Sims 3
With Sims 3 Seasons, Holidays were introduced for each season available. In the fall season, Sims celebrate Spooky Day, that is probably based on Halloween. Also a fall festival will be present in your town, usually in one of the big parks, where you can do activities like: bobbing for apples, you can enter pie eating contests, Your Sim can also visit the Haunted House.
Sims can carve a pumpkin. There are several shapes to choose from. Sims will carve the pumpkin sitting down on the floor. The pumpkin will be placed on a newspaper. After they're finished, Sims can light it, or stomp on it.
Children and teens can go trick or treating, but first change them into one of the costumes available. you can go alone or with someone. If there is someone home, Sims may give the Sim a piece of candy. you can find it in their inventory. Sims can visit up to 10 houses while trick or treating. Children and teens can go trick or treating on Spooky day, or the day before.
Meanspirited, Evil and Inappropriate Sims may throw eggs and vandalize houses during Trick or Treat.
Sims can also throw a costume party or be invited to one by a friend. So your guests will arrive dressed in costumes. A lot of Hot Dogs this year. Unfortunately, your Sim will change automatically and you can't change their costume. Depending on your Seasons, Spooky day often falls on full moon. If you have Supernatural, expect Zombies to roam the streets.
Sims 4
In The Sims 4, there isn't a pre made Halloween/Spooky day holiday. But you can definitely create one. There are seven themes to choose from for a holiday. So you can choose Spooky for a holiday that perfectly fits the theme. And you can have up to five traditions for celebrating the holiday.
With The Sims 4: Spooky Stuff came a carving pumpkin station. and you can carve variety of shapes depending on your handiness skill. After your Sim is finished carving, you can then preserve the pumpkin, light a candle inside, or stomp on them. There are also three spooky inspired meals you can cook.
On Halloween, usually after 5pm, you'll notice more Sims wearing costumes. Kids will come to your door for "trick or treat" wearing costumes. Unlike the Sims 3, you can't go trick or treating. You can then trick them by scaring them, or treat them by giving them candy. After that they'll just disappear. Teenagers can also go treat or treating.
If you put the bowl of candy that came with Sims 4: Spooky Stuff, inside the house, trick or treaters won't knock on your door, but will bolt inside your house and go straight where the candy bowl is, treat themselves and then leave. If you don't want random Sims coming inside your house, you can put the candy bowl outside. Trick or treaters will take candy and leave.
With Spooky Stuff came the option to throw a Spooky Party. You can choose a costume that your Sim will wear at the party. Guests will start arriving dressed in costumes. You'll have the options to talk about costumes, carve pumpkins, you can trick Sims and dance to spooky music

The Sims 4 are good, but The Sims 3 is more crazy and chaotic, which makes them look more alive and fun

You can see how empty the neighborhoods are in Sims 4. It feels so devoid of life.
That’s actually a issue that sims 3 suffered:/ cuz of the open world everyone was always far away

My lots are never empty in the sims 4...did u delete every character lol.my lots were always empty in sims 3.we tens to glorify that game and looking back i find it to be the more monetized game and uglier and more bugs and doest even run now.we literally paid 5 dollars for one item

literally. when i heard "spooky stuff" i was like "yeah so ofc its gonna be so much better" since its a whole pack devoted to it while sims 3 it was only a small portion of one pack, come to find out its objectively worse. u literally cant even go trick or treating w ur own sim???

Fun Tip for Sims 3: If your sim keep viewing the Scarecrow, there has a chance to moving itself and waving to you
This is in every iteration. It's a Sims tradition. Also, for 2-4, as soon as you saw a scarecrow in the advertisement, you knew you had a Seasons EP.

TS3 wins for me because sending my young sims to treat or trick is so cute.
I always have issues trick or treating because families are so rarely home on spooky day! And even when they are home, it takes a long time for them to answer the door.

just commenting to add for anyone who doesn't have TS4 pumpkin carving requires additional DLC on top of seasons, you need the spooky stuff pack 😐 & pumpkin carving is a skill in TS4 so your sim wont have many carving options without cheats or maxing the skill obv. great video though! nothing beats TS3 for me in terms of gameplay & also how well fleshed out packs and expansions used to be.
So basically instead of 1 expansion (sims 3 seasons gives full event) you need to have several dlc for sims 4 for it to be basically "Magically appearing sims to accost only your house for candy, while you cant even go trick or treating".
Everything in sims 4 is a joke.

I miss Sims 3. The amount of detail with everything, from cooking, to clothes and accessories, even the game packs had a lot more love and care put into them and way more variety.
I love Sims 3, but I absolutely HATE the zombies from Supernatural. I have to turn the full moon off in my game to prevent it. I'd rather have the ghosts like Sims 4 than the zombies. That said, for me, Sims 3 is far superior and more addictive in so many ways.

The Sims 3 did Halloween SO MUCH better than The Sims 4. The open world was the perfect setting for this holiday, and I love that you can go trick or treating. The Fall festival was so much fun. And you also didn't need to buy a DLC just to carve punkins.
9:14 A helpful tip: Unless you're purposly trying to kill your sim, make sure the candle inside the pumpkin is extinguished before you have your sim stomp on the pumpkin. Because stomping on the pumpkin while there's a lit candle in it will set your sim on fire.

I like to send my kids around the neighbors in the Sims3 but I also like the decorations in the Sims4, to me they are very different.

Being a sims player since the OG sims, i do appreciate the superior cas n building of sims4, but gameplay is too boring and too child friendly, almost 10 years and still so many missing details and aspects, I won’t touch sims4 again.

I had to download a mod in the Sims 4 just to allow my sims to go out Trick or Treating.
I’ve also been wanting a feature like seasonal festivals to return. Or some way to customize community lots that only loads in particular seasons, for example a pumpkin farm in fall and a Christmas tree lot in winter.

If you put it inside it's easier to trap unsuspecting children and teens.
That's because originally, there was no trick or treating. It was added long time after seasons was released in a patch.
Sims 4 trick or treaters just disappear afterwards? I realize that Sims 4 is not Open world, but couldn't they at least have portals at the end of the block, like even Sims 2 has? And your own sims cannot trick or treat? Why couldn't they code for that? You already can visit other sims houses, right?
Sims 3 is the clear winner here...so much more gameplay content (and all from one EP)❣ Oh, and if that is not enough, the Sims 3 Store does have some Spooky freebies that you can download.

You know, I'mma have to give TS4 credit, since it allows you the freedom to celebrate Halloween or not because not everybody does. I even saw the option for more of a "Fall Harvest" which is great substitute, so I'mma give this one over to TS4!
Tbh the biggest irritant for me with sims 4 Halloween is that so many fucking sims wear the star wars costumes. I didn't ask for all this star wars shit in my game dude

I would say, Sims 3 when it comes to trick or treating because in Sims 4 as yiu said in this video, there isn't a system that lets your sims actualy go trick or treating. Kids kinda can. But Sims 3 does a BETTER job of it cause Sims 3 HAS a system that sims both kids and teens CAN go trick or treating. I had a cuople teens show up for halloween at my dims house for tricks or treats as well as some younger children. That said though
I also DO like BOTH ways you can have your Sims carve pumpkins in Both Sims 3 and Sims 4 as well as being able to throw halloween parties. 🤩👍✌🎃

What I hate the most about the holiday in the sims 4 is that the trick or treaters can wear the costumes from spooky stuff but we can’t unless it’s a costume party. Tired of my kids only being able to dress as a hot dog or yoda.

TIL trick-or-treat never worked for me BECAUSE I bought the bowl of candy??? I always throw a party and decorate for Halloween! I didn't know putting out the candy bowl meant no one would come to the door!! I honestly thought this whole time that the trick-or-treating was just glitched. Wild. Thanks, Sims 4 /s. The spookiest thing about The Sims 4 is the ability of the Sims to teleport when they leave your lot 😂

What I want:
Plleeeaasseee remaster the Sims 2 and add additional features like an open world and Halloween, but only use the original expansions/stuff packs and base game.
Reality:
EA milking off of the same game for 10 years that has like 20 stuff packs and 20 expansion packs. (I didn’t like this game from the beginning).
I will never understand why they don’t want to make the money and just GIVE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT! 😭

I prefer ts3, but i miss the spooky foods and candy bowl from ts4. Also, i dont like throwing parties that much in ts3, because we dont have the pre-get together options like forming a group (yeah, it is kind of possible in ts3, but it works way better in ts4) and making the group to do something party-related
You can install custom recipes, thats what I did there are some spooky recipes for the sims 3 :)

I never played TS3 without nraas mods so I don't know anything besides seasonal events being incredibly active. Neighbors always throw halloween parties or go out together as family/friends to seasonal parks, there's costumes everywhere and always always trick or treating kids coming to my house, bullies egging houses, etc.
@@BanglaBish they do but if you throw a party, the sims just walk away and dont really engage in party activities, if you throw a party in your backyard, you have very hard time making invited sims to even go there

I play the TS3 almost exclusively and I play TS2 here and there. I used to play TS4 cuz it could run on my crappy laptop but after getting a better PC. I just can’t go back. In comparison TS4 is incredibly boring to play, I don’t build so TS4 is pointless for me to play.

Sims 4 halloween sucks. You can't even take your own kids to go get candy, only hand it out and there are so few costumes. You can't even carve pumpkins with just seasons after you already had to PAY for that!

Pumpkin carvings go to sims 3 as you can harvest, plant and buy them from store, also you get a lot of options on what carving you want.
Trick or treating is difficult to decide as sims 3 lets your sim trick or treat and the sims 4 has other sims trick or treat to your place, so i call it a draw on that but its definitely something sims 5 should do if it ever comes out and it would be worth paying for the content.
Its my opinion and i hope EA (not sure if they would though) use both sides of sims 3 and 4 to make sims 5's halloween season better than them.

The bowl is suppose to go outside not inside. In America if we don't want to be in contact with people or are not going to be home we leave out a bowl of candy on the porch. So the bowl was never meant to be placed inside

Sims4 is a pure cashgrab with minimum effort. They gutted sims 3 and sims 2, gave it candy graphics and named it sims 4

I would turn down graphics as much as possible to make the game run smoother. I don't have too much problem with Sims 3. But I don't use CC because i compare the games as they are ❤️
Look for Nraas mods that help with problem solving, in addition to the Lazy Duchess mod.
Even in the first 10 seconds of the video, Sims 3 already won.

I played 1 week sims 2 I got bored then recently I bought sims4 and few dlcs, it's really boring without dlc, only thing it's building that keeps me there, but now I'm like ohh sims 3 ? 😂 sounds interesting thanks for video, at least I might consider give sims 3 an try.
