*Nice reel so far **enjoyable.fishing** recommend used it for about an hour after getting it from Amazon and functioned flawlessly. Very smooth retrieve and the anti reverse is perfect. Feels like a reel that would be double the price.*
Thanks for the help! I went fishing for the first time alone today and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. This cleared that up and I am excited to try again
Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.
Just getting back into fishing after a while. Bought all new gear for some trout fishing here in Eastern PA. Your videos are great for those of us needing a good refresher and for the newbies! Excellent job.
Used to fish a lot when I was little with my dad, I recently just got back into it, he’s been gone for 10 years but I still have his spinning rods. I totally forgot how to cast them 😂 going to take a couple out tonight & hopefully I get lucky
Thank you so much, I did know everything but the first tip about which rod to use and the last tip about how you should manually close it after casting. Thank you again for the great video.
Thank you sir! I went out for the first time this morning w/o watching any videos….I could literally hear the fish laughing ha. Giving it another shot tomorrow!
Love videos that tell us exactly what we are looking for! No life story and long cute intro music. Just straight tips and facts! Great video. Looked like a pro to my two sons the other day! Thanks!
Thank you for your videos. I have watched a few of your videos. I am just learning to fish my 8 year old loves to fish. thanks again for the easy to follow tips and helping me on my path to the coolest mom ever.
Hey Erin Im glad it helped! If you ever need anything you can email me direct at aaron@andersfishing.com ... I own WOO! I'm so grateful for other doing that for me. Thanks and hope to talk soon! Aaron -
Iloveyou Dude! First you save my life in putting a line on a spinning reel, now for properly casting.. you got my respect and just subscribed :) I am so ready for my first fishing... Peace!
A goofy movie taught me “the perfect cast” but yeah I definitely watched the other video on how to put line on my reel. Super Informative yet to the point. Subscribed! Cheers!
I know this is an old video, but I have been fishing off and on for 40 years. I could never figure out why I kept getting knots in my line...lol! You can teach a old dog new tricks. Hope life is treating you well. Take care and thank you.
This is amazing. I'm a new fisherwoman, and I've been dealing with a lot of tangling and nonsense from my new reel. Hopefully I'll avoid tangles and such in the future.
thanks so much i have wanting to go fishing a lot this year i just have to wait until the snow melts my dad we be impressed i have not been fishing since i had a button fishing rod thanks again
Thanks sooo much I've been looking at other videos and you the only one showed to turn the reel and line up the fishing line and flip the bail ...thanks
Simple video but great tips! I almost always close the bail by reeling....correction, I used to! After watching this video I now understand why I end up with line issues! Will be closing bail by hand from now on! Thanks!
Reeling your lure in all the way to the rod tip may also damage your top guide as well. Manually closing the bail also eliminates wear on your internal gears over time.
Shifting the rod from right hand after casting is a question for me.... it misses a lot of oppurtunities in the waters... if you’re a right handed the reel’s crank/handle should be at your left hand...so no need to shift from right hand casting to the left hand and start reeling in...
Leroy The Hooker try doing tje right way, it takes only short time to adjust, what you need to do first is to fix the reel handle, almost all reels can be used as/either way lefty or righty.... call it lefty when the handle is on the left hand side, ang righty on the right side. Tightlines bro!
I just found your channel. I just finished watching the how to put line on your spinner reel. I love your channel so far. Can't wait for new stuff bud!
bought my rod, after countless hours of many emotions i got it set up correctly but didn’t know how to cast, eventually gave up after i tangled all my reel up, hopefully i’ll go out again tomorrow taking your tips in
I think this might be really helpful. Every video I've watched about spooling the line has given me the impression that I need to hold the line between my fingers when reeling in, but I don't see you doing that. Do I not need to do it?, it would sure be a lot easier if I didn't have to, very awkward trying to hold the rod and the line at the same time with one hand while reeling with the other.
Only during the initial spelling of the reel do you need to hold it between your fingers. After that the tension of the lure if enough, no need to hold it as you reel it in! Thanks for taking the time to watch :)
Nice video. Thanks for the concise instruction. When I grab the fishing line with my finger and open the bail, the line begins to unspool on its own before I cast. Sometimes I can cast and it's all good. However too often, I end up with a big knotted mess so I end up wasting line/time & hating my fishing experience. How do I prevent this? Am I doing something wrong when I reel in? Do I have the wrong monofiliment? Do I have too much line on the spool? Was my spool loaded incorrectly by the store?
Your finger should never touch the string. The bail (as you mentioned it) is down when you open it. Your finger should be touching the edge of the spool to keep it from moving. You release your finger from the spool to control line feed, put you finger back on the spool to stop line feed, very similar to a bait casting reel. Your finger should never touch the line. Try this I think you will like it.
This is so helpful I'm casting my rod the wrong way hahahaha that's why it always tangle Hahahahahahah tyyy brooo And super excited for fishing againnn hahahaha
Thanks man, I was wondering and frustrated because the line keeps falling when I flip the beil turns out I hold the rod to far, I know it's common sense and I was laughing in myself.
I want to cast 100 yards. My existing 7 foot hollow fiberglass can't do that.I am afraid of putting something more than a half inch round lead as it might break the rod.Any tips for a new rod? What about an 11 footer?
Uhhh I’m so mad right now I have line put on correctly casting correctly but when I cast or try to reel on line go everywhere under the reel and stuff sometimes it goes clean but rarely
Nice vid. Im just taking up fishing in my 50s. Think i got a decent spinning reel. When I cast im getting tangles and very little distance. Ive only tried casting a few times to practice. Im using a couple spit shots so i think my weight is adequate. Not sure if maybe i need a different type of line or maybe just more practice. I would appreciate any advise.
Made me look like a hero in front on my daughter. Thanks a million!
Same here with my son!

Nice simple straight to the point video.
Nice simple vid! Personally I cast with one hand but since I play lots of tennis it's a natural movement and I can deliver a lot of strength.

Hope not a stupid question….. do you flip the bell over after the bait hits the water or before to avoid backlash? Ty.

Is there any way to know the lure weight range?

When you cast do you wait until your lure hits the water to close the bale?
