Ada class is way more effective as well as cost effective than the littoral combat ships, in practically all roles. Both classes of LCS got nothing going for it, truth be told. They are way to expensive to build, maintain, and suffer propulsion malfunction (in the case of the freedom class).
Sad because the Freedom class has the potential to become the ship that the US is looking for. It's the size of a light frigate, the suitable general purpose vessel to escort merchant ships or sea control at the low cost and able to conduct combat missions in green waters. The Independence name should've been reserved for an aircraft carrier. IMO the Austal vessel should've been the Cyclone's replacement.
Malaysia urgently need new corvettes. 11 to be exact. So the M'sian Defence Minister is in Turkey to decide between the Ada Class and C92 corvettes. Am told Ada is the chosen design. That means 3 will get built in Turkey while the other 8 will be built in M'sia (quicker if done in Turkey) under subsequent defense procurement programs. Turkey is becoming quite a defence supplier for M'sia.
UPDATE: Ukrainian Navy has ordered 4 Milgem corvettes too. Great channel by the way, nicely detailed and objective analyses. Loved to hear TSK marches.

Nice video with clear explaining of short Turkish historic including modern history of Turkish naval and characters &abilities of this warships has anti air defences as main duty....
The fourth ship Which will be designed and build in pakistan, will be the Jinnah class frigate (Most probably based and influenced from the Istanbul class FFG of Turkey). Once she will be launched, hope you will cover that too. @weapon detective
Railgun won’t be used on these (as these have already been built) nor the Istanbul class, or I assume so since the power requirement of railguns are pretty intense. Next gen, maaaybe? Atmaca missile isn’t crazy great, but equivalent to Harpoons, which is what we need, so that’s good. One important thing we need on our ships is indigenous defense missiles, air defense. We need an indigenous version of RAM’s.
I don't get it. It's been classified as Anti submarine ship but can only carry 4 torpedoes that too light torpedoes. Wouldn't it be wise to use 8 heavy torpedoes or 12 light torpedoes by replacing the Harpoons?
It can carry 8 actually, wrong info. 4 on each side on the upper deck. In fact you can find some vids and pics of Kinali Ada corvette with 8 on it while testing Atmaca missiles.
really only ASROC would be effective as an ASW weapon, any ship mounted torpedoes are generally very short range. Helicopters are the main ASW assets of all warships.
Thanks for the excellent video and informative introduction on Turkey's Ada class corvettes. And important correction, Pakistan Navy corvettes deal, two ships will be built in Turkey and two in Pakistan. . More importantly, it doesn't escape anyone to obviously notice your underlying political learnings and alignment in both historical and current state of Turkey in your presentation. One clearly can see that your information is very partial to one political point of view and this should not have to be the case when making a factual based material about a long-term national defense programs in Turkey. First, you have intentionally misrepresented the historical victories of the Ottoman navy as none existent though Ottoman Navy was one of the strongest and oldest in the world Naval history. Perhaps, the omission of Ottoman naval victories in the records of post new Turkey Republic is part of a bigger and well organized policy of omission and misrepresentation of anything Ottoman from the new republic's historic books, this quite evident in earlier Turkish education curriculums prior to AKParty government 2002. Second, you have misreported the fact that Turkey is isolated in the world today and that clearly contradicts the facts of Turkey's relationships with countries such Libya, the Balkans, most of members of EU block, UK, Latin America and most members of Islamic Cooperation Organization like key members Indonesia, Malaysia, all of central Asia Muslim countries and wider Islamic countries in Africa and the Arab world and even the US and Russia. Moreover, one of the first countries that were keen to buying Turkish Milgem Frigates and Corvettes or other weapons was Saudi Arabia, however that changed after killing of Jamal Khashogg in Istanbul. While Azerbaijan, India, Kuwait, Pakistan, Philippines, Oman Tunisia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan are major buyers of Turkish defense systems today. It's true today that Turkey has very aggressive and conflicting political relationships with Arab despotic dictators (Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE) though that's not entirely true in the economic and trade fields with these countries. Also, the relationship with Greece is lowest in recent times and this has something to do with EastMed and Cyprus issues and it's not solely Turkey's blame, unfortunately, Greece is acting like a regional power from position of weakness that's opposing Turkish interests in the EastMed or in Libya to a total failure on Greece part. Of course, Israel is another problematic relationship without going further into discussion. So looking at the bigger picture, within the EU block, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain and smaller states such Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania always side with Turkey, while France is the most clear anti Turkey in the block. Of course, it's understandable France's opposing position of Turkey as a traditional major European power that strongly competes with Turkey in various global stages. For example, today Turkey has more positive and dominant role over France in most of it's former colonies in west and north Africa, such as Senegal, Ivory Coast, Benin, Burkina Faso and Arabic speaking countries such Algeria, Morroco and Tunisia. Moreover, France has lost to Turkey both in Libya and Syria. This alone made France so anti Turkey in recent times. On the other hand, German-Turkish relationship is not one of competing interests but more of a working together on various mutually beneficial areas while disagreeing on others. Libya is a good example as Berlin took Turkey's position by excluding Greece and Saudi Arabia in Berlin Libya Conference. Another positive position taken by Berlin was encouraging Volkswagen to invest in Turkey instead of Romania and Bulgaria, of course, Qatar's investment in VW had played a strategic and decisive role too. Finally, most independent analysts clearly conclude that Turkey's moves both in Libya and Syria demonstrate Turkey's geopolitical strengths and not an isolation of Turkey, even though the view of Turkey's isolationism is quite prevalent in Turkey within CHP leadership who would like see a more favorable relationship between Turkey and Syrian blood thirsty dictator Bashar El Asad who killed thousands of innocent Syrians and caused greatest refugees crises in recent history, of course their position is born out of Alevi sectarian alignment not an overall strategic interest of Turkey in Syria. Also they favor a more substantially subordinate Turkish foreign policy vis a vis EU and most importantly US. Just the way it use to be in the last 80 years of the Turkish Republic. The bottom line is that your political learning does damage the quality of the information that you have provided in this video and I do hope that you apply an impartiality view in your next presentations in the future. Once again, thanks for the detailed video. Please read this article from DW. www.dw.com/en/turkey-eu-relations-which-countries-are-for-or-against-turkish-accession/a-40381533
