My wife and I were in Bar Harbor June 2022.. We grabbed two lobster dinners and headed to a picnic in the parking lot of Thunder Hole.. Best lobster dinner I ever had.. food, place and company were perfect!!
the important thing is to keep up the enthusiasm, I always pray for good health, always be happy, stay focused on what is running now good job solo travel motorcycle happy new year
Great video again Lea. Visiting Acadia National Park brings memories to me as this was my first trip with my wife on a 1991 Honda VFR when we first started dating. Thanks for sharing your adventure again with us. 😀🦞🏍
Thank you so much for making this video! We missed a few points in the park but after watching again we were able to catch thunder hole and the famous thurston’s lobster pound! Great job hitting all the highlights of Acadia and Bar Harbor. We had a very enjoyable trip thanks to your excellent video!
A very good video Lea. Nice roads fine cenery and hopefully a Good Lobster-roll. Or sandwich. Or wath they cal them??? It looks good. Thanks for shering. Ride on were you are aloud...

Thanks for the spectacular drone shots. Brings back memories I have been there four times. I like the first time the best in 1985. It was not too commercialized then. Went back in 2010 and was shocked by the growth of the town. Still very nice though!!
Ich habe noch nie Hummer gegessen. Ich werde es nächsten Sommer versuchen. Wieder eine sehr schöne Gegend und eine schöne und interessante Fahrt. Danke Lea.
Again nice video, hope you had the opportunity to stop at Jordan pond house the Historic stop for tea with popovers & jam, also one overlooked area is The Schoodic Peninsula is the only part of Acadia National Park found on the mainland. ( Winter Harbor) Although similar in scenic splendor to portions of Mount Desert Island, the Schoodic Peninsula is a more secluded area. Looking forward to your next adventure
This area of Maine is a must see,Bar Harbor is beautiful. The Park along with Cadillac Mountain are a great destination, Although last time I visited there were 2 cruise ships unloading to the town.very busy.
As always a very informative and beautiful video....last week i was waiting for your video but didnt uploaded a video.... thanks today you uploaded this video... thanks ....beautiful lea...
Beautiful video again, Lea! My daughter had her first trip to the beach in Maine as a toddler. Think it was summer, but that water was a lot colder than this Texan expected. Now she has a PhD, and is expert in beach ecosystems. Happy trails!
Thank you for sharing that road trip. I have been once before but it is indeed one of the best NP on the East Coast so repeating it with you was great !!!
Thanks again Lea for a most beautiful ride. It really brought back many wonderful memories from the times I had ridden through the area. Glad you enjoyed the lobster roll. Looking forward to the next adventure.
Enjoyed the video immensely, Acadia is the closest US national park to me, so have been there many times from neighbouring New Brunswick, but it's amazing to think you were so close by. Actually the last time there was November 2018 when we rode up Cadillac Mountain, it was definitely cooler that day, but still beautiful.
I was pleasantly surprised that you featured Acadia Nat'l Park and Bar Harbor/Mt. Desert Island here. Your last post ended without visiting the park and I thought, oh no, she missed the best part! Not so, apparently! Thanks for a another great post. Great content, production and presentation. Cheers.
Noooo of course I didn’t miss it! I really loved it already on my first visit and wanted to return to make a video to be able to show it to you guys! Very happy you liked it!
Mate your videos are so entertaining and your photography is second to none, just a note though kind of thinking with lobster prices now I wonder if I would like to be a prisoner in that era. 👏💐
Next time you go, you must get a popover and coffee at Jordan's Pond House. You will thank me. Thank you for the video. I live in Maine and you did some things I haven't yet.
Wow it’s been a long 2 weeks! Great video - we loved walking downtown Bar Harbor and the fresh lobster. It’s been about 14 years - after seeing this video I think we need to go back.
OMG..l feel a 2nd class citizen..24hours too late..lol Life... Got in the way Great that you spend time researching the history of your rides / travels to educate your fans I remember my first trip into coastal Canada.. wanting to sample fresh sea food..ala your lobster sandwich I ordered cod and French fries and salad Jeeeezz..so disappointed ( and was supposed to be a great place) Cod....l was expecting a cod the size of a whale 🐳 What did l get.. looked like COD nuggets ..ala McDonald's.. chicken nuggets.. 😁😁😁
Happy new year. What a great park. Great roads, very green, great views. The coast looks a lot like the coast north of Ålesund in Norway. Both formed by glaciers. The whole landscape is flattened by them. I do like lobster meat but I once had to disassemble a smaller lobster myself to get to the meat. It put me of lobster and crab meat for a while. I’m partially vegetarian. I do eat meat or fish but only for a few days a week.
Yes that’s exactly how I do it too - if there is something special or I am invited I eat certain animals (mostly seafood though) and otherwise not. Agree with the lobster, I find it delicious but I as well don’t like how they are cooked. So that’s why I only tried this one lobster shack…
Thank you Lea for another awesome video!❤ I’ve been to Maine twice and it’s such a beautiful place. Your drone footage definitely did it justice. Thanks for taking me back. 😊
Another wonderful video. I've enjoyed many of your videos so far and with the recent videos from Adirondacks, thru VT, NH, Northern Maine and now Acadia it's a pleasure to see how well you describe my backyard (it's a big yard) and now on to Boston where one of my daughters live, that should be good.
Great video, it really took me back. Grew up in Hulls Cove and go back to visit all my cousins living on Mt Desert when ever I can. Next time yo go, you should visit Thuya Gardens & Asticou Gardens in Northeast Harbor. Both are beautiful and only ask for a donation while visiting.
Great vid Lea. I've made several trips to the island over many years. It's a fav visit. Unique scenery abounds. Delicious food and a ferry ride to Nova Scotia. It's hard to imagine ice a mile deep carving the stone with gravels. A truly wonderful place. On north up Hwy 1 is some more nice towns and one of the very oldest settlements in America. Come back again, there's much more to see. Safe travels wherever you go.
Rode the Adirondacks a couple weeks ago. My first time. Would have loved to stay somewhere cool like the lodge you stayed at but my riding buddy was cheap and didn’t want to spend a lot. A few of us are going to Acadia in mid September. I’ve never been there before either and I’m a lifelong New Englander.
Curious to know if Thurston's Lobster Pound is in Bass Harbor.... lived near there many years ago and it was owned by Charley (can't remember his last name).... there's also the winding carriage roads, 12 stone bridges, a great view of Frenchman's Bay as you come down around a curve on a bicycle and see a cruise ship dwarfing the bay.... that's when you know not to shop in Bar Harbor because of the crowds! Also, seafood stands selling excellent crab-rolls are numerous around the island. Last, but not least, Fall is the best season to visit - less crowded and the colors are stunning. Thanks for your video tour.... brought back memories.
Thank you so much for all your videos! My husband and I enjoy watching. What time of year were you in Maine? We live in Deep South Texas and have been wondering when is a good time to plan a trip. Keep enjoying life and be safe.
All the best for you in 2023, stay healthy and take good care of yourself. I think we will not be thirsty like in a DESERT in this year, I am sure, there will be many MOUNTAINs, means a lot of peaks and highlights - to be seen by your magnificent weekly videos, with lovely comment and a lot of interesting informations. FYI: IT IS ILLEGAL TO FLY A DRONE IN A NATIONAL PARK 🏞️
It’s a $5,000 fine. Maybe follow the rules and lead by example? 🎞️
She may not have done enough research to know that. Lucky she didn’t get caught they probably would have confiscated the drone as well.
