The lads were very down to earth and did great interview. They have remained friends and play together to this day. Living cleaner than most bands in their era probably had much to do with their continued success.
I don't know why so many people are saying the questions are weird or the interviewers are unprofessional. This was a Norwegian kid's show, for 10-14 year olds, and all the interviewers where kids. Of course the questions are 'simple' and innocent, and the stars that went on there knew that. I think it's a cute and fun interview, and the guys got into the spirit of the interview and had fun with the kids :)
Also, the kids are speaking Norwegian while the guys in Europe are speaking Swedish. Our languages are mutually intelligible but there are differences, so there are a couple of times during the interview where the guys have to ask them to repeat their question. With that in mind I think we should be even more impressed by the kids, because I'm sure that made them a tad extra nervous.
To the non Scandinavians: They are talking about having success worldwide, and that not drinking too much booze or doing drugs is one of the reasons the band had come so far. Also they talk about Joey once played football (soccer) and has kept a good physique since then, as it's important when you are touring. They talk about how they've been inspired by many of the traditional english rock & metal bands, like Thin Lizzy. They talk about the fact that playback is a necessity if you wanna get your music out, since it takes hours to get proper live sound in a television show - Which leads over to them playing air instruments at the end

Daaaaaaaaaamn!! I must say I AM shocked; this is actually the first interview I've seen of them and daamn, is this Joey boy's voice DIFFERENT when he talks. In fact, it couldn't be any different from his singing voice, I listen to him and I think if I didn't know it I would never have guessed what a strong and beautiful singing voice he has! I mean, he's got a really nice voice anyway but it's just that he sounds so young, so simple, so boyish while talking... totally opposed to his singing.. never would have guessed, wow O.O ...
Agreed. Actually, the reason his singing voice sounds so different from his talking voice, is that when Europe started playing together, John Norum always turned his guitar volume up monster high. SO therefor, instead of asking him to turn it down, Joey just started to sing higher. It was the only way he could be heard, so therefor he developed that high tone :)

Eu vivi kkkkkk escutei pela primeira vez a The Final Countdown dentro de um onibus. Estava indo de BH até minha cidade no Interior de Minas. O som estava vindo da cabine do motorista,,,, eu levantei e fui ate proximo para escutar melhor, fiquei igual um doido procurando de quem era aquela MARAVILHA e naquela epoca não tinha internet, nem computador rssss,,,, agente conhecia as bandas atraves do amigo que conseguia comprar no exterior rsssss.... cara a The Final é algo divino.

Usava a tradicional jaquete dos anos 80 e uma calça justa. ( quanto mais próximo da câmera, melhor )E imagem de celular. Raramente vai encontrar imagens profissionais nos tempos atuais da banda.( Infelizmente) A verdade que continua em ótima forma física. ( aos 61)
Haha they are talking about that you shouldn't drink booze or use drugs... That it was a thing of the 70's but not the 80'. But behind the scenes they were in fact one of the hardest partying band of the era! lol. Clearly this was a kids show and they had a "script" what to say.
I am aware that i answer you a bit late but besides that i think it's kind of ironic of them to say that bands in the 80s were better at staying away from drugs and alcohol when it was as crazy as it could possibly be!
