Octavia wasn’t even open about her sexuality she had a girlfriend I was the first person she came out to we grew up in Brooklyn NY together in the 70s I knew Octavia would transition she so admired the female lifestyle and anatomy she was destined to become Octavia I’m glad that she got to live her life the way she wanted on her terms. I lost touch with Octavia once she moved away but over the years I often wondered how she was but never found out until Facebook was born and I found a mutual friend that grew up with us and she told me she passed my heart was shattered I didn’t get to say goodbye to my childhood bestie. RIP Octavia I will always remember those summers we spent playing outside shine bright like a diamond my friend.
