@4:46 the repetition. You get what your audience wants to know. Thank you for this quality review; well done. I’m wondering if the extra 30grams tripod weight and extra 2lbs payload of the Sirui AM-225 is worth getting over this 5C. Thoughts if any?
Your video on the k&f BA225 and the Traveler 5C helped me seal the deal. I just bought a 5C as my first ever tripod, hopefully, it will not be too short and I will regret not buying the 7C. But the folded length of 33 cm is really appealing to me. Edit: and yes, you just gain a new sub
Cheers man, glad I could help. I’ve been using the SIRUI 5C tripod on a daily basis for a couple of months now and I’m really happy with it except the ball head… The ball head on the 5C is crappy..
@@Romafedorov I see that they sell a 5CX, with the B-00 ball head, that might have been a better option. I suspect the normal version will be fine for my small kit, fuji X-T10 and 18-55mm.
@@arvidjohansson3120 Yeah I just saw it now, the B-00 ball head looks much better than the ball head on the original 5C. I used the original 5C ball head for about a week and then I started using a different one, because it was so annoying to use..

Thanks for your review. very useful. I have just ordered it for my travel tripod. Love the weight and folded length specs and your video convinced me to go ahead and order it.
I have this tripod and I use it with the Canon 5d mark iii I don't have any issues with it extended all the way , in the wind . I did upgrade the ballhead to a thubmscrew type. Love this tripod when I'm hiking,
Why would you manually release the shutter using any tripod ?The idea of a tripod is to keep the camera completely still. Even pressing the release button by hand could cause camera movement. I always use a cable or remote release to trigger the self timer so there is absolutely no movement at all. FYI. I have the Sirui ST-124 tripod. Just love it. I am thinking of buying this. Another handy tool in my camera bag. Update (25/10/2024) I got mine yesterday. it is incredibly light, and small, which is the main reason i bought it. It is extremely well engineered. It is NOT the same as my big manfrotto, or my superb Sirui ST - 124, but It is just NOT flimsy. I have a nikon d610 and assortment of lenses. The biggest being my nikkor 16-35. I have played around with all of them on this tripod, and it coped with everyone of them if needs be. When I go out and its not convenient to take and carry my ST-124, I will take that. but if it's not practical, (size and weight) I won't hesitate to take this 5CX instead. Horses for courses. An impressive piece of kit. Recommended. (BTW. I would recommend using a remote release, or the self timer. But i do this with all my tripods anyway. I never use the shutter button manually. )
My first tripod i bought (many years ago) was tiny and flimsy. Made of aluminum, and short. But at a push, it is useable, and can do the job within limits. (I have bigger and much more stable tripods now) With these small light tripods, you have to accept thats what they are. You dont have to keep tapping it to make a point. I never manually press the shutter, i use a cable release or self timer to keep as still as possible. I think you are being disingenuous by keep hitting it.
No you cannot flip the center column upside down for very low shots, but you can remove it and attach the ball head directly on top of the legs which should put the camera very low.
I don't know what is the diameter, but it's pretty similar to the JOBY 3K ballhead in terms of size. I use this tripod with the Ulanzi FALCAM F38 ballhead and it fits like a glove.
Hi ! I want to buy a light weight tripod to take on hike to do astrophotography (with a camera + lense combo of 1,5 kg). Do you think this tripod is a good choice? I'm just wondering if it's stable enough to suit my needs... I would use it without the center column for more stability. Can you give me your opinion? Thanks !
I think it’ll be fine for 1.5KG, my setup is around 1.3KG and it’s pretty stable even with the center column. But I would recommend to do 2 things: 1. Use a different ball head, the ball head that comes with this tripod is crappy.. 2. Attach a backpack or something heavy to the hook at the bottom of the tripod to make it more stable. With that being said I’ve never done astrophotography, so I can’t tell you for certain if it’s good enough for that or no. You might need to take a risk and test it out for yourself..
I'm interested in this tripod, good weight, size and price, can you give a few other alternatives to this tripod? wanna compare a few before making the purchase.
Hi Roma. Thanks for taking time to come out with a good review of this tripod. As much as I wanted to have it due to its folding size & weight, it's the ballhead that's keeping me from buying it. I have the same ballhead installed on my Sirui 3T-35K tabletop tripod and it doesn't have an independent horizontal panning knob (ua-cam.com/video/8ijtZWMOBeo/v-deo.html). If only they sell the 5c legs separately. The 7c seems to be more appealing but I'm wary of its folding size (nearly 19-inches I believe) though certainly more stable and has more height to it.
That is totally true, the ballhead on the 5C is awful. I replaced it after a week.. But it seems like SIRUI is offering the same tripod but with a different ballhead, it’s called the SIRUI 5cx. Here’s a link to it: www.siruishop.de/en/products/780279
@@RomafedorovDefinitely the B-00K should be better. Though another thing to consider about the 5c is its center column since two connected sections would render it less stable when extended to full height. Also, the 5cx maybe similar to this: ua-cam.com/video/XUxv2NUydpE/v-deo.html -- The Sirui T-025SK as it also comes with the B-00K ballhead.
Really glad I found your video. Very detailed and concise. Answered all the questions I had, and I’m sure many others. Well done man.

Hi Roma, can the hook be changed to another kind? The dangly hook does not look very stable if i were to hang a weight there?
Nice review, thank you!
Great review
Thanks man great help!
how stable is it? Can you try it for long exposures such as for water shots, night shots and astro and let us know how the stability does?
Can you keep the tripod half way? Or should it be fully open legs?
of course you can keep the tripod half way, that's why you have 4 twist locks..
