    ABOUT TIK 📝
History isn’t as boring as some people think, and my goal is to get people talking about it. I also want to dispel the myths and distortions that ruin our perception of the past by asking a simple question - “But is this really the case?”. I have a 2:1 Degree in History and a passion for early 20th Century conflicts (mainly WW2). I’m therefore approaching this like I would an academic essay. Lots of sources, quotes, references and so on. Only the truth will do.
This video is discussing events or concepts that are academic, educational and historical in nature. This video is for informational purposes and was created so we may better understand the past and learn from the mistakes others have made.

They’re not the same. Leftists want me to play by their rules. Fascism in a nutshell. People on the “right” want to be left alone. Conservatives, classical liberals, individualists… in other words, no intolerant groupthink.

I fully agree with u. My philosophy is to be left alone. I see the danger in collective lunatics. That’s not rocket science. I don’t give an inch to these fascist morons. Those are two separate things. I’m fully aware of the war raged against the west and its individualistic, enlightenment way of thinking. There’s no place for a person like me in any groupthink mentality. The literature, history and individual intolerance towards me when I speak out against marxism/socialism makes me aware of why there are 100+ million deaths in name of “the revolution”. Dividing the world in oppressed and oppressor, judging people based on the group they are part of and seeing them as the oppressor aka ‘the bad white guy’.
I’m very, very aware. Over my dead body if it were for me. I can’t seem to have just one day not tripping over a muslim or socialist intolerant douche bag. But hey, I live in Western Europe, so I’m the bad guy.

    • @cptpayday2080
      @cptpayday2080 Рік тому +18

He never even called it that btw Also even if he did it would not matter because Hitler saw the German people (state) as one corpus therefore "privatizing" the industry meant giving it from the hands of the capitalists to the people which once again just means nationalising it if you unclutter the meaning behind Hitlers words.

    • @Alte.Kameraden
      @Alte.Kameraden Рік тому +38

@@cptpayday2080 That is actually one of the issues I have when dealing with Marxist. Marxist are Nationalist, the Working Class is their Nation. So for a Marxist the Nationalization of the Means of Production = Giving The Means of Production to the Workers. For A Racial Nationalist like the Nazis, Nationalization of the Means of Production literally just means taking business away from those who are outside the "Race" and giving it back to the "People" who are the "Race." Marxist fail to understand that what they want is nearly identical to what Nazis want. The only fundamental difference is one is built around a Social Class, and the other as Racial Class.
You can apply the same thing to Feminism as well. Feminist want to use the State to force business to hire more Women regardless of qualifications. For a Feminist this is the Nationalization of Business. If women are in charge, and they're Feminist, their Nation is Women, so Women run business is the Feminist idea of "Nationalization" whether they realize it or not.

Laziness and lack of drive have NEVER been attributes I've associated with them. Honestly, my biggest problem with the Right is that they seemingly have this default deference to other people to do their political bidding on their behalf. That's why we always get stuck (in the US, anyway) with these spineless grifters who say all the things we want to hear, and then when push comes to shove, they cow-tow to the left and turn defeat into a virtue.

I wanted to throw my two cents in for this, and I think its actually a good thing that you're explaining this, because World War II (your primary focus) cannot be decoupled from economics and politics. Not many aspects can be looked solely through the lens of what was happening on the ground, and especially on the eastern front not many aspect can be fully explained and reported on because of the geopolitical and economic circumstances involved in the decision making. Chieftain's video on soviet tank doctrine was another good example of how you really can't decouple doctrinal development in the soviet union from the politics of the higher-ups, and it added a lot of perspective as to why people made the decisions they made. It may be a political video here, but in the context of soviet decision making on the eastern front and the context of Hitler and fascism, its the right video to make in the grander scheme of things.

Are you talking about leftists?? Yes!! Liberals not necessarily so and I’m moderate conservative and I grew up with liberals and I still work with and liberals and they make me laugh like crazy. I’m modest and they do things I would never do.😂😂😂 people are wrong when they say conservative or Republicans are racist or homophobic or anti-trans or this or that because it’s so I’m not true. We are not the bigots the media for their world tells them we are because republican politicians and business owners are no wealthier than democrat, business owners and politicians.
We know is normal every day people they all look upon us like a little presents and I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and I would’ve been 2020 but they told me I wasn’t registered but two weeks prior I was. Anyway, I’m not gonna go along to get along and whether it’s against my religion or not. I am polite to people and I’m nobody to judge. Thank however, most conservatives get emotional over things that are really serious like major illness in the family or serious injury. Somebody being murdered, or beaten up. We pay taxes for Education and tlives but the police department got declined it, so where is that money going?? Even if people get arrested, they get out in no time and they don’t usually get indicted but it’s only like us defended ourselves or somebody else depending on the city and say we would be arrested and probably not see the light of day after the trial. I’m a 56-year-old woman who has lupus and rheumatoid arthritis but I will definitely speak up if somebody is being cruel to someone just because it’s rude. and Leftists do get really really emotional about things. I don’t know if it’s because they’re overly passionate about things or if it’s the surroundings. I was talking with my daughter and she’s conservative about things like saving money and family life & she’s more moderate when it comes to social life etc. etc. email that she’s married with kids but she’s definitely not judgmental and friendly to everybody. Just because we’re different doesn’t mean we don’t have to just like people as long as they don’t show their business and our faces. We are OK. if she doesn’t want her son being around, people, shooting up on the side of the streets and neither do I. It IS SAD!!! People need help and not enabling them to slowly die a terrible death, and that’s what I believe is caring more about people by not wanting them to harm themselves.
Nonetheless, she’s progressive or she was when it came to immigration and she knew my stance about illegal immigration and how I’m against it. For about a year she now knows why mom was against illegal immigration and I told her it was too much at one time and too much anyway because we have a guesswork or program that allows for something like 50,000 or 100,000 just for her migrants in every year except Donald Trump what in 15,000 but that’s because people were successfully able to get across the border and it’s 2 1/2 million got across the border when he was in office it seems like 10 times that many have gotten a Cross since Joe has been in office. I don’t live in a sanctuary city, but I know the benefits that it’s taken away from marginalized communities were poor people and minorities do work, but they were getting daycare assistance and food stamps because they were low income and so much of that got cut because illegal immigrants are getting it in addition to some of them getting SSI or Social Security.. yes!! all of them are getting Medicaid and it’s just blowing up our federal reserve

Socialism is an economic policy that, in modern English, is so bound up with left-wing stances on social/cultural issues it's assumed anyone with extreme versions of (modern English) right-wing stances on those issues cannot be/have been a socialist.
For example, Hitler openly and directly opposing the post-2015 left's most sacred cow, while Lenin didn't (until he thought he'd tolerated it too much).
The early Soviet Union had a very brief phase of "sexual liberation" the government both initiated and then forcibly suppressed, but did not oppose it from the beginning because they came to power by militarily overthrowing a divine-right monarchy with all the social conservatism that implies... so it just wasn't a thing in Russia until the Communists toyed with it themselves. The Furious Painter, on the other hand, took over the existing political system of a republic where it had been out of control for a decade.

Leftist here. I have never found your content to contradict my belief in social policy's like social security, free health care, minimum wage etc. I also believe i capitalism but the government needs to be used to protect people from the worst aspects of capitalism, and the exploitation it encourages. Also I could do without a revolution.
Wether that makes me a socialist I don't know.
Getting to the point I think you place to much emphasis on the most vocal part of the left wing community. The most vocal tend to be the most extreme. There are plenty of people who are left wing and like your videos. I found them well researched.

Thanks for your comment. The idea that the State can protect us from the worst of the free market is an assumption that many make, but I want you to ask the question: But is this really the case? Would the free market really "eat the poor" if it was allowed to do so? And this is where I'd recommend the books "Economics in One Lesson" by Hazlitt, "Basic Economics" by Sowell, and "America's Great Depression" by Rothbard, because these will seriously challenge that assumption.
I also know there's a lot of left wing people who watch the videos who also like what I do. Unfortunately, a lot of them ignore the economics videos, which I understand, but I think it will come to hurt them in the long run. That's partly why I wanted to make this video, to get those people to understand that I'm trying to help them, not hurt them.

Gotta say man, based on your claim that you think Capitalism works, but we simply need some regulations on it, you are not a leftist at all. It seems to be a hard requirement for a leftist, to accept that socialism is the superior form of economics.
I am a "conservative" i guess, and definitely a "capitalist", but I also think that there should be government regulations, but only because the natural capitalism self correcting way is very, very slow, and we don't need to "learn the hard way" every time someone gets too clever and finds a way to exploit people.

@@rameynoodles152 I would say that your probably listening to to many right wing pundits. I used believe that all Conservatives wanted no regulation on anything, and just wanted a free for all. I learnt that that is only hard-core libertarians.
In this video tick said the left sees everyone as secret racists. And while I think he's exaggerating a little he's not to far off the mark. I believed all Conservatives where basically bigits and ignorant.
What I have learnt is that is on 70% of issues, proberbly more the left and right agree on. An easy example would be the NHS. Last time I checked it has a 96% approval rate despite the fact everyone knows its not being run particularly well right now. The argument isn't weither it should exist but how do you fix the problems.
Going back to the economic point most left wing people don't want socialism. Just like most Conservatives don't want an race war. These are extremist views. What people on the left want are more robust economic policy's to protect the working class. For companies to pay taxes and not be able to dodge them. And for there to be more equality of opportunity.
Out of the 3 things mentioned above, besides raising taxes on business, Conservatives have put those other aims in there manifesto.
Like I wrote earlier. Trust me when I say most people are centre left or centre right. All these online pundits are trying to convince you otherwise.

    • @rameynoodles152
      @rameynoodles152 2 роки тому +8

@@leejeromejardinejohnson8431 First of all, I definitely agree that most are center left or center right. But, just because somebody leans left, doesn't make them a "leftist". To conservatives, a "leftist" is an extremist socialist/communist, which is why, by definition, they must be fighting for socialism in order to qualify as a leftist.
A "Conservative", by my definition, is simply somebody who wants to see the United States return to its root ideals of freedom of the individual (which inherently means a captitalist economy due to rights to own property/buy/sell etc), protected by the rights declared in the Constitution, and to eliminate as much government corruption as possible.
Also, I wouldn't even say that the most hard-core libertarians want a regulation free-for-all. That's called an Anarchist, or as some call it, an Anarcho-Capitalist.
The only difference between libertarians and conservatives, to me, is that conservatives also want to return to a more "Biblical" society, wheras libertarians are agnostic in those regards. Speaking of that, I guess I'm more of a libertarian.
The evidence suggests that more people want socialism than you think. There's a poll taken in 2020 (it's on The Hill) that shows Democrats view socialism more favorably than capitalism 56% (fav socialism) to 53%(fav capitalism). Among Republicans it was 74% (fav capitalism) to 26% (fav socialism).
Also, I'm speaking in terms of The United States, as the Conservatives and Leftists have a different meaning in The UK. I say this because you mention favorable support of NHS, which the USA doesn't have an NHS. BTW, that 95% support seems to have gone down to 36% as of 2021 according to the British Social Attitudes survey.
I think you're, honestly, a little out of touch bro.

You were a socialist/anarchist and became a libertarian/ancap. This change didn't occur because your values changed but because you understood the real world better. I used to be a political conservative (and still a social conservative). I used to believe government should be used to further the conservative agenda. Through a lot of reading and experiences (too much to discuss here) I realized that government isn't the solution but the problem, which converted me to libertarianism.
Your videos are a great source of knowledge which can help people go through a similar process. The hardcore lefties will not be converted but many people who haven't made up their minds will be. @TIKhistory I watched your video a few hours ago and I have been thinking about it. I grew up middle class in the US and taught that hard work and education will bring success. All of my friends were taught the same. It has worked for me. I grew up in a rural area with mostly middle/middle lower class and we all believed that hard work would bring success. I knew 0 socialist as a child. The only time that I have met people who stated they were socialists were in college and while volunteering with my non-profit group. The only socialists I have ever met in the US have all been college educated. I grew up with a bunch of friends who could not afford college and worked blue collared jobs who became very successful with their own businesses. I also sailed on cargo ships all around the world for a number of years and the one thing that struck me was the concept of social class, especially in western Europe. (I met a large number of socialist in western Europe.) In the US most are taught that class is temporary and can be changed with with hard work. I spend a year sailing out of the same town in southern England. The one thing that struck me was the class system of England. (I know that England as well as the rest of Europe has more "old money" so moving up the class scale is more difficult than the US. I noticed that more people thought of class as family based and one was born into it. I met a large number of people who just assumed that they would just do what their parents did. It was almost like they accepted that fact that they could not change social class and it was kind of depressing talking to them. I did not understand this classism. I asked why cant they just change their status but I was told that this is the way it is. (I was dismissed as not understanding because I was a "Yank". ) I kind of think that this accepted classism leads to people being socialist. Its almost like people are subdued by classism thus leading them to socialism. This is just my thoughts as an American sailing cargo ships out of a small town in the UK so maybe my thoughts are way off. Thank you for posting the video. It really go me thinking.

This may be why socialists have a tendency to be from more densely populated areas like urban areas and colleges. People from rural areas have a tendency to be more individualist because they have to deal with stuff on their own thus making them more conservative. I think left and right is also a result the population density of ones home. I live on a the top of a mountain in West Virginia. I have friends of both left and right because I live very close to Washington DC. I have know quite of a few very liberal (bordering) on socialists become more conservative after a hard winter on the mountain for example. Hi Tik! To me, this a truly moving video.
Still, I would encourage you to not be frustrated after all. I think your economics and politics videos provide highly relevant insights into the history of the last hundred or so years and are MUCH more digestible to the casual viewer than any book might ever be. That is a huge achievement and will be a tremendous legacy. And given the Internet's possibilities, it might be around for thousands of years. If humanity might ultimately prove to have the cognitive potential to come to terms with its issues and move into a bright(er) future, I am sure that your work will prove to be invaluable as you helped tieing such a huge number of open ends in some essential spots.
However, I personally would ask and encourage you to find a way to "move on" from the verbal fire your critics are directing at you: I strongly believe you should not suffer from the knowledge you acquired and shared so bravely but rather bring its potential to bear, eventually reaping any benefits. Therefore, please do not let your critics tie you down in a debate where your opponent can and will negate any of your successes by not complying to reason with impunity. I cannot imagine that this is anything but a waste of your precious time. (Somehow I figure some of the historians and economists whose works you keep on citing seem to have been in a similar position. What did they do? Some of them seem to really have moved on from what surely must have been similarly disheartening experiences.)
Also, I don't think it is appropriate to keep on attempting to persuade those who actively refuse beyond reason. Instead, once you have certainly fulfilled your duty to give everyone an honest opportunity to debate the subject and to learn and develop their knowledge and world view, I kind of think that it is not only reasonable, but also your ultimate duty to leave behind all those who still are evidently not interested in accepting facts even despite overwhelming evidence. (Some will figure it out sooner or later, others won't. Why bother? I wouldn't think that an individual is to blame for the group failing, ultimately letting down all the group thinkers, but I might be mistaken.)
Humanity does not evolve if the most curious don't leave the cave until the least curious are leaving, too.
PS: Please also realize that what you do and did has afaik never been done before with such clarity to such a huge and diverse audience on a unified platform, thus certainly bringing an unimaginable number of world views and biases to the table. While it certainly speaks volumes about your work ethics and what crazy high standards you seem to impose upon yourself, I guess you really shouldn't focus on the summit you might have not reached yet, but rather give yourself the well deserved praise for any step you move upwards on a maddeningly undesirable route that I tend to think no one has ever gone before.

@@yousuck785why I was kind of referring to the so-called 'Allegory of the cave' by Greek philosopher Plato.
Bottom line, I think, is: While some people will put a lot of effort into discovering more insights and developing a deeper understanding which might in turn change their whole world view (in the allegory this means "leaving the cave"), others will do anything in their power to prevent any additional (and truthful) knowledge from altering their (comfortable yet more fictitious) perception of the world and therefore will never "leave the cave" voluntarily.
Thus, since there will always be someone around who is opposed to changing his perception of reality despite prospects of a more truthful picture, there wouldn't be any discovery at all if others wouldn't just start discovering regardless.

the problem with this is that people are naturally drawn to personal gain rather than collective gain. You can argue for collective gain for clans such as family but that’s more personal than for the public.
I don’t have a problem with you viewing our current society as an aristocracy. I agree. Much of the richest people in society are in an elite. However the top of society are not purely capitalist. Companies have shares and most are opened to the public through stock market etc. Though the main problem is that the existence of these aristocracy business are the result of state control of currency and trade being controlled by the state declared currency. I wouldn’t consider that based on free market principles.
On a personal note. I am still a little unsure of whether collectivism and state is good or bad. I’ve heard the argument about “state bad” but right now I’m still a little on the fence Cus I haven’t seen a reliable solution.

The seduction often starts from an individualistic argument. People who, for one reason or another, feel estranged from those around them are appealed to via those very qualities that make them unique and feel separated from (and sometimes even persecuted by) others. And in order to survive/be represented you need to ban together with people with similar characteristics/experiences. It's at this point that all nuance of individuals are abandoned and everyone is lumped according to group identity and treated as if they all agree on everything. If an individual disagrees then they somehow not really part of the group identity even if said identity is based on objective, immutable characteristics.

Getting through doing what? I have no doubt he's being accurate describing a certain culture in the UK, I know they call themselves "left", but it has f- all to do with actual socialism (whatever flavour), Lenin, or anything else. It's a horrendous strawman misrepresentation, which every actual left-leaning person (or one at all familiar with that) recognises as such. He also ignores the UK-specific context that gave rise to this faux-left worldview, which is essentially a reaction to historically extreme class-based stratification in UK society, ie the opposite of a capitalist competition-based meritocracy. It's just not a good faith argument and it's obvious. Classical Marxism was conceived in an age of need and deprivation, an age where to be productive one needed an owner of the means of production to permit one to work; we are long past this stage in the Western industrialised and post-industrial world, which runs a great surplus. You can therefore come up with an infinite number of criticisms against trying to apply it to the modern day without making sh-t up.

You have probably heard people claim that the British Empire was capitalist, because it was private companies that did everything. Like the East India Company.
The issue is that the East India company had a royal mandate to work on behalf of the empire. Nobody else were allowed to trade with India.
      Thus they had a monopoly.
For instance many cities and courtiers have regulation on who can drive taxies - demanding a test in order to get a license - and how many can get a license. The argument is that it will improve the quality of the taxies, or retain some image. London Black Cabs is an example.
Thus government will try to crack down on alternatives, like minicabs or Uber. Even though these provide a service people WANT for a cheaper price.
This is very similar to the old guild systems in Europe. Were guilds within certain industries controlled who could make what, and sell to whom. A town didn't need two blacksmiths after all.

I want to make the point that changing one's viewpoint on something is usually not an instantaneous process. It might be faster for someone open-minded like yourself, but most people are not open-minded. I think for most it probably takes years of education and internal debate. So it isn't worth getting frustrated by the dismissals of fully entrenched socialist or communist people because they aren't going to change their world view from one video unless they are exceptionally open minded. What you'd be doing instead is planting a seed of doubt into their heads that might not grow for years. And they definitely aren't going to thank you for that after the video. Instead they may insult or dismiss you because they are threatened by your argument. This is a good thing and probably more a sign of success than failure.
I think your videos provide different things depending on where people stand in the gradual process of internal debate. A communist might get that seed of doubt, someone on the fence might decide to read Economics in One Lesson and get to the bottom of things, someone in the choir might expand their knowledge further.
As for gold and silver, after a lot of thought I decided I didn't need to store my wealth in anything other than Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the only finitely scarce medium of exchange that has ever existed (21 million total supply). The supply of silver doubles every 22 years and gold every 59 years or so. Bitcoin's supply will never double again. In my opinion this just makes it pointless to store my wealth anywhere else. There's more to it than that but that's the most important part.

    Hey TIK,
    some thoughts on this:
It is really nice to see you think so much about these political things, as it appears there are two bubbles trying to pull you in in society mostly, left and right, but you don't have to agree with either in fact. It is always the right path to gain knowledge about the topics and building your own opinion. I wish others would put in a fraction of your effort.
I think the biggest problem is, that people work 8,9,10 hours, sometimes 6 days a week, and then don't have either the motivation or mental capacities left to think about these heavy topics, they are just exhausted. And to be honest, there is not much incentive to people to inform themselves sometimes, depending on your social environment, your education, etc.
Additionally, you may talk about definitions of socialism and capitalism, BUT not everyone uses those same definitions or even knows them. In the end, people like to turn things in their head to what they would like them to be. Or simply have not gone too far into the matter, but generally agree more with one set of ideas than the other. And they must not be evil to do that. Most people in fact simply want the best for others and themselves. The problem lies in that they come to different conclusions. And many have their reasons that make sense to them personally. The world is not black and white, it is many shades of grey, as it is said.
To me for example, there are some ideas from both left and right, being good ideas that make sense to me. One can't simply say "no these ideas stem from that direction, they absolutely MUST be wrong", the truth for what works best lies in the middle in between those different ways of thinking.
The only way to make other people listen to you, is to not call them out as idiots immediately, but trying to understand how they think and be willing to talk it out. Many people simply don't have the attention span to listen to or read everything you say however. If people want to be ignorant, they will be ignorant no matter what you do. I think everyones fear is to have their whole world view shaken from ground up, because it requires such a lot of effort to build it back up, and one would have to rethink their past decisions too. And acknowledging you maybe did a big mistake in the past or were wrong on a big topic is difficult to almost everyone.
I have always thought you are leaning a bit to the right side, as I felt you bash the "left" a bit more than the "right", but it is great to have an explanation on why you think so.
Another problem is, that a whole countries economy and a way to organize the millions or billions of people in a single country is not as easy as a few definitions. One person can not understand everything perfectly, and always react correctly at the right time, and what even is the best way to act. So, many people with different ways of thinking have to work together.
Most people do not want anything bad or evil happening to their country, they just have limited options up for the vote and no one will have EXACTLY the same opinion as someone else does.
I would sure like to hear your thoughts on this, even if this is just some very general stuff I said. Thank you for all your efforts in the quest to find the actual truth!

"you bash the "left" a bit more than the "right""
I've never heard him bash the right have you?
"Most people in fact simply want the best for others and themselves."
Milton friedman once said something about how you shouldn't take the will for the deed.
      " their country"
It's not your country or their country and it never will be sorry.
"So, many people with different ways of thinking have to work together. "
Don't beat around the bush what exactly are you saying? There is already a mechanism that allows for millions of people who have different views and values to work with one another and it's called the free market.

You will see in a few years how bad Socialist policies will effect China's economy that grew from free market capitalism during 1990 to 2015. Bill Clinton's housing incentive policy was a socialist policy to practically ensure banks would give out risky loans/mortgages so that he could increase the percentage of Americans who owned m homes to "stop poverty". Later on the government would add in an insurance through an agreement where they would bail out the banks if they collapse from these risky mortgages which would later occur in 2008; that's an economic crash caused by socialism,. The quantitive easing prolonged the recovery process thus forcing more industry to leave the west and find manufacturing supply sources in free market countries I'm Asia like China that had just started developing after adopting the free market structure. Black Rock came in as a government contractor to clean up the 2008 mess and became a socialist backed corporation which would later buy up and monopolise entire consumer markets for the benefit of the government and bankers in the long run, this is all backed by governments why do you think Black Rock forces cultural Marxism on companies they own shares in they are trying to get young passionate gullible folks to root for socialism which will in the end benefit Black Rock and it's friends, (Google, Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, e.t.c all have a main source of STABLE revenue from government procurements which is tax payers money they wouldn't be able to own the whole industry they operate in if it wasn't for government/socialistpolicies) they're buying up land and houses, why? Because the socialist utopia in their eyes is that you will own nothing and you will "be happy" renting, sharing, working , not investing in your own small business whilst creating new innovations or competing against other businesses to create a natural regulation of prices plus services.
Watch this video I sent a link to; that is the "poorest" provincial main city in China. That Park is Privately owned and rented out, those buildings are private, the roads in that city are private and they make revenue from leasing to private shareholder owned but public body bus companies for route usage as well as parking for commuters/shoppers. Those restaurants & shops are small businesses owned by locals who usually come together to seed invest after working 5 years. Don't have to pay VAT until December 2022 for small businesses that make less than £19,000 monthly in profit. Their income tax is so low and sometimes non existent, no council tax, tax bureaus do not enforce property tax yet at all. No road tax, just toll fees which go to private companies for long term maintenance. In UK , EU, USA if you want to have a business you need a lot of capital you can't rely on low skill labour because they're lazy and feel entitled to higher pay due to minimum wage laws which also increase living cost also caused by taxes which increases rent , thus you have a cycle of people living pay cheque to pay cheque where you can't save , and even if you do save for a year it won't last you a few months until you have to go work again. Why make £2000 per month when you're left with £100 after paying rent , utilities, food and other living expenses?; When you can make £500 per month and you're left with £400 after rent , utilities , food etc. etc. etc.
In free market systems you may have lower salaries as a low skill worker but atleast you will have a higher purchasing power in terms of living cost: 1 months salary can usually equate to living 3 months without work on that savings , rather than in a high welfare socialist chrony capitalist state like UK where you can't even pay for food let alone rent for the next month if you choose to stop working.

It wasn't a black pill pity party for me, it was the realization the political Right is playing the same games as the Left, and that the Road to collapse is the totalitarian, or tyrannical, control of the whole of society of a nation or country. The Left believes in remaking society through Government. The Right convinces people that if they have control of the State, they will use it's powers to stop the remaking of society through new laws or putting the right people in place. Either way, the biggest threat to individual freedom is the continued expansion and intervention of Government power, which eventually becomes society itself. It all becomes Socialism. It all becomes tyranny. And in the end, it will results in death and poverty. Thatcher, for all her faults said it exactly right, eventually they run out of other people's money to spend.

Hey TIK. I just watched today's post. Here are my thoughts on this matter. When I started watching your perspectives on Socialism, Fascism, and Capitalism, my curiosity was piqued. Raised as an ardent utopian socialist, I always fall back on calling right-wingers "Fascists, and Nazis" as equivalents to the right-wing Capitalist Elite in America. On the other hand, Socialism, as you noted, tends to eventually wind up as a totalitarian regime, with the "wolves" in society quickly moving into positions of political/social power to replace "The Old Regime".
Me? I guess I'm more of a DeToquevillian Capitalist under a democratic republic, ONLY because our Constitution created three equally powerful institutions to ensure that those same "wolves" that exist in EVERY society would collect in Washington DC and spend most of their time fighting with the wolves holed up in the other two institutions of power. Anything that managed to get through ALL THREE centers of power and agreed to by a majority of all the different wolf packs, would do the least amount of damage to the general population. My opinion only.
Still, what you've done is perform an extremely thorough investigation into the political climate of the major actors of WW2 and noticed some striking similarities that appear to run counter to the "Popular Belief" that serve to bolster the worldview of those same actors. So yeah, both the left AND the right are going to disagree with you; though I think the right-wing elements might like your commentary a bit better than the lefties.
They're both saying "Wait just a minute! YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HANG OUT IN THE CENTER OF THE POLITICAL SPECTRUM, THROWING STONES AT BOTH ENDS OF THE SPECTRUM. YOU MUST PICK A SIDE, THEN STAND AT THE EXTREME WITH THE REST OF THE IDEOLOGUES SPOUTING THAT PARTICULAR WORLDVIEW.

The reason why people yell this is because the centrists are the ones without any commitments or ideas, willing to vouch for anyone as long as they perceive it as giving them power. This happens again and again. The "Enlighted center" pretty much always allies with facists to combat the left.
Also, Socialism leads to a totalitarian regime? Wut? You mean, authoritarianism leads there. Yes, the so called Marxist-Leninists lead there because they decided to scrap pretty much everything Marx wrote and do things differently. They're about as much "Socialist" as they're democratic.
Which leads to the last point, TIK. I do like his war history videos, but his political takes are a total whack. Hitler's socialism is one of the sadly amusing things to taunt about. You know, the guy who put the communists & socialist to the camps. Even before the jews and other minorities ended up there. The only reason the party name was "national socialist" was because this was the early 20th century - every hip populist movement had to mention "socialism" somewhere. He even admitted this himself.

Thanks for the information TIK, and for expressing your frustrations. I only have two answers for you, and these I've learned over time:
    1. You CANNOT convince someone to change their minds. You do not have the power to do that. Change can only be made by that person. They must be willing to hear or willing to change.
What you can do is 'suggest', which is what you are doing. You can suggest they read various sources for themselves. You can suggest they consider a situation from this or that point of view. In doing that, it encourages individuals to empower themselves to consider something different or consider different viewpoints. Suggestion empowers individuals to understand they have the power of choice. It might be to not change anything. It might be to question preconceptions they have.
Again, you cannot change people. They have to be willing to change themselves.
    2. Why do the detailed analysis with the political and economical aspects included? For me, I am always learning something new from you doing this. It challenges me to consider ideas and concepts I hadn't thought of. It provides greater understanding to the historical events that happened.
So why do the detailed analysis? Please do it for individuals like me, who want to learn and understand better, how the events unfolded. I may not always agree with you but your research, and presentation of, is beyond reproach!
Do I curse at you? Sometimes, but it is because you have suggested a particular book that I now want to read and have to scour used bookstores for. I am happy to say my extensive library is even more extensive from adding your reference material.
Please, continue doing exactly what you are doing for myself, and others like me. We truly appreciate the dedication and hard work you put into each and every video.

There are collectivist ideologies like Communism, Socialism, Nazism, Fascism, Theocracies, and even Democracy (the tyranny of the majority). All of them consider society to be more important than the individual, which is always detrimental for the individual citizen. A proper government focuses on the health of the individual citizen by creating an environment where he can pursue life, liberty and happiness, be free, be responsible for his actions, pull his weight in society, and be equal under the law. I find hard following you on this one, Tik. You didn't necessarily said anything wrong in itself, problem is with the title: it should not be "Actually, Leftists aren't STUPID people" but instead "Actually, people on the internet aren't STUPID people".
I'm damn serious. Everything you described it's basically people on the internet or teenagers: paranoia, laziness, conspiracy thinking, rudeness, immaturity. This has nothing to do with politics nor economics whatsoever.
And I'm saying this because I've been doing politics for 15 years now, mostly within Italian centre and centre-left parties, from local elections to being member of a national board, and I swear that not a single point in this video (among those you mentioned as being socialists' critiques) has ever been brought seriously on the table in any occasion.
I've heard some of those points in the past, sure: in high school, when I was a dumb kid flaunting flags and picking battles I couldn't fully understand. But that's it. People grow up and understand that the world is not a giant Capitalist Evil Corporation composed of fat people dressed in tuxedos with bunches of dollars on their hands planning to take over Earth. And if they don't get it, well... they usually end up spending most of their adulthood posting and sharing on Facebook. Or worse, they end up voting for far-left and far-right socialist parties. Sometimes even "whataboutist" parties, like the Five Star Movement in my country.
So, what's my point? My point is that you are not arguing with socialists, you are arguing with kids on the internet. Immature kids, I would add. Or maybe US socialists. **
** [Dear American friends, pardon my political squeamishness, it's just that... you really messed up politics. Seriously. From every direction, Left and Right, Democrats and Republicans. If you'd just acted on 1/100th of what you tweet on a daily basis you probably could've taken over Mars, Saturn and Jupiter already. And some of you still believe Bernie Sanders is a socialist. What a mess... and if an Italian says you are a mess you should be pretty worried indeed.]

It's interesting that 1789 was the date the the current us system started. We have had to change form since then. How many different forms of government have European countries or other continents had since then. We in America have real serious issues, but so far we have managed. Barely at times, but we are still going. Food for thought.

    • @fdb718

@@adamhenderson6112 you did manage so far. Sometimes pretty good, sometimes pretty bad, just like any other country. Don't get me wrong, my intention is not to shit on your political system (which is quite different in certain aspects from European countries), but you are also quite unique: the USA is arguably the most powerful nation in the world while also being relatively young on the scene, historically speaking. Every other superpower of present and past time has/had long-standing political traditions, while you took on quite the influence from many different sources and then created your own system in just a couple hundreds of years.
Which is probably your edge, but also your weakness.
For any bits of the undeniable influence the USA has had all over the world, especially culture-wise (both proactive and destructive), there are many other factors that clash when compared to ol' Europe and the political tradition in general: Left and Right, for instance, is one of those.

Re: the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. What Adam and Eve did was reject the authority of God, and replace it with themselves. In other words, they chose to worship themselves instead of worshipping God. Since they are mere humans, and not God, they don't know everything, they don't understand the significance of evil actions. This led them to creating a fallen world, a world of violence driven by the worship of ourselves rather than worship of God, the objective source of all truth and life.
In regards to your video as a telling of truth and knowledge, it would work like this: the cult members are the ones who reject objective truth/reality. It's as if they are Adam and Eve, rejecting God, who is the ultimate truth.

Thanks for making this video, I think we have a similar life path, but my 'wake up'/mind change moment happened around 2015 or so in terms of social politics. In terms of interest in capitalism that didnt happen until 2018. I was basically apolitical for a while. Such a mental paradigm shift can take a while to process, I basically didn't trust anything I had believed for a few years, and spent a lot of time researching and thinking about my own values and whether they made sense.

Believing in an ideology that can be considered flawed, stupid, controlling, or narrow minded does not make you stupid. I believe in democracy, and I don't consider myself stupid either. Bottom line is, no political ideology is perfect. They all have their own benefits and drawbacks.

No, it is not a logical fallacy.
I have been studying philosophies for years and have taken different courses on logical fallacies and Democracy is not one of them.
      If so, please elaborate.
A system of making decision based on the majority rule is not an error in reasoning.
