going to feel so distraught, angry and lost. He even mentions during his fight with Clover that fights always start with his friends, Clover was his only real friend. I think Raven and Tai coming back and helping him will be good for his psyche.
I think Raven would just make a sisterly remark when she sees Qrow in jail. Then save him.

You heard that from the recent convention where Miles did mention that we will be getting backstory on a character 3 volumes later than they wanted to show...
That could be a couple of characters.
That could be Raven as she was introduced in V5...
It could be Cinder, if they were originally intending to show her backstory in V4.

Here is where it gets controversial... it could be Hazel. In V5's commentary we've distinctly been told that Oz's side of things about Gretchen was not the whole story and that they would explain more about Hazel's view in the future.
I too am expecting Raven's return in V8 though. Here is how I see it... Ironwood moves to publicly execute Qrow and Robin for their part in Clover's death. Before the order is executed, Raven rescues Robin and Qrow by using her Maiden Powers to stop whatever Atlas execution method was in place and escapes with them.
That also publicly exposes magic to the world.

My personal belief/theory/hope is that she'll eventually realise the love for her daughter is higher than the fear for Salem and when team RWBY fights Salem and Yang is about to take a fatal blow,that's when you hear the portal sound and she saves Yang. But if she brings Taiyang with her and maybe Oobleck and Port it would be so much hype. My belief is very similar to yours but I love both. Go finally cuddle with your daughter,god dammit Raven!

Something tangently related - when Raven met up with Qrow in the tavern, the mask seemed to cause Qrow to hesitate to sit down. It wasn't until Raven moved the mssk from between them hit sat down. Also, when when she did, she rolled her eyes. I'd stll like to know what that was about.
Also, what did Neo see in Raven to cause her to flee in fear? Did she know about Raven, or suddenly see her come through a portal, or what?
A bit late to this comment but I feel like Neo was just shocked that someone was actually able to land a good hit on her, albeit it was from surprise. From what we've seen, Neo is pretty powerful (still waiting for her backstory), she's well versed in combat and almost defeated Cinder without Maiden Powers. Imagine you're about to defeat this blonde girl, who've you were easily able to knock out without her laying a finger on you. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a portal appears and this woman with a long ass sword manages to land a hit on you twice. I'd piss myself if that happened lmao.
But there is a possibility that she's heard of Raven. Cinder knew who she was and described her as a strong, cunning leader. People have probably heard of the Branwen tribe, since they seem to be behind a lot of the village raids in Anima.
We NEED Raven their are soo many questions still unanswered, and I agree we also need a STRQ flashback which will include Summer!!
A team STRQ episode would have so much potential if done right and completely. Depending on how far back it goes.
- The initial formation of STRQ. Qrow and Raven put on the team.
- Their interaction with Oz, how that trust was built up.
- Perhaps a sample of STRQ handling a typical mission, showing off just how good they were.
- Maybe cameos of previously mentioned characters like Qrow's friend Shiro, Hazel's sister, etc.
- Qrow tricked into a skirt.
- Birth of Yang
- Raven skipping out and the reasoning's behind it.
- Details on how Raven learned what she knows.
- Birth of Ruby
- Summer's reasonings for going out after Salem and whether Raven or Qrow had anything to do with her demise.
- Some detail on what caused Qrow's descent into alcoholism.
- More explanation/detail on the under-pinnings of Qrow and Ruby's family relationship.
- Perhaps showing exactly what happened to Summer on her 'mission'.
Sadly, I feel that this would need two episodes for all this to be covered. We'll be lucky if we even get one episode at this point.

Kinda unrelated and it's probably already been thought of but the wavern from valume 3 was imprisoned/petrified by summer rose on a secret mission before she disappeared
While I do believe most of the reasons to have a connection to all of the protagonists, I am not fully convinced that she would have any willingness to help Ozpin out of all people. Yes, she did convince me that she meant it when she said "I'm sorry" to Yang and that her reasons for not being model parent were backed by something, and that despite not being model parent, she's still far from being the worst of all parents; nevertheless, that's very much only in the Yang department and has nothing to do with her distrust of Ozpin. At the end of volume 5, she still had the same feelings towards him that she had when she lectured Yang and Weiss about him at her camp. IF she does end up helping him, it will most likely be for the sake of helping Yang and more for the sake of surviving than for the sake of trying to defeat Salem.
I would like to see at least one episode or scene dedicated to the conversation that Raven had with Tai after volume 5. I want to see Raven confess how selfish she had become and Tai telling her that it isn't too late to make amends, with both of them deciding to go aid team RWBY and co in Atlas. Also, I want to Yang confess that she knew that her mum is the current spring maiden and explain why she didn't mention this info to her team. And another thing, I just had a vision in my head Zwei (assuming he'll be coming along)biting Tyrion in the bum whilst fighting Qrow, lol.
🤔 I just had a thought about the volume 7 intro of RWBY about the little scene we got of Tyrian attacking Robyn, what if that was intended for volume 8, since volume 8 is a continuation of volume 7 maybe that little scene was actually Qrow and Robyn going after Tyrian in volume 8. The reason I thought about this is because I rewatched the volume 7 intro and Qrow’s face during that little scene is a face that shows not just anger but the face of wanting someone dead.

But he is not alone, in fact he is assisted by a misterious figure with an apaty grimm mask called Ash, but their partnership is a bit unstable since the lieutenant seems lo lack the ways to grant Ash what he wants....to find someone.
Anyway team RWBY and co ends up fighting the duo and their goons...but Maria finds weird that the lieutenant friend has a apathy grimm mask since it is a quite rare kind of grimm very few people have ever seen in their lives, so she asks if he is a survivor of the Brunswick farm, ash is very surprised they know of the farm but then he nods, also Sun, who has joined the group along with coffee and the rest of his team, find his combat style with a cane like weapon familiar...so making brunsWICK plus that he realize he is Roman...Ruby says that is impossible but then Ash removes his mask comfirming Sun's theory.

what still bothers me is that the casts kept complaining about how to beat salem. i could've sworn the answer was right in front of us even the gods gave us the answer find the relics and we shall be summoned since the only ones who can destroy her are the gods themselves. I also feel like Neo will end up becoming a antihero because she might be confronted by Ruby since they both understand what its like to lose someone, that's at least in my little theory. Also i would like to know a little bit about Cinder Falls backsory and why she is the way she is.
On the note of Tai and how he fights, its probably similar too Arslan Altan (The leader of team ABRN) as in he fights using just his fists. He already know he's proficient in CQC seeing as how he trained Yang and he also knows how too use his aura too a larger degree than most others, seeing as how he was the one too talk too Yang about her semblance and how she uses it. If he were too have a weapon I would say its something like brass knuckles or something of the sort, something that serves a similar function too but is not a direct copy of Yang's weapon. I won't even try too guess his semblance since we have had zero hint too what it actually is.
I love the comparison to Arslan and it makes a lot of sense. Arslan uses her weapon as more of a support instead of her main fighting style and I can definitely see that for Tai. Great idea!

I'm not, either. We know for now three bonding of Raven : Qrow, Yang and Tai, brother, daughter and (ex)lover. Bond with Ozpin doesn't seem to hold the strenght of this ones. With Tai we know the bond is not necessarily familly related but again, a teacher is not the same thing than a lover (well, most of time... teach me to be naughty, sensei and stuff). Possibly I think Raven could have shared a bond with Summer and Vernal, but not much anyone else...

Also I'm inclined to think that Raven didn't had a bond with anyone else in the tribe (she didn't return to the tribe after Yang's speech and went directly to Taiyan - at least it's what is suggested by the stagging).
Well we don't know the extend off Salem's forces yet. The thing i'm wondering is what Salem is capable off. We have seen Salem making adjastments to grimm, we also know Cinder received a grimm arm from Salem. So the thing I'm thinking is: Can Salem make Grimm that resemble fallen people? If so we can surely expect some familiar faces. One off these I was thinking about Roman, We have Neo in Atlas, so if we have Neo seeing a grimm version off Roman could make off a very emotional scene. Another would be Pyrrha, we have the rest off team JNPR there. The third would be Vernal, this could mean a rematch between Weiss and Vernal, but if we get team STRQ in volume 8, this could also make for a amazing scene between Raven and Vernal.
I am excited for volume 8 regardless.

as for Raven porting to Qrow in chains....might let us get another glimpse of Real Raven when Qrow don't respond as she expects, thus showing how far down he is. and if indeed her talent lets her 'feel' her connected ones, she may not need that.
Phoenix's theory that Raven can feel the strong emotions of those connected to her but if say someone she had a connection to lost their memories would she still have a connection to them as there are no longer the same person mentally as they were before this could be away summer survived and no one knows where she is because she doesn't know who she is
I’m definitely hopping for Raven returning, Raven teaching Penny how to use her maiden powers, Ruby vs Salem, and finding out why Salem wants Ruby alive.

That would have been amazing and made Volume 8 so much harder to wait for! I like the way Volume 7 ended though and when Raven returns it'll be a nice surprise

Speaking of the upcoming events in V8, I wonder if the expected release date in october will be pushed forward due to the current issues in the country. I think production would be impacted somehow.
I had been expecting Raven's reappearance, especially in combination with some kind of a team STRQ flashback, since V6.
Not going to hold my breath on this. If it happens, Great! If not, I've given up on it already.
I also won't be too thrilled with Raven just being dropped in out of nowhere without any proper lead-up as to where she's been, what she's been up to. V5 had her running back to Tai.
I think the simple fact that she is the spring maiden means that we will see Raven again at some point. Seeing a team STRQ reunion and possibly a backstory would be really good though not sure Rooster Teeth will do it next volume because didn’t they say that Volume 8 would be shorter than the others?
Volume 8 will actually be longer as it ties directly in to Vol. 7 and Volume 9 will be shorter
Say what you want about ironwood, but at least on paper, he had a solid plan, ozpin on the other hand, plan boils down to an eternal game of keep away.
Another good video. Raven to me was always a mysterious character since introduce, but when V5 happened I found that she has more depth than I thought, especially after the whole maiden fiasco. Though if they bring her in for V8 I NEED backstory of her and Qrow along with team STRQ (which I hope then leads to some Summer Rose backstory, maybe even some voice acting for her).
Speaking of her semblance; do you think Raven felt Summer's emotions as she went confront Salem? If so can we get outright confirmation of death? I'm a firm believer that there is something afoot, and that Summer Rose isn't as dead as the the show makes out. I'd love to know what you think though, and can't wait for the next video
If Raven comes back, I think it is going to be after Ruby is captured by Salem and the rest of RWBY is about to be killed. Deus ex Machina for the win!
And she'd just enter like the portals scene from Avengers Endgame.
I dont know if Raven would come back to the series next volume but I think we can all safely assume that it is pretty much set up that she will eventually return to the series's main plot simply because she is a maiden
I would also like to see a team STRQ reunion and seeing What Tai can do. Also Raven and Yang training together.

It’s Ironic that Raven is person that most of times don’t really want to be connected to other people have semblance that demand her to have connection to others .Her sibling/twin have semblance that make him to be far away from close one for their own sake .
quick point; one thing I want to see in volume 8; someone managing to slice Salem's arm or leg, to the point of the limb, for the space of time required for the blade to pass through, existing as separate from the body. what happens? (and no, I'm not referring to innards or fluids. I'd like to see how it happens that the limb gets restored. seamlessly, even as the blade passes out the other side? or will she need to reattach it manually? or maybe even create a new one? clearly it has happened, as I doubt everyone she asked to try killing her did the stabbing thing.
If Tai went through the portal, they’d have no way back.
Same thing happened when Vernal came through the portal in 5x11. No way back to the tribe except via conventional travel.
Though it is possible that Raven was not counting on returning to the Tribe anytime soon.
Also, the whole plan was Cinder's, who insisted the "Spring Maiden" come as well, being needed for the vault so Raven had no choice.
DMM Tech Raven went back to the tribe through her Tai portal, and I’d guess that having an all powerful relic would be worth traveling one continent, especially when she has supernatural powers and can turn into a bird. So going along with Vernal makes sense

As for going after the relic, I doubt Raven had a choice. Cinder backed her into a corner. She and Vernal were forced to go.
Cinder needed Raven for the Portals to get to haven, bypassing the authorities.
And she needed Vernal to open the vault.
(Not sure if Cinder knew about the bird thing.)
Otherwise, I doubt Raven would have brought Vernal, her gateway back to the tribe, along. I think Vernal always remained behind to provide a quick return to the Tribe for Raven after a mission. Plus, she seemed to be second in command and probably took over for Raven when she was away.
Cinder expected this to be a one way trip for both of them. She didn't really care if Raven was loosing her portal back to the tribe.
As calculating as Raven is, she saw the writing on the wall and had her own plan to kill Cinder first, grab the relic and portal to Tai to get clear. Presumably with Vernal in tow since she was no longer a viable portal point. Then make it back to the tribe once safe.
Raven had better return; she is far and away the most fascinating character in the whole damn show, to me....particularly after we lost She-Khan....
Raven could open a portal for reinforcements to help defend Atlas.

I neeeeeed the interactions imo Raven is so important to the story (especially on Yangs behalf) and honestly Yang becoming the next Spring Maiden is inevitable.
Tai should stay behind if Raven goes to Atlas, If the team need to get out of there in the wake of the mass destruction to secure their lives or even a relic, teleporting to Tai will be their best option.
That would be great if team STRQ were to reunite with Ozpin and finally have some back story along with telling more about Summer and what she was like and following up with revealing what happened to her. I have high hopes for Volume 8, but there's always the possibility that the volume may not cover this at all and may focus on other subjects the entire time.
-EDIT: We need these moments. Enough time and volumes have passed and the story is now at where they should be revealed.
In my opinion the idea of Raven having not just being able to use portals but to sense the emotional state of those close to you would be very hard to deal with.
It would also explain a lot more about her character in my opinion.
It makes me like her even more.

OOOh a lot of potential!!!!!! I think she would return on her own with out Tai initially to help Qrow (save one time rule like with Yang), sense and deal with Ozpin, and then assist RWBY which she would make clear was not her original intention until she realised her fear (Salem) was here anyway and she needs to finally face it, like she face Tai the end of Volume 5. After this in think her and Yang could start to build a relationship. Would love to see her interact with Blake aswell, as she is the one that came back as were unlike Raven. Blake might even act as a bridge initionally.

Can you do a video on what Salem can do with the relics? Now here me out here before you say no. I think I said in a previous video that I cannot believe that throughout the whole war between Salem and Ozpin. Salem did not have at least one relic in her possession at least once. I mean it is possible that she knows something about the Relics that Ozpin doesn't, right?
Also I good idea for you versus videos. How about Winter Vs Adam. Could Adam have taken on the strongest member of the SDC if he had the chance, what do ya think?
Hmm okay. Not a whole lot I can add since much of it is stuff I already said myself. I'll say Raven likely never intended to kill Qrow and it was just a ploy to get him and the others there to distract Salem's goons.
I also don't believe she went to Tai to reconcile but simply had no other options since she doesn't seem to get along with anyone in her tribe but Vernal.
But I did have one random idea. Since aura can semblances stronger. I wonder if Raven can widen the size of her portal.
Its a little out there but it she can open a portal offensively to then immediately cut it half way. Could she fly up. Open a massive portal to lead the whale into and then cut it off half way in.
That would be an interesting way to defeat the whale if Jaune amped her semblance. There are still a lot of questions about aura and semblance we need answers for
Phoenix/Night Not only that. But if Cinder is any indication. It seems as if maiden magic itself amplifies aura. So if Jaune and her own magic can boost it. That would be one massive portal.

There is a scene in volume 4 where Tai and Yang are sparring, Tai is very skilled in hand-to-hand combat and gives Yang some tips. So maybe Tai has gauntlets like Yang and taught her how to fight?
I think we are forgetting something qrow can turn into a bird no one knows about that except team rwby and it isn't a semblance so even if he was in a cell with semblance blocking tech he could still escape anytime he wanted although in his current emotional state he may need a shove to get back in the fight

I think I'd be a guard for a small village. Double-barrel, pump-action shotgun. Yes, I meant it. Of course it's not a real life weapon. Two pump-action shotguns fused together.

Maybe her semblance allows her to "scry" the locations of people she's linked, i'd either put Tais weapons as nothing like hazel or a club of some sort.
I want to see Raven call Tai out on not being a good dad let alone a good parent and mark down how he sits around and does nothing next to Qrow, who he seems to belittle with stories to Port and Oobleck in the off time as he sits around doing nothing.
I'm pretty sure she knows she's a bad mom and I think she has her reasons. She doesn't want Yang to be like her and would rather push her away to be cared for by better people. Unfortunately. Tai isn't exactly a great example of a parent either given Qrow seems to be the one that has always been around for both Yang and Ruby as a parental figure and a mentor.
Tai says a lot of stuff that is pig headed and doesn't make sense in regards to Yang using her semblance or in general and seems to not have regrets to the day about refusing to tell her about Raven and how her and Ruby would be dead had Qrow not been around to save them.
We've been told he's going out on missions again soon in V3 and that he's helping with Beacon in V4 by Ruby but the most we've seen him out of the house is watering flowers and getting groceries. I think her expectations from being the younger more impressionable one are stretched. Maybe he's helped a bit but I dont think he's done as much as he claims he has.
But if you tell RT fans that Tai is an ideal father figure and he's voiced by Burnie they'll believe that over any speculation garnished by little details.

Does anyone else think it would be really cool if Ruby and Raven had a conversation about team STRQ and Summer. Not to say that Yang, Qrow or Tai wouldn't be there for it, but seeing as that Ruby and Raven have only ever shared a few brief sentences with each other, and then Raven opening a portal to blast Ruby with a fireball. It shows that Raven has or had some animosity towards Summer, and Ruby be extension, but it would interesting to see that conversation between people who have such connection through the people they know and are related to, speaking of which, what is Ruby and Raven relationship anyway? Are they Ex mother-daughter in law?
Anyway, anybody else think that? I think it would be interesting.
I would love it if Raven came back and helped out Qrow after being filled in on what happened maybe they could work together with Tai and sort out their differences somewhat. Or maybe she could meet Willow and the two could learn about their different lifestyles and ways they could rebuild their relationships with those around them if they’re willing to start over.

the one thing I hope for, in Volume 8, is ruby and company needing to find a way to convince the entire atlas military, what's left of the ace-ops, and winter, to NOT arrest them, but to let them help save their kingdom as much as possible, my only concern is the now crazed and mad man general ironwood, it's obvious that's gonna give them a hard time, and it's also obvious that he'll be overthrown, cause qrow did promise clover, before he died, that he'll make sure that ironwood will take the fall for his actions.

Yes. She will probably come back since she is a maiden. Also have a competition of who can make there eyes more red with Yang.
This has been my belief from the start. Raven being able to connect to someone on a level, that allows her to sense when they are in danger makes complete sense. I've said this before but I think Raven was the reason Qrow showed up in time to save Yang and Ruby when they were little. If Qrow had been with Raven, and then Raven sensed Yang was in danger, she could have opened a portal to them.
Creative thinking, I'm impressed, hopeful. I've only one question for you Phoenix...why don't you sign up to join the writing team for RWBY? Hell knows they need at least one creative writer on their side...the more I hear your ideas the more I'd love to see them in the show, I've no care for RWBY anymore and what they've been doing, but hearing your ideas makes me ecstatic/hopeful/interested 😁
