My tiel lets me know he wants a shower by trying to take a bath in his water dispenser or by going through an elaborate display on top of his cage that is not quite like the other times he shows off. When this happens, I have a spray bottle I use only for his bath and which produces a fine mist. I always fill it with fresh, clean water. I spray the mist at, but slightly over, his head. You will be treated to seeing nearly every feather poof up to catch the mist. Don't forget to spray his underside too. Do NOT soak your tiel- let it tell you when it is finished [usually when it depoofs its feathers and shuts its eyes and does not display]. Stop misting and drain out the spray bottle into a sink. Allow your tiel to tend to itself and [if it is wintertime] hike up the heater or thermostat for an hour while it preens and dries off. The effect is noticeable- the feathers are clean and smooth, almost like you have a new bird.
Great advice! Just 1 suggestion. Don't use chlorinated water. For anything with birds. I use purified water, and once I forgot and they could not open their eyes when I was done. And I have a small water dish that they still manage to get into. I have taught them to "Show me your Pits" which they will open the wings and get the Wing pits real good. One of them can never get enough water. She is not happy till she looks like a drowned rat. Then shakes right in front of me on my shoulder to share.
she could be picking them because of stress and anxiety or she is molting, molting is when birds start losing feathers to grow new ones. i hope this helped, also, if your bird ended molting or hasnt started yet and u have just noticed, or because or stress, please take her to a vet

Using a spray bottle is such shitass advice. you shouldnt force any actions on your animals, they take baths on their own. You'll lose their trust so quickly, most birds would see a spray bottle as a threat because they dont know what a spray bottle is.

You are not supposed to put a bird in the shower! I sprayed my budgies with a shower head once and they *HATED* it
