Judy I LOVE your videos and love watching you work and hearing you talk through it. For what it's worth, the music just doesn't work - the full volume hard cut from your lovely voice to the music is jarring. You don't need it - your voice and seeing your painting in progress is all we need!
Thank you so much for your beautiful offerings from a very late starter. And someone who is hungry for making art. I appreciate your time and effort so much.
I love so many different styles of painting....I keep experimenting with so many! But my most favourite is the freedom Abstract brings...It is also one of the hardest styles to get 'right'. Love this video of fun mark making...but also considering carefully the outcomes, to end up with a very pleasing image....Thank you for sharing!
Thank you. Playing with paint is something I have had to work at... crazy. Love your outcomes, especially the shapes created by the paper being pulled.
Thank you Judy for sharing your video. I can be so serious when I paint. I must admit I do find it difficult to sometimes just to play with my materials, which I must say are numerous. I am very much stuck at the moment with my art. Having moved home has really upset my ability to focus on anything. Not really happy with where I am is what is blocking me at. I think play time might be the answer to my problem. Thank you again.
This is a great idea! I'm working through Starts 1 and learning a lot but I feel a sketchbook just for play would be great. Two questions: what weight of paper is in your book? And how do you cut shapes out of the tape? You have one quite detailed large shape and I'm curious!
I love your videos - they're excellent and I have tried several times to follow your procedures but sadly I have been extremely underwhelmed by my progress and lack of development. I always start off excited but it almost always ends in frustration. After watching this video in particular I don't think my problem is not being comfortable with play. The difficulties I have always seem to stem from indecision. I find it hard to know/feel when to stop doing whatever I happen to be doing at that moment - unless it results in a clear disaster. Then I can spend hours, days even looking at the work and trying to figure out what to do with it. I've tried letting it "speak to me" only to discover that most of the time I "hear" nothing. I often become paralysed simply by the myriad of colours/tools/techniques.
Ok I am slowly catching up. I am starting at the oldest and working down to present workshop. I have done 42 and I think I am up to plenty to go. Don't want to now as imight call it quits. Regarding witches britches.i know you didn't mention this but , it might have blown their minds telling them that they had lacing all around the bottom. Hmm I wonder why they havent❤ been back in fashion
When did you put the tape on ? Was it green tape ? I'm confused with the shapes you seemed to glue down & the " Tape" you removed . Please clarify . Thank you ! It's lovely
I wonder if sticking the tape on some "backing" like greaseproof paper or a sheet of firm but cutable plastic might be a way to cut out interesting shapes.
To my eyes it could very well "leave the book" and live happily on a wall! 😊

I will pass this on, thank you, Rae (team Judy)
Yes, I totally agree. Love your videos Judy, but the repeditive music is quite distracting.
I enjoyed watching the process, only the music is too loud compared to the voice. Not easy when listening with headphones.
This is really inspiring & loose! I like this, Judy!
😊
Thank you so much! Make sure you're subscribed as I have another video coming out this week about how to get loose with your painting style.

Great work, how do you cut shapes with the sticky tape you used,? I like that idea

Judy please rely re the shapes & the tape you removed ? I thought they were the same green shapes . Quite confused about these steps ... thanks 😊
Was enjoying this video but the music kept blaring in and spoiling the experience. Hugh miss match between sound level of voice and music.
thanks I'll inform my editor and we'll try and be more subtle!
