Unrelated to the topic, but I don't know who else to ask. It happened several times this week: I'm shooting with my Beretta 92X Performance and the slide gets completely stuck and almost closed (it doesn't close for a milimeter or so). Took the magazine out easily but the slide remains locked. Finally I manage to open it. I don't know what's the issue, since the slide was virtually closed and I don't see what's going on between the chamber and the ejection port. Tried different brands of factory ammo and that seems to be irrellevant. Any idea of what's causing this?
I have a couple of 320s that I use as nightstand guns (I no longer shoot competition). I obtained the 320s specifically because I shoot them well. I've put Apex triggers into two of my S&W M&P (both 10mm) and it was a transformative change. after watching the video, I think I'll try Apex in one of the 320s and see...
Did your KKM barrel drop in or require fitting? I have one that I received recently and the Xfive has a bit of a hitch going into battery. Trying to decide if that will fix itself through break-in or if the barrel needs some fitting
As someone who has spent their career in engineering, tinkers with everything they own, shoots a 2011 in LO and recently became fond of a 320... I can confirm all of this hypothesis.
Yes that is exactly what it is. It comes with a good barrel but put on an aftermarket barrel (nice KKM), send it to the sig armorer for a competition trigger job, and put on an SRO or Romeo 3 max and viola you got yourself a 2011 for the poors. I've also heard a gas pedal elevates the experience a ton.

After listening to Ben's take, I think he's on to something. I'm not one to get into doing any in-depth tinkering of firearms BUT its pretty much what my low-rent a** does when it comes to my P320s. The platform is simple enough for the curios to explore without becoming overwhelmed.
The entire Carry Optics division is this. You can get to 80% of what Open is for half the money and you can do it just with a pin punch and a screwdriver instead of files and stones.
I've always found that expression irritating. It has some truth in it but untruth as well. There's a reason that competitors in every sport use as good of gear as they can reasonably get. It's like the expression about a good craftsman not blaming his tools. I don't blame my tools for things but i also know that sometimes you really do need the right tool for a job.
I am curious if anyone else has experienced this. With my P320 MAX you could pull the trigger, but if there was any side pressure on the slide, the gun would not go off. You could take your finger off of the trigger and it would go off as soon as the side pressure was removed.
You need a full size steel frame pistol to score decently while shooting at the long range, past 25 yards. If you do not have to score at 50 yards, you do not need a performance gun. It is possible to score at 100 yards with 2 inch pistol but how many hours of training and how much ammo it will take? Am I right or not?
Loved my P320 with the 2011 style grip module (m1811) but I had to modify it to feel comfortable carrying it (APEX trigger with the "dingus"). Carrying a modified from original pistol on duty is just not kosher in my opinion and no go by agency policy. I ended up just buying a Staccato P for duty since it has everything I'm looking for and no need to modify it.
I spent a lot of money making a 320 as nice as my P and I can comfortably say you can absolutely do that and get a massive performance improvement as well as getting a gun that you could tune to yourself. If you have a discerning mind and can interpret factually what the gun is doing, you can definitely dial it in.
Not sig related, but when doing doubles I drop my first shot and my second shot is perfect. About a .25-.28 split, so not super fast but I'm also not really taking my time with the second shot, just slapping the trigger as soon as it's on target. Do you think I'm trying to manage the recoil on the first shot and that's why I'm flinching, but the second shot I'm not managing the recoil because that's the end of the drill? I don't really know how to diagnose my own problems.
Have owned a 320 and Echelon for a little while now. Couple thousand rounds through each. They both run great and have never had any ND issues holstering/unholstering the 320. I use a Safariland holster for what it's worth. Great guns imo.

I’m not poor but I am lazy and swapping parts for different divisions or IDPA/IPSC/USPSA while maintaining training consistency in the manual of arms is very easy with the P320 platform. I have no issue with trigger reach on the OEM FCU/ trigger but I have large hands . For practical game accuracy the P320 is fine but I tune my load for them.
I had the intention to build an X5. And yeah, it would be a steel(ish) framed double stack for cheaper. But I have simce decided my money would be better spent on other options. Not that I have a problem with 320's per say. Rather just save up for a shadow, tanpho, or steel pdp.
Without a magazine, the tolerances allow the slide to wiggle so you see it push up as the striker safety lock is disengaged by the lever, and then you see the slide move down as the sear drags down off the striker. With the magazine inserted, the upward pressure causes the bottom part of the slide to ride on the bottom part of the rails so there is longer any movement. Some guns have more/less tolerance and it may be more/less noticeable.

Its literally a Sig p320... It should not be used for anything other than a paper weight. Truly. Unless you replace all the parts with quality tested parts I wouldn't touch one ever again.
How do we feel about gas pedals on handguns??
Ben, if I glue a red crayon along the top of a pistol slide, will it function the same as an occluded dot?
I had the intention to build an X5. And yeah, it would be a steel(ish) framed double stack for cheaper.
But I have simce decided my money would be better spent on other options. Not that I have a problem with 320's per say.
Rather just save up for a shadow, tanpho, or steel pdp.
“Meant to mitigate out of battery detention issue” why do people still buy the P320?
Top of the line in budget shooting sports!
Unresolved discharges are a matter for the courts!
Also, Ben, I have noticed that when you apply pressure to the trigger and engage the sear you can see the slide rise ever so slightly.
What you think of the echelon ?
I think it won't fire in the holster negligently like a Sig pistol will.
They have bad QC. Most Springfield is bad.
@@brandonlalande-mu6zxwhy is it that not a single professional shooter has had an issue with a Sig? The gun has been used to win championships and records for years, notably by Max Michel, Mason Lane, Lena Miculek, Daniel Horner... The only people popping themselves are the same cops who were popping themselves with Glocks
@ 😆 I have echelon and hellcat pro combined about 2,000 rounds never had one single malfunction. Love them better than any Glock tbh
@Caliboy94 cool
Is it easy to find the red dot on the 320?
I’m really curious what you think about the trigger safety on the Agency trigger. I’ve seen a lot of people saying they don’t like them but not a lot of people are your category of shooter.
I AM a poor!! Spot on Ben. Spot on.
“Oh I know it’s sad. The swine in there, they’re dirty, stupid, and worst of all…POOR” - PCU
So glad I ditched my P320 before I got ded'ed. God spare the poor sucker who bought it.
What’s up Ben. I created the first flush comp Glock I have ever seen. I have seen clones with the flush comp but never a stock Glock with the radian ramjet flush.
G17 frame G45 slide with the radian timney trigger for now.
I had to modify a few things so it’s not as simple as putting the g45 slide on a 17 frame. I tried to tag you in the instagram post but I have no clue how insta works.
It’s sweet I have few more mods I am going to do to it like backstrap reduction and possibly a different trigger. If all goes smoothly I will put the info out on how to make it.
Most competition shooters muck around with their guns, regardless of brand. The P320 with its modularity makes it easier
We have this model available for us in California, but i’m waiting Ben to give the greenlight on making purchases like this. If his model blows up, I’m totally staying staying away from them.
M&P gang checking in! Our turn next ????
Might be on to something there Ben. I sold my Sig 320’s to buy a Staccato. That, and the 320’s have issues.
So I'm curious what does that make the 2311? Because it's both? Is it now a full blooded 2011?🧐
I have a M17 and it’s exceedingly mid grade. I don’t hate it, I don’t love it, I wouldn’t recommend it over a Glock.
Watch out for Sigs on Black Friday , unless you really want that Walmart flat screen and 2 for 1 weaves.
I guarantee your P320 will never go off on its own either. IDC what the Sig haters say..the FCU setup and aftermarket support are top tier amazing.
Owning a Bul UL, fully modded Prodigy, stock PT HTAC and also owning a DH3 and have shot Xfive legion, I 100% agree with the statement of being a poor man’s 2011, besides the trigger feel, my DH3 shoots like a laser, any off shots are a 100% my fault and getting used to a hinge trigger vs straight back pull.
What do you think of the sid fuse
I have the SA disconnector in my 320 AXG...kind of a piece of mind option.
Curious - if money is no object, what’s the ceiling on performance that you can hit with various modifications?
Yep, definitely gonna take a class from this Benjamin guy. I will shake his hand, too. He seems nice.
Ben, will you please test the optics ready HK VP9L?
I’m the same way with my P365 I think I’ve been through 3-4 iterations of it. I just like to tinker with it. 😊
What's up my siggers
Sigga please
I shoot the p320max for carry optics, but Staccato for limited optics
I totally agree & well said.
It becomes a 2011 more when you put a different grip module on it.
Comparing a staccato to a p320 x5 is wild. Roughly 2x the cost at minimum
Just saw on the Apex site that their p320 products are being discontinued effective 1/1/25
How is the CZ shadow2 not the 2011 for poors?
Nobody is rich enough to afford the potential medical bills from carrying a SIG.
Once I started competing, I stopped messing with my guns. Glocks get a flat shoe, striker spring and optic…
Guns don't kill people!
Sig 320 - hold my beer
Sig should just pay Sig Armorer for the rights to his kit and just put that in the design of every 320
No gun can be compared to a 1911/2011 unless it has a bow trigger
Its literally a Sig p320... It should not be used for anything other than a paper weight. Truly. Unless you replace all the parts with quality tested parts I wouldn't touch one ever again. Sig deserves to go bankrupt for selling that reworked, halfa$$3d design. And giving it to our military as their last line of defense makes it even worse. I'm a p226, Beretta and Glock lover.. and 1911 lover... But the 320 is legitimately dangerous because of sig usas incompetence. Those responsible for ripping us off should be sued into bankruptcy. Id love to see when they 1st knew there were problems with the design and what they did.
LO?! How is the 320 better than anything? S2, Canik etc
