Music video by The Human League performing Mirror Man (2003 Digital Remaster).
You know what, one of the best things about being in my 50's now is that I lived my teenage years in the 80's..........Priceless and I wouldn't change them for the world!
I was born in the wrong era 😒😒
@@islabottalico5162 I know what you mean sister, but the wonderful thing you have is that you can listen to these tunes and rewind time and see it through you eyes
Me too

IAM 57 now and heard this song at 15 still great
Im so glad that Phil Oakey saw Joanne and Susan in a club dancing and recruited them for his band. It was the best decision he ever made. One of the best 80s bands ever.❤
Phil is incredibly fortunate to have those two beautiful lucky charms by his side. However, he does deserve them so I'm not jealous. I love their Love Action.
And they're lucky such a talented guy hired them😊
Great combo!
We are not old, we are older.
I'm 63, the 80's were the best time of my life!
Completely agree.
Me too
Those two girls and their beautiful faces
I'm 64 now ,I'm so glad I'm british growing up listening to such brilliant bands .
YOU WILL NEVER EVER EVER BEAT THE 70s and 80s! TOOO RIGHT!!!
Still great music in 2023
I`m still listening to Mirror Man in May 2021. I was 13 when it was released. Yes I may be old but this gem is AGELESS.
I was 14, I have just transported back in time to 1982 when I used to tape it on my cassette recorder from radio 1 top 20 on a Sunday evening. 😀 good times .
When it was fun being a teenager in the 1980,s. We were all lucky to have lived in such a decade. No pressures.
👍👌...
You aren't old. You're just more experienced!
I was 20
The 80s was certainly a fabulous decade for muzic.
The mirror can never remember you.
Joanne and Susan Ann are so beautiful.
Still are to this day, and always will be.
👏👏
The only time I'll ever say this, but they actually look good in short hair
Two babes for sure!!!
The 80’s, such an amazing decade. The emergence of so many different genres of music. The last legs of glam rock, the cashmere cardigan brigade, disco, punk, gothic, ska and electronic…. So spoiled for choice and all available to the masses at 7pm on a Thursday night…
Best music were made from between 1955 to 1985. Made for three generations to enjoy.
Omg ! The girls look drop dead gorgeous on this video.
Human league, league of their own
when I die I hope there is a parallel universe where I can go back to the 80s and relive this great music 😵
Take me with you matey! :) I keep day dreaming of finding a way to go back to the 80s and warn everybody TO STAY THE FUCK IN THE 80s and stop progressing to the shit of today haha
Check out my playlist of retro (real) music: it's a good time.

@@deadpaul6415 Thanks for sharing that nugget of wisdom.
Brilliant song, stood the test of time just like most of songs from the 80's. Still being played unlike some of the rubbish from the last 20 years.
So true 👍
You are so right there too really of course!
It's a great song; however, it got released late in the USA. It took more than a year before A&M Records released it as a single because there was no album for it. When the Human League wrote Fascination, A&M had them record one more song (I Love You Too Much) to release a 6 song mini LP. FASCINATION! I have a 12" single of Mirror Man which runs 4:21.
I like how his voice isn't that clean, there's a slight roughness. Especially on the chorus. Or is that a compressor?
@@Gunzee at that time, everything was done on analog tape. Digital recordings didn't exist until about 1983, when Sony started introducing the Compact Disc. The state of the art studio tape was Ampex 456 2 inch wide 24 track analog recording tape. Tascam reel to reel 24 track recorders were state of the art analog machines in the studio. What you hear is quite raw with no pitch control or compressor.
style icons, the lovely high style clothes and makeup attention to detail.. I have always wished I was The Human League
70s and 80s! BEST EVER Eras! Music wise! TOO RIGHT!!!!
15th December 2021 ... im travelling from Plymouth to Brighton to see The Human League ... my 50th Birthday pressie. Always loved their music and always will 🙃🙃🙃 as for Phil ... well ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of their most underrated songs ever. The harmonies and music are incredible...unfortunately it had the misfortune of being the follow up to Don't you want me plus it came out a year later...still a glorious recording
No the follow-up was fascination, then mirror man

The water shines
A pebble skips across the face
A dozen times
Then disappears, not a trace
Left behind
The thrower turns and walks away
A change of mind
Another start, a brand new day
You know I'll change
If change is what you require
Your every wish
Your every dream, hope, desire
Here comes the mirror man
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Says he's a people fan
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Here comes the mirror man
And if it seems
I'm not the one you used to know
Our little friendship, left behind not long ago
Don't feel too hurt
As distance heals the strongest pain
Things are much better now
And just the nagging doubt remains
You know I'll change
If change is what you require
Your every wish
Your every dream, hope, desire
Here comes the mirror man

Amazing pop music. 80s genius....

There is a certain vibration to these incredible 80s songs that just seem to yank your soul from your body and spin it around. Other genres and eras I can get tired of, but songs like this I could hear everyday and still feel that same wonder amd amazement as I did as a teen.
Amen.. let's bow our head in thanks. Blessed are we.. seriously.

I'm so glad I grew up in that era. These songs take me back to 8th grade.

Loving the 80s tunes proud 80s baby :)
I went and saw them live a few weeks ago. They broke out ALL the bangers, including this one. And it sounded brilliant.
They are so, so good.

All their best hits of old too I am sure and why not indeed too?!
Their albums were alright too, particularly of course with Dare. Hysteria, Reproduction and Travelogue were not bad too. But with Crash and the albums onward, they sort of went downhill and I went off them too really alas!
@@brucedanton3669 It was at Lingfield racecourse (after the last race). Slightly odd venue, but it was a perfect warm summers evening. And I won about £150 on the nags. Tremendous day!
A much underrated song
The most beautiful pop music came out of the 80s.
And 70's too...
Loved this song when first released in early 80s .. still love it in 2023
I’m a Tragic 😂
Phil Oakey has one of the finest voices in the business and his production values are flawless. He is better at making pop music than just about anyone else from the eighties. Who cares if he was just doing it for the cash.
Human League, I love the GENUINENESS❤
I’m still listening to this 2023 love this song timeless
Still listening in 2023?
I've had this as an ear worm for days since hearing it on the radio.
We had this song on in my local pub Friday just gone and we were all singing along to it
Incredible backing vocals in this hit from Human League from the fall of 1983.
Just saw them last night at Glasgow Hydro. They smashed it out of the park. Fantastic stuff.
@@kjmcindoe3014 goin see them in May at Ewood Blackburn !! 40 years of DARE album
The more we age, the further we are dragged away from our youth, the better those years will seem, along with their sights and sounds and feelings, as always happens over and over with every new generation of people.
God how is this 41yrs old (as of about this week ) I was 18 where has the time gone still listening to the 80s . Great tune still .
One of the 😊best songs in the 80s. I still listen to it and I am 63 years old. Even my children listen to it and they are in their 40s.
Growing up in the 80s this was one of my favourite bands.
The bass line is absolute quality
Ian Burden ?
Yes, Ian Burden, and he played it live in one take on this track!
Couldn't agree more. All the best 80's songs seem to have a brilliant bass player hiding at the back!
interestingly this swing 60's vibe is produced with a string bass , jus goes to show the diversrty of this band !!
Certainly is
I was in std 9 when this song hit the charts on capital radio 604. Reminds me of shower time in boarding school when everyone's radios were going flat out playing this track.
THIS song is so nostalgic
Woooow! A nicest sounds of those wonderful days. Even I want to cry. Human League's music will live forever.
Loved all thire music THE 80s MY TIME TOM ❤
The HL came to Cork about 10 years ago and I swear they gave one of the best gigs I have ever been at. For about 2 hours I was a teenager again, thanks Phil + Co.
I first heard this on the radio while driving on Interstate 55 in the summer of 1983 and have never forgotten this song. I've loved this song ever since that day. It didn't seem to get a lot of airplay back then on St. Louis radio, but sounds just as amazing in 2023 as it did in 1983.
Thank god I was an 80s teenager 💗
Loved this band.50 yrs old now and still listening.many great memories from there great songs.dont think they made a bad song.i loved them all.

I bought the vinyl single at the time. A timeless masterpiece from the 80's.
Hello Paul, I too had the vinyl of this song, it was an extended version that was one whole side of the album, it got plenty of play that summer....
This is the most reflective song that The Human League performed back in the '80s. 🎤
Yes I think this was 1981 my 5th grade summer …, the best music from LA. To San Francisco packed in a little Toyota with 4 siblings laid up in the hatchback
human league, what a super band, great memories,
This song was in the charts at a very happy time for me. Always fond memories.

Something magical about this 🎶🎼❤️song 😊
@lunes-1 I agree and I know what it is for me: it's the melody and the textlines of the two couplets. The refrain ('Here comes the mirror man...and so on) actually doesn't do it for me. But the other parts ('The water shines... and later 'And if it seemes...) have a magic result on me. It is sang powerful yet vulnerable and a bit melodramatic of content. And it sure makes me wanna copy Phil's voice 100% again and again. But I do realize that might be my very personal thing with this song. Though I spoke about with my brother who feels exact the same (must be the blood connection).
Great song. Philip sounds awesome. The lady's are fantastic. One of their best songs.
His voice defines the 80's for me in many ways.
80's music like this puts anything produced in the last 25 years to shame.
I love the 80's. I spent 95% of my time watching music videos on MTV !!!! Back when music videos were music videos !!! I love the 80's , the best decade !!!!
Well, back then 95% of MTV's programming actually still consisted of music videos. 😉
Now MTV's just a sad joke.
@@NuGanjaTron You are so Right On!! 👍🏼
Took these songs for granted back in the 80's.
There was always a "weird new band" being promoted....... and by the time you realised how good they were - they were gone.
Then you watch a show - and they have 80's soundtrack........ Love it.
Was a great part of the background when we were growing up.

The music of my generation
a long time ago....as it was yesterday...
damn, the 80's were soooo FUN!
human league mirror man fantastic tune luv the human league Andy Peover
The Human League really dominated the early and mid Eighties with their trendy music. Hard to believe this single came out four decades ago!
This group was VASTLY UNDERRATED!!!! catchy pop synchronized hooks that would even get a NUN up and dancing!!
It would be helpful if you'd state where in the world you believe they were underrated. For example, The Human League had 14 top 20 singles in the UK, as opposed to just 3 in the US.
I can assure you that whole swathes of the planet loved and appreciated them!
Que recuetdos de los 80 esto es musica
