I feel like people are really undermining how abnormal Gypsy’s case is. Imagine being raised to believe your mother (a human everyone is conditioned from birth to trust unconditionally) is the main family member in your life and that your chronic illnesses (that you believe at least at the beginning are real) are the reason you’re able to live in a nice house and have so many toys. Of course that’s gonna mess you up! That is not a “normal” type of lying like your parents telling you about the tooth fairy. Her mother majorly impacted her quality of life due to her own selfishness. I don’t condone murder but I also can’t blame her, especially if that wasn’t even her first time trying to get away from her mother. Anyone that says they would have done anything different put in the same situation is full of themselves.
