It was way more effort than modern social media, but it was also cooler as the DJ could add their own comments. Honestly, you should get Adam on with his voice to do something like that on a livestream just for the fun of it.
I saw E,W, and F live in he 70's at the San Francisco Co Palace and WOW! They came out on stage with their full ensemble and they sounded like they did on their recordings. There was so many of them that they filled the stage! Talk about packed! Plus they had amazing special effects! Phenomenal! Never disappointed, pure showmanship and mories that have lasted me my lifetime! They are still performing even though we they have different members do to deaths. If you can, you really need to see them! They are one of a kind, as you know by now! I started buying their "albums" when they first came out (I'm a 'baby boomer' I'm 72 now, still love 'em) 😘🎶🌹
I saw them again last Spring (2022) and they put on an amazing concert. So energetic and just a lot of fun. Always enjoyed Verdine on bass, Phillip Bailey and Maurice’s vocals 🔥 They were so popular during my high school days! We LOVED them and still do. ❤
This is my all time favourite from the EPIC E.W.F, Phillip Bailys vocals that power behind him and yes the brilliant horn section just makes this an eternal song. Looking forward to maybe my second favourite "Fantasy" Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘🎶🎶🎶🎶💖💖💖💖
Teresa, Me too! I remember when it was first released, and have loved it ever since. Would 10cc's " I'm Not in Love " also be on your list? BTW, I turned 30 in the mid-seventies - I'm now 77! See, 'geezers' luv good tunes, too. LOL
It's been so long since I heard this song. It used to be all over the radio when I was much younger, I forgot how good it was. I also don't remember the saxophone (?) jazzing it up at the end. That was just what the song needed right there.
So glad you guys are getting into my favorite group E,W,&F. You should definitely try Fantasy next, or their greatest ballad that half the babies in the 70’s were conceived to, Reasons. Love the channel.
The key changes are so crucial in this song....they are like a new breath each time...as you feel the love and heartbreak. This came out when I was in high school.
omg I haven't heard this in forever!!!! I loved this tune back in the day ~ Great slow-dancing song. There is a great song I enjoyed back in the day called "EASY LOVER". A duet/collab between Philip Bailey (EW&F) and Phil Collins. It's a tune you should check out. It is a dance tune. ♥
So good. Almost there. You're heading in the direction of say, Spectrum by Billy Cobham. It's like taking Zeppelin, Earth, Wind and Fire, Steely Dan mixing them in a blender to pour a perfect sonic cocktail.
Serpentine Fire 🔥 is a rhythm section flex like nobody's business. It's definitely worth a reaction even though it wasn't one of their biggest hits it was a unique percussion led song that is like nothing you've ever heard. It was one of those album cuts that was good enough to be played on R&B stations but didn't cross over.
The kalimba, their horn section (the Phenix Horns), Philip Bailey’s falsetto, Maurice White’s voice and frontman-ship, and their transitions in between songs on their albums where just some of the genius staples of EWF. Would love to see you guys react to EWF’s “Mighty Mighty and “Can’t Hide Love” next! Loved this reaction btw
"They do all the work for you, every time." Yes. They sure do! 😏 I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that one going by. 👍 Important to note the amazing work by the incredible George Massenburg who recorded this masterpiece. Stellar sound from such a deep arrangement. Legend. ❤

Key changes,no autotune, real musicians. This is everything modern R&B artists try to emulate. And fail.
Was a teenager when this came out and loved it then, but in retrospect realize it sounds A LOT like Yes' "Roundabout" Anyone else agree?
Lol, I'm dying here
Such a beautiful song from my youth 🤗. Haven't heard this gem in a while.....thanks guys 🙏. Slow skating with a fella....this was magical 🕊️💜
Love you guys. Keep up the good work.
I bought this album when it came out - I still play it today - just the best!
Where have all the flowers gone...this was done during the Vietnam Nam era.
Looking forward to maybe my second favourite "Fantasy"
Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘🎶🎶🎶🎶💖💖💖💖
Leonid and Friends does a superb cover of this.
My favorite Earth Wind and Fire song. It's on my top five favorite songs of all time. Loved your reaction.
Teresa, Me too! I remember when it was first released, and have loved it ever since. Would 10cc's " I'm Not in Love " also be on your list? BTW, I turned 30 in the mid-seventies - I'm now 77! See, 'geezers' luv good tunes, too. LOL
Wonderful reaction. Next stop is Fantasy, without question.
Their arrangements are always so goooooood!
My 2 favorite EW&F bangers are Fantasy, and SERPENTINE FIRE -- if either of those don't get you on your feet, you just don't have a soul. Facts. :)
It's been so long since I heard this song. It used to be all over the radio when I was much younger, I forgot how good it was. I also don't remember the saxophone (?) jazzing it up at the end. That was just what the song needed right there.
Larry Dunn killing them keys
Very cool band!! Reminds me of high school!!!🤘🔥
The endlessly changing chords are literaly ear candy...... sublime
So glad you guys are getting into my favorite group E,W,&F. You should definitely try Fantasy next, or their greatest ballad that half the babies in the 70’s were conceived to, Reasons. Love the channel.
This song instantly transports me back to 1979. If you’re out there, Gary V, I still haven’t forgotten you…
The key changes are so crucial in this song....they are like a new breath each time...as you feel the love and heartbreak.
This is basically delightful, not just ear candy but a whole buffet of food for your ear.
EWF is like Stevie Wonder meets Chicago.
You guys love Earth, Wind and Fire and want "S" Tier, check out Can't Hide Love!!!
They recorded a cover of Where Have All The Flowers Gone.
Thanks for bringing back my high school years! Earth, wind and fire are the best! Great voices, music everything! ❤️
"They do all the work for you, every time." Yes. They sure do! 😏 I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that one going by. 👍 Important to note the amazing work by the incredible George Massenburg who recorded this masterpiece. Stellar sound from such a deep arrangement. Legend. ❤
Unique take on 'soul'... rich chord progressions & flawlessly stacked backing vocals...
