Welcome to Pokemon Crimson and Ivy! This series is going to explore a brand new Pokemon region, created by me, filled with new Pokemon, characters, and more, that will explore the possibilities of what the gen 10 Pokemon games could be like once they are eventually revealed! In this video, I'll be providing a sneak peek by introducing the Starter Pokemon of this new region!

I almost thought you were revealing some leaks regarding Generation 10, but I must say, I'm pretty hyped for this new series once it comes out! I have always enjoyed Pokemon Cardinal and wished there were more videos relating to the series such as the Greek region mentioned in the prologue episode, so I'll definitely be expecting a lot of exciting things when Pokemon Crimson and Ivy has more to show later on! I have a similar idea for a fire snake starter with a similar sounding name which I called Snakindle, but I won't say this probably hasn't happened before and won't judge you for it; I think it will evolve into a cobra upon its final form (mine certainly does). I see the resemblance between Pupperoot and Grass variant Swirlix and I think Pupperoot is a better Grass dog in my opinion (I can imagine it evolving into a bigger, more fluffier version of itself; or a shaved variant that's not exactly a poodle as I can't stand poodle myself). Totrot makes me think of Kelpies, water horse spirits that lead people to their water deaths by letting them ride on their backs and not letting get off until it's too late; of course this water horse probably won't drown you as it's a starter/first partner and therefore a good companion and will prevent you from drowning.
Technically, the “Chinese Zodiac” theory can just be called the “Zodiac” theory since within the Aztec calendar, there is a crocodile that is represented in it.

I like how Pokemon Crimson and Ivy are a call back to Pokemon Red and Green. I like how Pupperoot, Snekindle and Totrot have a pet like theme and animalistic designs it goes back to Gen 1.
Seahorse, Kelpie (a water spirit/fae usually taking the form of a horse), Hippocampus (literally a horse with a fish backside, Poseidon uses a pair to pull his chariot)
I'm guessing that Crimson and Ivy were chosen as a nod to Red and Green, pretty neat detail there.
Pupperoot is definitely my favorite though such a good Boi. 🐕
I'm hoping gen 10 goes the way gen 5 did. Almost soft reboot like. Loved gen 5
Well I hope that gen 10 is a complete reboot to the series introducing 700-1100 brand new Pokémon that were never seen before and have absolutely no returning Pokémon in that generation
It will be a breath of fresh air and a new beginning for the series

... Thats 20 year's worth work. It's not just adding designs, it's about making them story relevant, adding moves, abilities, making them unique, and all having distinct roles. I can't help but think how much of a laugh you're getting after simply trolling us with that one
I hope so to but in a better execution then Black and White did as while gen5 has some of my favourite pokemons there are others that are my least favourite and some that look like they were just made to fill in a role that a gen 1 mon did.

There’s already a popular fan thing called Pokemon Clover, probably wouldn’t want to associate with it/4chan (although Pokemon Clover is a very good rom hack in my opinion, it’s still 4chan at the end of the day)

Your water type horse is actually extremely appropriate. I'm from Virginia and on Chincoteague Island a herd of wild horses swims across the bay frequently throughout the year. Wasn't sure if you knew that, but I thought it was great

Water horse makes TONS of sense… Kelpie mythology!!! Literal water horses. There are even books like Scorpio Races based upon them, and SO many more! It’s such a good and common mythology it’s easy to get inspired
I have to admit, I'm hard pressed to choose a favorite among these starters, especially hearing their inspirations. I'm leaning towards Totrot, though; I love how you gave it fin ears and a fin tail. Knowing these will appear in Histrobea Chronicles as well is especially cool!

Yes this is amazing! Pokemon Cardinal is one of my favorite Fakemon series of all time, probably my favorite of all time to be honest. I cannot wait for this to happen and my starter will be most likely be Pupperoot!

Totrot is secretly the original Pokemon that Keldeo came from. Both are 'water' horses.

I had an water horse and grass dog idea for a Fakemon region I had in the planning stages as well. Well at least you don't have a fire sheep too because that would have been too weird.

I feel that one of the Snekindle's evolutions will be named Pythorch/Pytorch (Python + torch). Also, Hoops showed pics of pythons in the video.

The crocodile may not be part of the _Chinese_ zodiac, but it is still part of the _Haab’ Mayan_ one, so zodiac inspiration for fire starters still stands.

I'm guessing Crimson & Ivy will be a region based on Scotland. Mostly because Totrot makes me think of a kelpie (and other water horses). But then thinking about it further: Pupperoot could be a cu-sith (fairy dog) and Snekindle is a beithir.
The Crown Tundra is already based on Scotland, so maybe Ireland instead
A idea for the early route bug is a bug/normal type spider monkey that has a playful first stage like ash's Aipom, a aggressive second stage like ash's primape and a loyal and dependable third stage like ash's infernape. Referencing 3 of the most well-known monkey in the franchise and crossing of a unused type and a pretty good combo if they get the usual tools the types get.

With Totrot, if I have to venture a guess about its evolution-line, I say it will be either Kelpie-inspired or Hippocampi-inspired... Though the latter is the more specific horse-type creature in all renditions of its myth.

Missed opportunity to do Crimson and Clover
Calling it now, the starter horse will evolve and be named something similar to Tidesdale or Tydesdale as it has to do with the tides of the ocean and a Clydesdale breed of horse.
These starters are fire 🔥 but I need to see their final evolutions before I can pick one

I have mixed feelings about this water starter. But I'll say I like a lot the callbacks to Gen 1. The red and green dual-games and the pet-like starters.
Getting this out of the way, Pupperoot is my favorite of these first stage fakemons. I love dog pokemon and this little guy is too adorable. Definitely looking forward to its full evolution line.
Snekindle looks cute and fun, but I'm kind of hoping it gets more "mean" looking as it evolves. Or who knows? Maybe it can keep that friendly aura and still look badass.
With Totrot I have problems though, just a couple. I love horses, they being one of my most favorite animals since my childhood. They are so strong, athletic, elegant, they always seemed mesmerizing to me. I admit I will be sort of disappointed if as it evolves, turns out looking to much like a seahorse. Especially because Hoops already created a seahorse started in Squirtrot for his video of a possible Gen 9 region inspired in Italy (Before SV came out, obviously) That video is like 2 years old and I'm still hoping for the full evolution lines of Leoke, Brimgoat, and Squirtrot...
For me it's a bit sad that those perfectly Italy inspired fakemon likely will never have full evolution lines, while these three for Crimson and Ivy probably have their evolution lines already planned out or being worked on.
I wish Hoops the best in this project as it is something huge and to be proud of, for sure. Too bad for me Totrot added salt to my injury.

I love Snekindle and that is my definitive pick of starter for your game Crimson/Ivy, can’t wait to see more.
I also hope we get a Water starter Monkey with final evolution Ape form in the future to complete the classic trio of Fire,Water, Grass since we already have Chimchar and Grookey to represent their respective types.
I hope oy will make something like past generations gimmicks and do this in your game too

Still enjoy the loose theory of the Chinese Zodiac, and just waiting for it to be revealed that Pokemon just took liberties with the "Bull" by making a crocodile starter. So super glad it is continued here.

I wonder if the water starter will wind up incorporating kelpie mythos as well since theyre already equine and watery.
I absolutely love the starter designs especially Pupperoot. Though there is one little "issue(?)" I see in Totrot that being that we already have a water type horse with a weapon theme (which I think has been the theme for all the water starters so far) in Keldeo. Not that it is a bad decision though, it could easily be justified as convergent evolution or something along those lines.
My guess for the weapon theme (if it really is the secondary theme of the starter) is either a lance (likely in form of a unicorn) or a bow (likely in form of a centaur).
I would totally go with Pupperoot

With the Chinese Zodiac thing, I like to subscribe to the idea that Espy Juju came up with and that they're all based off Constellations.
A lot of the fire starters were quasi zodiac anyway so i thought it was easy to see the fuecoco as a pseudo snake especially when it evolves
Feucoco is actually the crocodile from the Haab’ Mayan zodiac.
Fuecoco actually revealed the truth behind the fire-starters and how they’re really based on a combination of both zodiacs (as a whole) and the cultures from various nations. Check this out:
Pokémon: Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Tepig, Fenneken, Litten, Scorbunny, Fuecoco
Zodiac: Chinese, Australian, Chinese, Chinese, Chinese, Celtic, Vietnamese, Chinese, Aztec
Culture: Welsh, Japanese, Thailand, Indian, Chinese, American, Mexican, Brazilian, Cajun

@@AlexTheAngel34432 sure, each of the final stages of the starters are inspired by a key aspect of a different country’s culture, for example:
Ex: Blaziken is based on Muay Thai Boxing the national martial art of Thailand.
Ex: Typhlosion is based on a badger-like Yokai that led an army of spirits (this part of its design was built more upon in Legends Arceus)
Ex: Incinderoar is based on El Tigra a lucha libre luchador (masked mexican wrestling) who put the sport on the map. Not only did he popularize the sport, but also became a pop culture icon appearing in tv series, movies, and other forms of media.
These are just three examples.

Here’s a quick list of them:
1.) Charizard (you already know)
2.) Typhlosion (explained already)
3.) Blaziken (explained already)
4.) Infernape
- is based on Lord Hanuman a Hindu god from India that’s described as having the body of a man, tail and face of a monkey, and due to the blessing from the god Agni fire doesn’t harm him. It’s also based on Sun Wukong another monkey god that can wield fire.
5.) Emboar
- Is based on Chinese culture notably the country’s nobility.
6.) Delphox
- Is based on American witch craft primarily from the Wicca culture
7.) Incinaroar (explain already)
8.) Cinderace
- Although seemly based on a generic soccer player the way it falls to its knees after winning a battle and the way it’s fur is placed tell me its design is inspired by Brazilian soccer traditions. Soccer is also Brazil’s national sport.
9.) Skeledirge
- It’s based on the blended culture of New Orleans. The face markings (Mexican), dreadlock-like flames (Jamaican), guitar-shaped body (Spanish), and the firebird on its nose (West African) all come from various cultures. All of which are found in New Orleans.

I love Totrot the water type starter pokemon. We already have a snake pokemon in Snivy the grass type starter pokemon though.
