All women have the ability to be feminine and warm when they feel safe. And that is the problem these relationships out here don't have women feeling SAFE.

@@MulattoStrawberryIt should be conditional. If you're in an abusive relationship, or an unsafe position, your safety comes first, not femininity. Love should be unconditional, not femininity.

i started saying ‘Hi how have you been?’ instead of ‘hi how are you?’, i think the first one exudes more familiarity and individual interest in the person, it feels more like checking up with a friend, to avoid how the second one feels like an automated response that isn’t as genuine :) thank you Dr. Michelle, you helped me realize the effect thats struggling with a lack of female friends has had on my personality and romantic relationships. I thought of myself as feminine because i dressed feminine and had feminine interests, but i struggle with interacting with others in a masculine way. your videos have helped me so much! and i love that its all in a christian worldview, it really is only possible with God.

It's difficult to be called those negative things by people who have never talked to you or witnessed you speak to anyone. They just see your Black skin and call you aggressive, mean, evil, ect. I have always been soft spoken, feminine, and kind to everyone I interact with. I don't even know how to raise my voice or catch an attitude with people. Even when I'm smiling people have still called that scary. When I was early 20s, I started wearing colored contacts and that made people see me as more approachable and treat me better. It was a sad discovery. I stopped wearing them and my mean reputation is back but I just don't care anymore. I want to learn new ways to come off as warm and soft for my future relationships but not for strangers who would label me without ever being in my presence.

i am sorry you’ve had that experience with people. it is not fair for them to judge you without knowing you, and i’m sure that’s been painful for you. you don’t have to change for anyone. all that matters is you love yourself and if they don’t live you how you are, they don’t have to accept it. you can achieve anything you wish for, including finding that warm part of yourself again. it’s still there underneath. have you ever listened to Toni Jones on spotify?

  • @PhelisaG
    @PhelisaG 3 роки тому +89

In my experience as someone who has always been viewed as unapproachable, I found that the reason I was not being warm was because there were things about myself that made me self-conscious like I had a problem with my teeth, and I therefore never used to smile but once I got my teeth fixed smiling was natural. So I think that sometimes you first should deal with yourself, if there are things you can improve and change on then do them and if you cant to be accepting of yourself, be okay with yourself, and your reaction and behaviour towards others will improve a lot. You have got to love all of you and accept all of you to even consider leaning on showing warmth to others. I guess its a thing of being vulnerable or not with things you are self-conscious about....

This is the video I needed.. It is very difficult for me to lower my voice when someone yells at me..
I remember as a teenager I would wake up Saturday mornings and make everyone breakfast. At holidays and birthdays, I would make cards with a separate poem for each person. I did all sorts of kind, loving acts. But this was discouraged and I was called selfish and accused of having ulterior motives. I just learned that if I'm kind and loving and show warmth it was bad and I would be criticized. It didn't helpe growing in a black community where being aggressive, fighting and rude was celebrated.

I'm happy to know you needed this. Yes it is difficult when you feel unappreciated or misunderstood. However do not allow other people to change the kind person that you. Their lack of ability to see the truth does not discredit you. You have lots of opposition but staying rooted in truth will always shine through. Thanks for watching love 🤍✨

As a 45 year old woman I have always known I was different. I interact with people and especially children very differently then others. It occurred to me last week that I just love making people happy, especially kids. I would say it is probably my defining life principle but I had never put it into words before. I am happy making others happy. It does make me warm. I like that about myself. In my 40's I stopped allowing people to take advantage of that though with clear boundaries. Probably why I like making children happy. They don't take advantage of my kindness. I love your videos. You have such a beautiful spirit. Thank you.

I love this ! I am beautiful I am kind and I am polite, but people often tell me I come off cold at first and they wish they knew how kind I was but they judged me at first. I want to radiate the real me, I won’t always have time get to know people for them to know the real me so I’m finding ways to appear warmer during our first impression

I have the same issue. It takes me time to warm up to people, and it takes them time to warm up to me. Part of that is true for me especially at work because I work a tough physically demanding job in health care and my game face is on, and partly because I’m introverted. I’m warm but it doesn’t always show. I just gotta work on it more.

For those I know, I ask how they are doing and catch up with them. I love hearing that a person is doing better than they were when I last saw them. I try to intentionally include something new that I’ve been doing without putting too much of my business out there. After meeting someone new, I always say “it was nice to meet you!” even if they don’t feel the same 😂, I honestly love meeting new people and I say it even when the interaction wasn’t that impactful. Some people are surprised when I say that to them. I go into all interactions with the awareness that I can learn something from them. So I show that gratitude by saying that. I also include all the people I’ve ever come in contact with in my prayers when I remember to. I truly am thankful for all people I’ve had the opportunity to interact with. They all taught me in some way.

It sounds like you have amazing boundaries if you recognize the malicious intentions of the other person and adjust your energy accordingly. I’d recommend to keep your boundaries strong and to handle those situations with a bit more grace. You don’t necessarily have to be in your masculine to react, you can react with grace and take a mental note of that persons behavior.
Stay true to your energy and don’t match other peoples.

Ways to exude warmth and kindness :
“by the way it’s okay to lack a skill, that doesn’t make you a bad person, we all lack something, we keep learning and remembering what we learned all our lives ;)”
-watch your tone : speak slower, lower your volume, be present in the moment, don’t use sharp words, don’t talk when you are in a rush or tired, use warm openings and closings in emails
-body language : leaning into the person, eye contact, be present, nod, smile a lot, look engaged, turn head to the right side, facial expressions to show emotions and empathy, stay off of multitasking when interacting, touch : hug, hand on back
-love for others : when you genuinely love you will do things with love, you will call to check up on them, send cards, intentional openings and closings : how was your weekend, have a wonderful day/weekend, I appreciate this exchange and wish you well, compliment something they put effort into

I think a lot of women feel cold or intimidating as a way of protection. I know when I don’t feel comfortable or safe around a person or situation I have my guard up and can come off as cold or not approachable. Makes a huge difference for me.

Como ser una mujer femenina cálida
    - Tono
+ Modular tu voz, hacerla más lenta.
    + No usar groserías,no gritar.
    + Hacer cumplidos.

I really have never known that there's a stereotype about black women. I've read about it on social media; but I've never understood when I read about it, especially because black women seem to me to be the most accepting, warm people on the earth.

I am a Bahai and appreciate how you infused God and Chirst in your lessons. All the feminine qualities you discuss are spiritual attributes mentioned in all the Holly Writings of different religions. What a refreshing and interesting way to present them and encourage us to practice them whiling looking our best selves. Thank you love! God bless you!!

This video has been a blessing to me ,Thank you so much. I choose to live a beautiful feminine life wholistically.

For those I know, I ask how they are doing and catch up with them. I love hearing that a person is doing better than when the last time I saw them. I take all interactions with the awareness that I can learn something from them. So I show that gratitude by saying that. I also include the people I’ve ever come in contact with in my prayers when I am in conversation with God. I truly am thankful for all people I’ve had the opportunity to interact with.
