I am a Georgian and have many ancestors that fought in the war. One of them, William “Shuck” Oglesby joined the 38th GA (Gordon’s brigade) and fought for the duration. Well, Shuck named one of his boys Jubal Early Oglesby.
A man walking his own path. Don’t know much about the man, I’m an Aussie, but know he was a Confederate General. Now I’m learning that I should know more about him. Can’t wait for the next upload.
Seems like Early's position was the same as several prominent generals of the CSA, Lee included, they would rather stay in the Union but their State goes and they go, same happened to Sterling Price and Lewis Armistead, makes one think about the internal turmoil boiling inside those southerners like George Thomas, Samuel Lee and Jeese Lee Reno that actually said country first, heart second; they all paid dearly regardless of where they chose to stand.
Just an Southern Girl..My Father's family arrived in late 1600..I'm a member of DAR. My momma's family came from Ireland..Some settled in Maryland and some settled in Charleston SC..
I’m a good ol rebel now that’s just what I am.
Lee’s bad old man! DEO VINDICE!

I been waiting on this one I’m glad you did Early but I really want you to do one on General Gordon please
@@WilliamLambert-ee2pe I'm looking forward to covering Gordon too.
This is such a great pick, Early is one commander that certainly does not have much media dedicated to him. Looking forward to the series

Excellent choice for a series.

Thanks again 👍
He was between a rock and a hard spot
P.G.T Beauregard should be covered. There aren't enough videos on the controversial general.
Once again you surprise me. A Unionist and he wanted everyone to know it. It just smacks of Early haha.👍🤣

Ohhhh so you're one of those scumbags for hawking the "lost cause" myth and wanting a confederate statue everywhere in the south.
A Unionists that was one tough Rebel. Most interesting
🎼 For this Yankee nation I do not give a damn 🎶
It just history
What kind of trouble maker in pop culture do you compare Jubal Early to during his time at West point?
Dr. Wilder.... Kanawha is pronounced Ka-Naw-Ah ... not Kan-A-Wah ... I've heard you say this incorrectly every time, in all your videos
@@kevinhart8339 noted. Ill try to change that in the future

Lavinia was a smart woman. She dumped Early. Early was a jerk.
