    I tried it out. To me "dynamic" is the best mode. When I go to filmmaker or movie I end up adjusting settings that ends up just replicating dynamic. Looks way better for games too, I only use game mode when I need better input lag but game modes picture is worse

      I unequivocally concur! After all, I have been attracted to TVs with the most vividly vibrant colors, sharp contrast, and brightness throughout my adult life! Why should I settle for an 'aesthetically correct' picture when my peepers and 🧠 disagree?!

      @@kengreene5196 A good Film Mode offers that too, without looking garish like Vivid Mode. The colors are so garish in vivid that you actually lose a lot of the detail and nuances of the image. The textures become lost, it can almost look like low resolution.

    I think you did a really good job explaining and showing the options available for this tv. The ONLY thing I wish you explained was to inform people that with gaming mode on you WILL sacrifice some graphics for a quicker response time. This would make a difference for those who are playing a solo or campaign based game mode vs online multi-player mode where you'd rather the picture update quickly as apposed to have a better experience graphics wise when you don't need to rely on the picture updating and you see the kill replay when you scream at the TV saying "I shot that guy" and the replay shows you going down before you even raise your weapon. Now this is also effected by your internet speed. The SECOND thing I wish you did w your video is to show the difference in overall performance/quality with the different settings while gaming or watching a heavily CG dependant movie. Now I understand that the viewer will only be able to tell this based on the capabilities of the screen they are viewing this on...but you do speak quite well as to what is going on ao maybe you could verbally tell the viewer more about what occurs during these different settings based on gaming, high demand movies, and every day usage. Thank you to whoever spent the time reading this but the ones who did probably care about those things and have or would write what I did as well. ANY INPUT OR OPINIONS I WOUKD LOVE TO HEAR BASED ON WHAT I SAID SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RESPOND. THANK YOU!!!

    Why does "Color Tone" default to standard for game mode? I do like "Warm 2" as the best color tone, but I also like going with the manufacturer's presets. Just wondering why they made standard the preset for SDR gaming?

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  4 місяці тому

      Same reason why default picture mode after initial installation is in one of Cool presets. Panels are produced for correlated color temperature of 9000 K so probably that’s the reason why they show it by default.

    What are the differences between movie and film makers modes, Which mode do you prefer between the two?

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  2 роки тому +1

      Both are the most accurate by the default - the difference is that Filmmaker mode has lower default brightness (around 100 - 120 nits) so it is more suitable for dark room watching if you do not touch any setting. But just like Movie mode, you can tweak brightness to the level you find OK for your environment.

      Hey Alexander - my recommendation goes to equipment available in Portrait Displays store - I'm using their products for over a decade and I'm very happy with it. They now offer their Calman calibration software with reduced price specifically for a few brands (Samsung supported), so if you're planning to calibrate just your own TV, this might be an interesting option. I have a q65a coming soon, I have a ps5 but it's in a different room. I notice you advise "home" mode rather than the "retail" mode which impresume would have uhd content. So what type of source image is best to work with when tweaking settings? I will likely have uhd from my cable provider or netflix. Some of this video uses night city images which is often seen in retail demos.

    • @TVguyDarko
      @TVguyDarko  2 роки тому

      Hey, for tweaking picture I suggest images with skin tones, where light is coming to a face from one side so you can check how details and colors in shadow looks like. You can use some great demos on UA-cam - I recommend Jacob and Katie Schwartz channel - ua-cam.com/video/NC0WPQd_bds/v-deo.html and their Morrocco 8K video. You can also use test patters, like free AVS HD 709 test disc. Also on Netflix there is a ton of great content where you can pause a scene and do your adjustments.

    Hi Darko, thank you for the video. I have a question in general about Samsung TV colors. I have been looking at the Samsung QN90A TV. In general, I lean toward Sony TVs because for me, their colors seem more natural. Samsung TVs have always seemed over saturated colors to me, and I don't like that look. But I am interested in Samsung QLED. If I use your color recommendations, can I buy a Samsung QLED and get it to look "natural" like a Sony? Hope that makes sense. Thank you. :)
    Forgot to mention, I will not be using the TV for gaming. I will watch some streaming services, possibly some cable box, some OTA channels, movies and TV shows. Some old TV shows, also, which will need upscaling. I am very sensitive to motion of any kind. Thank you.

      Hi! Samsung is definitely shooting at its on leg with those demo materials and oversaturated approach to colors - I fully agree that Sony TVs look better. But for Home usage and in accurate picture modes (Movie, Filmmaker mode with Color gamut set to Auto), you will get a natural looking colors close to the standards.

      Tatejamo; I have the diminutive 32" U.S. version of the Q60a. I am clueless about the tweak options on the QN90a or your QN92. Those two are former flagship state-of-the-art, with myriad options an inveterate tweaker like myself genuinely would go over-the-moon mad over; my Q60a merely has the rump rudimentary choices your Q92a has, after all, even on a sale you likely invested at least 1k or more in your local lettuce! While I paid a bit south of $500 for my Q60a

    Hi Darko - your videos are so helpful - I recommend them to everyone. What settings should I use for sports on a Q70a? I love the filmmaker mode for movies - but sports seems to want a different setting. And is there a setting you prefer as far as motion etc, for watching sports?

    • @TVguyDarko

      Hi Joan - thanks so much for watching and for spreading the word about my video! Related to sport content, since it is created according to the same standards as movie content, Filmmaker and Movie mode are recommended. The only thing you should adjust is Brightness and Gamma to make the picture brighter and more engaging. White balance should remain at Warm2. Related to motion, if your TV has Blur reduction option in the motion menu, definitely increase it to see more details in panning shots or when players move on the screen.

    Instead of automatically detecting the incoming signal and matching it's color space the TV is always using the color space which is picked in CUSTOM setting of this feature
    If you have chosen DCI-P3, AUTO will exactly output DCI-P3.
    If you have chosen BT.2020, AUTO will exactly output BT.2020.
    I'm facing this issue on my Q70A and it seems 2020 models are having the same issue like the Q80T and Q90T
    Now my question is, what "Auto" is more accurate for gaming (in general) and specially for PS5? Auto fom DCI-P3 color gamut or Auto from BT.2020?
