I agree with your analysis. I went for a shiny white Bluescope Colorbond steel roof set at a 15 degree angle. It came with 5mm of foiled coated foam that was pre-attached to the steel at the factory. It comes with a 30 year anti rust warranty. I have had solar installed on it for three years now with no problems.
