the cutscene in the end's new fight where sonic loses his super form for a few seconds and loses all his rings only plays if you miss a parry, otherwise you can completely avoid it by parrying every attack
12:42 It resets your jump. Meaning you regain your double jump and reset your flight timer. Which means infinite precise flight. You never have to get tired and you can infinitely gain height. Honestly, my favorite skill in the game.
To me, the Master King Koco's trial was hard, but it didn't took long for me to finish. It probably took me like 4 or 5 tries to beat it. Thankfully, I have been practising the Parry by timing it, using my other save files for replaying the Titans, while waiting for update 3. I honestly appreciated the challenge. Kishimoto was not lying for making things hard. Full respects to him and his team.
Tails’s charged attack resets your jump, flight and air boost so if you use it while flying you can use it forever. You can also use it to reset your cyclone boost. It’s fun to mess around with.
I agree that perfect parry during the previous titans was absolute BS, BUT, it's actually pretty cool on the Final Boss, because you can actually see the distance between you and the attack at all times, making it WAY easier to get the timing just right, even on hard. Those trees can burn in hell though!
Yeah but you still have to go ALLLLL the way back to the tower and use the pulley, then talk to him. Like if I’m on the other side of the island it feels dumb they don’t just let me change in a menu, especially since when you ARE on changing characters, it is LIGHTNING fast, wouldn’t be too hard to change I feel like
@@julianx2rl yeah they handled it pretty well in the base game, dunno why this doesn’t let us just change instantly. Like if they aren’t gonna let us use the jukebox in this DLC, then use the D-pad to switch characters I guess
@@oreogod1985 - To give them credit, they probably didn't want you to reach an Amy reward using Tails's Tornado only to immediately Switch over to her in order to collect it. Like, they probably want you to clear whatever platforming section there is as* her, same for Knuckles.
I think that’s the best way to put it. Like yes there are some parts of the game where I’m just like, why? But I would lying if I didn’t say that this is some of the best Sonic gameplay ever
You wanna know how Extreme mode was like on that 5th trial? It took me 20 Hours. Giganto was hard until I realized quick cyloop allows you to do double or triple damage. And I can parry and then run during the phase 2 before he slaps you after you cyloop him. Wyvern Oh boy. THAT is why it took me 20 hours. You can exploit it a little. If you hold the dodge button, you're literally invincible. The missles won't hurt you and nor will the wyvern slashes. But to parry him.. You have quite literally, FOUR FRAMES of parry. And each time I failed, that running section before the fight got so mind numbing and boring. I literally hate wyvern with a passion now. Knight was easy. Just quick cyloop and you're fine. Don't parry the shield in phase 2. Instead, just hang back and sonic boom your way to victory when he slides around.
Wait... you can just not parry the shield in phase 2 of Knight ? Oh... Knowing that information would've saved me a meltdown. Ah well... I ended up beating it at some point so all good I guess.
I just noticed if you pause as Cyber super sonic is flying up towards the end, he looks like fleetway super sonic. He has the rings around his eyes and the sharp teeth and ya know, is about to murder someone. Idk if it was a direct reference but it’s sick either way imo
24:20 The cutscene doesn't play "at one point", it triggers when you get hit by an attack in phase 2 for the first time It still has basically no indication like most of the fight, but it's not random at least
The part at 24:22 only happens if you can’t parry one of the energy balls, it’s just hard to understand that because it barely shows the recoil of the attack before the cutscene plays
I've just finished playing Sonic Frontiers about a week ago, played all the updates and I have to say that this is by far the best 3D Sonic game I've played in all my years. SEGA and Sonic Team have finally bounced back and redeemed themselves. It may not be perfect but it sure as hell was worth the long wait and my god they did not disappoint me.
the best way that i can describe frontiers is that it has high peaks and low valleys, but if you run into a rock just right then you will launch from the lowest valley to the highest peak
Finally finished Frontiers yesterday so I could fully watch this video! It's amazing how much this game improved over the span of the 3 updates. While the final boss against The End was really confusing at times, it sure made up for it in spectacle. Your videos on Frontiers have been super entertaining and now that Frontiers is officially complete, I hope you'll still be making videos in the future!
21:08 the hard perfect parry actually works here and I played this boss the first time in hard and I only died because of confusion that I didn’t know what to do once I did I speed run this boss easy cake
I manage to sneak u into videos every now and then lol And yeah I think I will make a superstars video, maybe centered on the multiplayer or a straight up review
Update 3 of Frontiers is the most fun I’ve ever had with Sonic period, I don’t care what anyone says, the challenge of the towers was so insanely thrilling, and the guardians and cyberspace stages are awesome, the ost too, I’ve been listening to those cyberspace themes on repeat! I’d easily put this update higher than Sonic gens or Mania and idc what anyone says to that.
I’m conflicted on the updates and Sonic Frontiers as a whole. On one hand, the game is filled will a lot of great moments and ideas. Sonic controls great, the Titan fights are amazing, the character interactions are good, the extra playable characters returning was refreshing, the new final boss with Sonic pulling off all these new crazy attacks was so cinematic and cool, and a bunch of other great things. However, it’s clear the game was rushed from the start either not receiving enough development time or money. There are many glitches and poor design choices that plague the game and make it frustrating to play at times. At the end of the day, I still enjoyed Sonic Frontiers and it’s updates and I consider it in my top 5 Sonic games. But I hope from here on out, SEGA will allot Sonic Team with the necessary resources and time for future Sonic games and allow them to continue improving on the ideas of Frontiers. It’s clear Sonic Team wants to keep improving and pushing the series forward, but they can’t do so without the proper support from SEGA.
fun fact the game DOES tell you to cyloop the gun in its back, sidestep to hit the cord etc but only if you 100% the entire island for some reason??? your reward for completing the entire island, is battle guidance from master king koco on how to defeat the thing you probably already defeated what
Tails Amy and knuckles all have the spin dash that plus their ability to fly makes it super fun and Amy triple jump even keeps the moments of your spin dashboard
The problem you had that you weren’t told to attack his other thing rather than his head, I figured this out cus for me a prompt came up if you press down on the d-pad it said try attacking something else other than the end
Yeahhh college has really taken over a lot for me, this video just took so long to make lol I won’t be able to really pick up the pace too cuz it’s still going😭
This game is awesome! I still play it and have poured hundreds of hours into it! I just love running around the open zones and completing those platforming challenges! While the platforms are scattered around with seemingly no cohesion, I think they're still well designed and add to that mystery of looking AI generated, which helps with the backstory of Sage, and I don't mind the platforms being suspended above the ground, as I still think the game looks great. There's just something about it, the aesthetic and the music, and especially the story, that makes me want to keep playing it. The enemy and boss designs are stellar. The titan fights are highlights, though gameplay wise, they are really easy. I agree about Cyberspace, and I don't mind them reusing old levels as long as they are fun. I wish the combat was a little better, and Sonic's parry timing should be changed across each difficulty. It's bizarre that they didn't do it for Sonic yet for other characters they did. With the latest patch, the physics are better, it's less buggy, but the difficulty has been eased, which was in response to the complaints from fans, but I wish they did that as a choice, rather than replacing the previous difficulty. But despite that, I think this is better than Shadow Generations. I think it has the soul of an open world Sonic game. Though I do wish they'd further update it a little more, as it would be perfect for me. Do you think they'll still update or patch this in the near future? I'd love it if they could fix the pop-in. I can't believe it's been a year since the best Sonic game got the best update! I find all playable characters fun to play, though not as much as Sonic, of course. They made the platforming challenges much harder and more open-ended, less linear than previous ones, which were too simple and automated. The new ending is a mixed bag for me. But the story is even better than before. What makes this game better than others is that I think it does playable characters the best. It also doesn't waste your playtime with non Sonic gimmicks as much as otherSonic games, especially Adventures 1 and 2, and Sonic feels great and fast to control. I disagree heavily when people say it's a Breath of the Wild ripoff as while it's clearly inspired, it also has a lot of differences, and I think I like it more. I even like that some challenges make use of momentum and make you think outside the box. The puzzles are mostly not challenging, but more like movement exercises, and i don't mind doing them. Overall, a masterpiece ✨️ Yeah, I don't mind the reusing of level layouts as the new movement makes it feel different. I similarly don't mind the koco quests, with most being optional, as long as they're not too annoying or pacebreaking. The worst part is probably the pinball minigame or the laser puzzle or the crane task. Cyberspace looks exactly like Generations, but I do like how they at least added the digital effect to make it feel new. Also, I like the presentation. I think the animations are quite good in general, better than in previous games, and I don't mind the realistic artstyle. While it's a triple A game, I do wish there were some CGI cutscenes, but that's probably because of the day-night system, so everything runs in real-time. As I said before, I really liked Frontiers, and it was almost perfect. In my opinion, it can only get better, not worse. Forces, while I think it's very overhated, and I kinda like it, I also find it kinda hard to defend, and I feel it was the dip in budget and quality and passion, it terms of both gameplay, design, story, and presentation, even though I don't think it's souless or lazy like many say. Frontiers, to me, felt like a high budget game, even though some corners were clearly cut. Not to be a blatant hater, but I don't think we'll ever return to that dip of content in the 2010s, as while I think saying it was the definition of mediocrity is a bit harsh, I don't think you could get worse than that. The next mainline game might not always be better than the last, but at least it won't ever be of that quality, let alone worse. Frontiers might have been great, but it can only get better, and that's hard to imagine!
THE LEGEND HIMSELF After all after all the controversies after all the conversations I just wanted to thank sonic team for not letting this game be a burn out literally a no mans sky plus cyberpunk combined revival
The part where you had to replay the three titans pissed me off like so bad to the point where I accidentally threw my controller but it still works 😂😂😂
I haven’t been able to play this fully cause the day this update came out I had to go to work immediately after school and close and the day after that my family started our Disney World vacation for Fall Break and I only had an hour to play so I really only got first impressions, and dang the difficulty spike was annoying, seriously, frick that fourth tower, but granted I was playing on hard mode so when I get home and start over Sunday I’m gonna play on easy and hopefully work my way up through future playthroughs (cause like the last near year, I’m probably gonna continue replaying this game to death), but maybe it’s a good thing I learned more about this update and what to do instead of avoiding spoilers cause if I did that then I’d probably have been very frustrated at the final boss, even with my frustrations from the difficulty spike when I first tried it, I’m excited to fully do this, especially that final boss cause just from watching it, it’s easily one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in Sonic history (very much helped by the new version of I’m Here which I’ve just been hooked on since I first heard it) Edit:Just finished the story on the update finally and yep, that made me love the game even more than before, even on easy there were still some issues like some annoying difficulty (seriously frick that final trial), and Tails, Amy, and Knuckles’ gameplay could’ve been better, mainly in the combat department (which is kinda upsetting and embarrassing for Knuckles especially), but I still had a lot of fun with many things, including the other characters but they definitely have a lot of room for improvement, mainly Knuckles, and that final boss may be my new favorite final boss in any Sonic game and what a redemption for that with Frontiers, this game went from having possibly the worst in the series to (in my opinion) possibly the best. The update didn’t make Frontiers my new favorite Sonic game, I doubt anything will ever beat Unleashed for me, at least anytime soon, I wouldn’t even say it’s runner up, I’d say that’s still SA2 because of how iconic it is, it was what it wanted to be day one, I prefer the story and maybe even the writing (by just a bit for the latter though), and I could see myself replaying it as much as I have Frontiers, but now thanks to this update, I no longer find it hard to decide whether I like Frontiers or Generations more, Generations still comes extremely close because it’s just as endlessly fun and replayable, it’s more polished, I could even see someone say the gameplay is better and I wouldn’t argue cause I can very much see it (even if I don’t exactly agree), but Frontiers now ticks nearly all the boxes and maybe I prefer it just because it now has a better final boss than Generations, I don’t know, but before they were fighting it out in my mind for 3rd place and now Frontiers has definitely gotten that spot and if Sega and Sonic Team do things right and finally stop running from the past/06 like this update and game as a whole seems to hint at, then I’m hyped for Sonic’s future which feels so good to say because, like what this game may as well have said and this update cemented, from here on out, it’s an endless possibility
Only sonic can release a dlc that is both peak gaming and so bad that it makes me want to ask for a refund for a free dlc. In all seriousness, I think that most people simply got frustrated at the boss rush part of the game and, since it’s one of the last things you play, sour their experience. Weird enough, it was more the older players that got frustrated rather than the young ones. Truly, the next generation is build differently. I give sonic frontiers the number of dictators that the USA put in power in South America out of 10.
I personally feel like the startup animations on the stomps (although might need a lil tweaking, cut some frames here n there) is actually good design, cuz one thing i keep on noticing on sonic playthroughs is that mfs keep on spamming that stomp attack and then falling to their death the startup would help to reacting to situations like that especially when combined with the fact that we have stomp cancelling in this game now (although there probably would be less situations like that if the game had the circle shadow thats supposed to be in every other 3d platformer except for sonic frontiers cuz fuck depth perception ig lol)
This guy gets it, for the casual audience is brutal, but oncce you understand how this game works is wonderful, btw the switch version might not look as good as the others but the fun is still there, now I'm quite interested in what Sonic Team will do next for 3D Sonic, the Spin Dash alone was a huge game changer and the boss battles. If they keep doing this and perfecting it.... only future will tell. PD: Wyvern was my favourite battle in the spectacular side....... now I hate it
True W game after update 3 But I wish they buffed regular superme and give him wings more HP and the unused QTEs but it's what it's Anyway I screamed when sonic did the grand slam on powered supreme Lego zippyy zip zap destroy this feral bitch
I agree with everything you said in this video, a lot of people kinda hated update 3 because of how hard it was and people were saying "skill issue" as a defence to me personally, I LOVED the difficulty of this update but I have 4 complains 1 how jank it looks and feels and some parts 2 that the ending is an alternative ending so people who are playing this game for the first time aren't gonna experience this ending 3 you have to complete the old ending in order to unlock it which would be okay if they fixed some of the issues like Supreme's wings or the fact that you have to collect hearts for Sage (and they didn't change the power of friendship cutscene) 4 ouranos still looks the same Other than that, it's a great wonderful update that I really enjoyed :D PS: the charged wrench attack resets your flight so you can fly infinitely and if you press the "Tips" button in the final boss (I don't remember which one it is) the game will tell you to look at Supreme's back (in which you can see the gun) Sorry for the very long comment, thanks for reading :D
lmao "super duper sonic", anyway I loved this update's ending and enjoyed the insane challenge (though yes it was pretty unjustified and not balanced well). Kellin Quinn returning was SUPER HYPE, some parts of the update wasn't too great (characters) but final boss makes up for it and is super hype.
Extream is exactly like hard, except you die any time you get hit, and you can't change the difficulty. Needless to say I played New Ouranos through to Master King Koco twice before fighting the new boss.
tbh the perfect parry didnt really feel fair to me on trial 5 since it wasn't biuld around that but i think it works great on the final boss since i can see the attacks coming to me much better, i even did it on hard mode.
So, yeah, once again we agree fully on the most important aspects. I'm perfectly fine with fair difficulty. The towers did not frustrate me, even with no checkpoints and no easy mode, were fairly easy to complete because I would spindash off of something, hold parry and look for something to land on. But there's also "artificial difficulty", which Update 3 has SO MUCH OF. Meaning, difficulty where _the game actively fights you_ and tries to make it unfair. For example, the perfect parry challenge. The bosses are telegraphed so incredibly poorly that if you've ever played a game with parrying, you WILL fail, because the parry timing is so unintuitive and flat out wrong at times. Or, Supreme/The End, which DOES NOT tell you what to do, essentially getting you stuck. No difficulty, nothing. It brings up a forgotten game mechanic, makes it obligatory, and gives you 0 hints (unless you exit the boss fight, 100% all 4 characters and then go to Master King Koco to take a hint?? WTF?? You need to give a hint WHEN THE PLAYER IS STUCK, NOT WHEN THEY RAGE QUIT). In a replay, it will be extremely easy since I know what to do - information obstruction, that is the literal definition of artificial difficulty. And, God damn, I still hate the fake physics of this game. The spindash and new "momentum" options were a remedy but it still feels so fake after having played previous Sonic games.
Honestly, I was expecting a crap ton more of stuff like quality of life additions, especially since it was the final update ever, I genuinely thought they wouldve done more to fix the game's technical or mechanical issues, but no, just kinda changed the final act of the game I still like the update, but man, I expected just a little bit more.
As someone who played extreme mode and then had the daunting feeling the fact that I couldn't change the difficulty at the master king trial I replayed the DLC twice in one all because of fucking wyvern Sliknot rave show I couldn't understand what was going on.
if sega confirms that if sonic frontiers is coming to game pass i will be happy for this (yes i had xbox series s) (also the game came out for PS Plus members btw lmao)
Just letting you know you got that cutscene with the giant energy ball because you got hit by one of the smaller ones. If you manage to beat the boss without getting hit, it won't happen.
Really? I can definitely see that but everytime I was under 100 rings the game always killed me, and I looked at other footage and their ring count goes down to 100 after that energy ball cutscene. If what you’re saying is true though that’s a MASSIVE punishment lol
@@oreogod1985 Considering how punishing the rest of the update was, this is definitely meant to be the "It's time to use everything you've learnt" moment.
This game gives me the best high n lows feelings ever and I don't know how else I can explain it I love this game LMAO funnily enough after trying so badly in Hard Mode, I changed it to Normal in the Final Trial and got it first try, however I felt so frustrated with it that I changed back to Hard Mode in the final boss, and genuinely it was still a lot of fun The Parry does feel well design for The End here :D
To Me The Only 3 Guardians That I'd Recommend On Pre Patch Update 3 With The Other 3 Characters Are Ghost+, Master Ninja+ And Spider+ (Or Silver Hammer+ If You A Decent Challenge)
Hard mode parry: 12 frames (according to Unleashed), Extreme mode parry: 4 frames (according to Sonic Overtime), Easy mode parry: 120 frames (on PC). I don't know it for normal.
Amys lightspeed attack was pretty good Still kinda wish these characters gpt cyberspace stuff since only sonic being able to break out is just way too plot-centered around sonic but with knuckles being better and tails getting homing attack Trial 5 is half-baked mechanically and makes for a more frustrating than difficult experience and the towers could have checkpoints and the games still broken with way more popin when flying around to tty and find how to start platforming sections Also wish the extra char combat could be, well, used. Definitely wasnt optimized for the new guardians, thats sonics job Also FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT THE BOSS ATTACKS BEING BAD i thought i was alone in that complaint It took you six boy its probably taking me triple that and giving me second thoughts on an extreme mode playthrough of the story and this update stuff again Still havent got to the final boss Wyvern missiles can also just go through you too sometimes and even trying to see them all is hard because theres so much happening on screen not to mention the camera just has SEIZURES going between chasing and parrying the &-#)@ thing The cyberspace levels are pretty cool with their ideas but it feels way too open, hard to know what an ideal run of these stages are since youre flung all around the place with very few set paths
i knew this video was coming. ngl, i kinda disliked the update at first but came around to liking it. I wish they waited till the 1 year anniversary to release this. It definitely needed some play testing, but it was free, I felt like i wouldve been mad if it was paid dlc
The issue with the startup animations revolve around the pacing screeching to a halt before you begin flying, gliding, etc, which feels very jarring when games like SA1, SA2, Heroes, or 06 didn’t have these startup animations (or at least take a full second or 2) to begin executing their action. Gets quite annoying after a certain period of time.

I'm not gonna lie, Perfect parry on The End was infinitely better. Everything you have to parry is well telegraphed, even his near-instant beam attack on the first cyloop is easy to get good at parrying. The only attack i would say is hard to parry consistently is his 3 swipes. sidenote- i can tell sonic team tried to telegraph the slashes by giving it a wind-up, but they don't seem to understand that for that to be an actual telegraph, he shouldn't swipe at you faster than the wind-up let you anticipate. wind-up gets sets an expectation for the speed of the attack, it shouldn't try to catch you off guard when the camera angle isn't the clearest.
The End would've perfect if it was just a bit better scripted, like for example, taking a second to show you the hole Supreme's back when you can attack it. The problem with changing targets is just that the game doesn't teach you to do that, if it was used more beforehand instead of just in the Knight boss fight ( and you can completely skip learning it then, and even when you do... well, I thought it was some kind of bug all this time, so I never thought to use it in the final boss... ) then I can see it being better. Then the only quirk would be that The End doesn't exactly defend like Knight does, the defending thing is kind of a tell of when to use the dodge button. I dunno how they would've implemented it in a good way. It might be a less common issue but also it's not exactly clear that the purple cord can be interacted with in the first place, I personally thought it was just part of the design of the boss. And of course the biggest issue.... the boss arena. The damn trees. You can't fight if your view is being blocked. Personally I wish the fight took place either in the sky or on the purple moon. In the sky is a bit rough because you lose the 'creepy-crawly' aspect of feral Supreme... I don't know ! I just wish the trees weren't in the way, you could extend the arena to the entirety of Ouranos, I mean, Amy evacuated the koco for what, it the fight is just gonna be contained to one forest arena ? Yes anyway that's my thoughts on it.
@@corruptedteka you’re right about the arena thing. it felt very confined. and the trees were a pisspoor choice. but as for the dodge, i don’t know, it felt like an evolved mechanic they had early on. they taught it on the guarding mini enemies, and it’s not hard to do it accidentally on knight. the only gripe i have is that you have to learn through the game‘s jank that you can only do certain things during certain attacking states. like instant cyloop. or dodge-target switching. but nevertheless i learned it just fine. they could have just put it in the controls menu that LB RB buttons switch targets during combos.

If you do it long enough there’s a glitch where tails no longer does his startup Animation and instead just flys at the height he jumped at
Oh no! Tails has learned how to commit tax evasion from Knuckles! 😨
I agree that perfect parry during the previous titans was absolute BS, BUT, it's actually pretty cool on the Final Boss, because you can actually see the distance between you and the attack at all times, making it WAY easier to get the timing just right, even on hard.
Those trees can burn in hell though!
Did we ask for a nerfed parry before though
@best_mate4565 some did
24:23 THE POINT of this scene IS TO PROVE HOW POWERFUL THE END IS
Also it happens when you get hit by a energy ball in phase 2
10:51 2 months later and they done it
25:38 - Dude, there's a rope that takes you all the way up from the ground.
Fr most people missed that
Yeah but you still have to go ALLLLL the way back to the tower and use the pulley, then talk to him. Like if I’m on the other side of the island it feels dumb they don’t just let me change in a menu, especially since when you ARE on changing characters, it is LIGHTNING fast, wouldn’t be too hard to change I feel like
@@oreogod1985 - OH, now* I see what you mean, yeah, it's annoying that the DLC doesn't have fast travel.
It took me
20
Hours.
Giganto was hard until I realized quick cyloop allows you to do double or triple damage. And I can parry and then run during the phase 2 before he slaps you after you cyloop him.
Wyvern
Oh boy.
The perfect parry wasn’t even designed well for the titans. It only felt good for projectiles.
16:58 I have never related to this so hard.... I FEEL YOUR PAIN...
Platforming in this Update was Top Tier, the Towers were So Fun to Speedrun. Cyberspace was also extremely fun, 4-B is the Best.
Tails went to the Winry Rockbell school of self defense
I just noticed if you pause as Cyber super sonic is flying up towards the end, he looks like fleetway super sonic. He has the rings around his eyes and the sharp teeth and ya know, is about to murder someone. Idk if it was a direct reference but it’s sick either way imo
My ears haved ascend further.... that song THAT SONG is flipping a masterpiece kellin queen forever 23:12
24:20
The cutscene doesn't play "at one point", it triggers when you get hit by an attack in phase 2 for the first time
It still has basically no indication like most of the fight, but it's not random at least
20:00 - When you starts vibing a little too hard.
the best way that i can describe frontiers is that it has high peaks and low valleys, but if you run into a rock just right then you will launch from the lowest valley to the highest peak
Amazing review, I love how you express your opinions with some technical words
21:08 the hard perfect parry actually works here and I played this boss the first time in hard and I only died because of confusion that I didn’t know what to do once I did I speed run this boss easy cake
1:11 why am i laughing so hard at this 💀
Oh hey it's me :) 2:21
That aside, great review man!
Hopefully you'll do one on superstars since that game screams quality
I manage to sneak u into videos every now and then lol
And yeah I think I will make a superstars video, maybe centered on the multiplayer or a straight up review
The wrench bounce refreshes your flight actually
In the situation that you don’t have max rings you can still get infinite height 👍
18:18 it’s ok so many people did this if not to do anything but get through the rest of the story
The ring losing cutscene plays when you get hit during the 2nd phase
Who remembers when we all were hunting for the spindash
Awesome review. My favorite of these updates. Nice job!
Sega needs to start caring about sonic again. They need to get their life together man. It's there creation
16:58 I feel you dude
fun fact
the game DOES tell you to cyloop the gun in its back, sidestep to hit the cord etc
but only if you 100% the entire island for some reason??? your reward for completing the entire island, is battle guidance from master king koco on how to defeat the thing you probably already defeated
what
Yeah I learned that after I recorded this script and was just dumbfounded. Like what kind of logic is that lol
Man it felt like 3 whole decades since your last video
But I'm still happy to get a new video regardless
Yeahhh college has really taken over a lot for me, this video just took so long to make lol
I won’t be able to really pick up the pace too cuz it’s still going😭
@@oreogod1985 I'm fine with waiting long for videos as long as they are good
This game is awesome!
Overall, a masterpiece ✨️
Yeah, I don't mind the reusing of level layouts as the new movement makes it feel different.
@@Tromite well said! Can only hope for the series to grow from here, and we’re tarring to see that growth with shadow gens!

THE LEGEND HIMSELF
After all after all the controversies after all the conversations I just wanted to thank sonic team for not letting this game be a burn out literally a no mans sky plus cyberpunk combined revival
The part where you had to replay the three titans pissed me off like so bad to the point where I accidentally threw my controller but it still works 😂😂😂
you can avoid that minute long cutscene by parrying almost all the energy orbs in the fight even if you're at low stats
is not easy on hard mode
I'm Here Revisited is officially my favorite song ever made
i agree with literally everything you said about the final update
I haven’t been able to play this fully cause the day this update came out I had to go to work immediately after school and close and the day after that my family started our Disney World vacation for Fall Break and I only had an hour to play so I really only got first impressions, and dang the difficulty spike was annoying, seriously, frick that fourth tower, but granted I was playing on hard mode so when I get home and start over Sunday I’m gonna play on easy and hopefully work my way up through future playthroughs (cause like the last near year, I’m probably gonna continue replaying this game to death), but maybe it’s a good thing I learned more about this update and what to do instead of avoiding spoilers cause if I did that then I’d probably have been very frustrated at the final boss, even with my frustrations from the difficulty spike when I first tried it, I’m excited to fully do this, especially that final boss cause just from watching it, it’s easily one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in Sonic history (very much helped by the new version of I’m Here which I’ve just been hooked on since I first heard it)
Edit:Just finished the story on the update finally and yep, that made me love the game even more than before, even on easy there were still some issues like some annoying difficulty (seriously frick that final trial), and Tails, Amy, and Knuckles’ gameplay could’ve been better, mainly in the combat department (which is kinda upsetting and embarrassing for Knuckles especially), but I still had a lot of fun with many things, including the other characters but they definitely have a lot of room for improvement, mainly Knuckles, and that final boss may be my new favorite final boss in any Sonic game and what a redemption for that with Frontiers, this game went from having possibly the worst in the series to (in my opinion) possibly the best.
Wyvern went from easiest to absolute bitch due to perfect parry in hard mode
It’s crazy how he’s the absolute worst in both base game and the dlc and it’s on BOTH sides of the difficulty
I personally feel like the startup animations on the stomps (although might need a lil tweaking, cut some frames here n there) is actually good design, cuz one thing i keep on noticing on sonic playthroughs is that mfs keep on spamming that stomp attack and then falling to their death
the startup would help to reacting to situations like that especially when combined with the fact that we have stomp cancelling in this game now (although there probably would be less situations like that if the game had the circle shadow thats supposed to be in every other 3d platformer except for sonic frontiers cuz fuck depth perception ig lol)
Its oreogodding time
This guy gets it, for the casual audience is brutal, but oncce you understand how this game works is wonderful, btw the switch version might not look as good as the others but the fun is still there, now I'm quite interested in what Sonic Team will do next for 3D Sonic, the Spin Dash alone was a huge game changer and the boss battles. If they keep doing this and perfecting it.... only future will tell.
PD: Wyvern was my favourite battle in the spectacular side....... now I hate it
True W game after update 3
But I wish they buffed regular superme and give him wings more HP and the unused QTEs but it's what it's
Anyway I screamed when sonic did the grand slam on powered supreme Lego zippyy zip zap destroy this feral bitch
I agree with everything you said in this video, a lot of people kinda hated update 3 because of how hard it was and people were saying "skill issue" as a defence
to me personally, I LOVED the difficulty of this update but I have 4 complains
1 how jank it looks and feels and some parts
2 that the ending is an alternative ending so people who are playing this game for the first time aren't gonna experience this ending
3 you have to complete the old ending in order to unlock it which would be okay if they fixed some of the issues like Supreme's wings or the fact that you have to collect hearts for Sage (and they didn't change the power of friendship cutscene)
4 ouranos still looks the same
Other than that, it's a great wonderful update that I really enjoyed :D
PS: the charged wrench attack resets your flight so you can fly infinitely
and if you press the "Tips" button in the final boss (I don't remember which one it is) the game will tell you to look at Supreme's back (in which you can see the gun)
Sorry for the very long comment, thanks for reading :D
lmao "super duper sonic", anyway I loved this update's ending and enjoyed the insane challenge (though yes it was pretty unjustified and not balanced well). Kellin Quinn returning was SUPER HYPE, some parts of the update wasn't too great (characters) but final boss makes up for it and is super hype.
also, seeing that message at 26:16 felt super emotional and impactful for some reason, loved this game
The DLC Final Boss and the DLC cyberspace portals tortured me over and over again. Inconsistent difficulty spikes. 💀
Honestly, I was expecting a crap ton more of stuff like quality of life additions, especially since it was the final update ever, I genuinely thought they wouldve done more to fix the game's technical or mechanical issues, but no, just kinda changed the final act of the game
I still like the update, but man, I expected just a little bit more.
As someone who played extreme mode and then had the daunting feeling the fact that I couldn't change the difficulty at the master king trial I replayed the DLC twice in one all because of fucking wyvern Sliknot rave show I couldn't understand what was going on.
As Agent Stone once said,
''HE'S BAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCKKK!!"
if sega confirms that if sonic frontiers is coming to game pass i will be happy for this (yes i had xbox series s)
(also the game came out for PS Plus members btw lmao)
Just letting you know you got that cutscene with the giant energy ball because you got hit by one of the smaller ones. If you manage to beat the boss without getting hit, it won't happen.
Really? I can definitely see that but everytime I was under 100 rings the game always killed me, and I looked at other footage and their ring count goes down to 100 after that energy ball cutscene. If what you’re saying is true though that’s a MASSIVE punishment lol
@@oreogod1985 Considering how punishing the rest of the update was, this is definitely meant to be the "It's time to use everything you've learnt" moment.
This game gives me the best high n lows feelings ever and I don't know how else I can explain it I love this game LMAO
funnily enough after trying so badly in Hard Mode, I changed it to Normal in the Final Trial and got it first try, however I felt so frustrated with it that I changed back to Hard Mode in the final boss, and genuinely it was still a lot of fun
The Parry does feel well design for The End here :D

Wow my ears had acended
Amys lightspeed attack was pretty good
Still kinda wish these characters gpt cyberspace stuff since only sonic being able to break out is just way too plot-centered around sonic but with knuckles being better and tails getting homing attack
Trial 5 is half-baked mechanically and makes for a more frustrating than difficult experience and the towers could have checkpoints and the games still broken with way more popin when flying around to tty and find how to start platforming sections
Also wish the extra char combat could be, well, used. Definitely wasnt optimized for the new guardians, thats sonics job
Also FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT THE BOSS ATTACKS BEING BAD i thought i was alone in that complaint
It took you six boy its probably taking me triple that and giving me second thoughts on an extreme mode playthrough of the story and this update stuff again
Still havent got to the final boss
Wyvern missiles can also just go through you too sometimes and even trying to see them all is hard because theres so much happening on screen not to mention the camera just has SEIZURES going between chasing and parrying the &-#)@ thing
The cyberspace levels are pretty cool with their ideas but it feels way too open, hard to know what an ideal run of these stages are since youre flung all around the place with very few set paths
Actually, Knuckles glide carries momentum even with the startup. Try it
i knew this video was coming. ngl, i kinda disliked the update at first but came around to liking it. I wish they waited till the 1 year anniversary to release this. It definitely needed some play testing, but it was free, I felt like i wouldve been mad if it was paid dlc
Extreme mode's perfect parry is 4 frames. Probably 2 frames for Switch users.
hey I am at the start and I saw that you play sonic frontiers on swich could you give some tips to spam on the first boss battle plases
Homing attack, and stomp. Easiest way to kill the titans
I wish Sega had updated the game to a Titan Rush.
Thank you for showing the Ghost footage, I had forgotten how to defeat that boss and it ate 800 rings before I gave up
I will NEVER understand the issue with the start up animations, they make the characters feel way more natural
Oh yeah and another thing
No boosting over water?? Why that not in game

Im still recovering from the update lmao
What do you think about the patch that fixed a few things
