- Check out the latest Gran Turismo trailer that encompasses and celebrates 25 years of the franchise. From its inception in 1997 on the PlayStation 1 from Polyphony Digital, Gran Turismo has been an integral part of PlayStation consoles up through the latest release of Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 available now.

It's actually crazy how much of a step up Gran Turismo 3 was. The PS2 was such a leap in technology!
The PS2 was a beast, made obvious that it's lifetime only just ended a few years ago

They didn’t show a lot of GT6 probably for that reason, it was a graphical downgrade to GT5
And greed you get half the game you purchase now and have to wait for a monthly drip feed of content

Suzuki Escudo on the Test Track, rubberbanding the dual-analog sticks for millions of easy credits.
That Escudo was my number one car in both GT2 ando GT4.
Van Halen on GT4 was epic. Love the games.

GT1 was one of my favourite PS1 games. It's a shame the last one was such a cash grab at the start, and the fact they hid the cash shop until the reviews were all in, just shows that they knew the microtransactions were aggressive and predatory...and that reviewers would have bombed the game out of the gate.
Now they are trying to fix it because people hated how bad the cash shop was.
Just remember...even your most beloved and nostalgic franchises are not immune to sickining corporate greed.

really sad. gran turismo is one of my all time favorite franchises even though the obvious decline started at 6. the latest release is just a tragedy.
man, this trailer is super pretty and heartwarming. It sure is a shame that Polyphony turned to corporate microtransactions for GT7, even though they NEVER needed anything like that previously. Nice job hopping on the band wagon guys!

25 years of memories, GT has been a game I've always found myself coming back to and feeling at home.
GT2 is my introduction back then, left it all after that. Then came back to GT7 hits that nostalgic discovery spot on! Congrats for the 25th Anniv. PD!
Through my older brother GT1 was my introduction but it was the PS2 game Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec that got me into the series
If you liked GT2, I'd recommend GT4.

Used to play GT with a regular controller...changed to a steering wheel setup from GT4...and it became a totally new game/experience...GT5 onwards, is meant to be played with a steering wheel to truly appreciate the series moving forward....
25 years aaahhhh, after a night out me and my mates would come back to mine and spend the rest of the night on the first and second game. The intro from GT2 was the best of all of them.
That jump from 2 to 3 fidelity wise is still astonishing.
I’m thankful for all the memories from the first until now

Ah damit this brings a tear to my eye...the first GT really helped me so much not just to become a skilled driver but to understand the way a cars performance makes a difference no racing game will ever be better than GT this series is phenomenal congrats to the GT team for a great 25yrs of gaming

Still own my GT2 and man the feeling we use to get hoping in a car then, to now is just mind blowing never expected growing up anything could look or sound better then GT3.

I'd argue they haven't made a "racing" game in a long time... at least not as far as single player is considered.
It's been, start 30 seconds down at the back of a moving slalom course of under powered cars, for a long long time now.
