I loved this machine. This was way back when skid plates were just coming out but I tried one and I couldn’t count on my perfect lines so took it off and gave it away. I’m very particular about my lawns. And this beast makes beautiful lines! I’m glad you like it but if you can’t find much use, hit me up I’ll take it off ur hands for the right price. 😉
You could plan a day ahead you should know your route if your going to need the 32 then load that last so you will be ready. I have a gravely 34 used it for years but bought a 32 hydro to wright last year. Man what a beast money well spent so much faster than the belt drive gravely. Like you I'm now looking at a 42 but a stander. The girls broke the 200 mark on lawns this year so need wider cut to save more time. I'm sure you know all about that good luck with your next toy.
+grasscutter88 No way, not with the weight of this unit. I can do tricep dips on this thing and the deck stays on the ground. As far as with a 36 inch??? Good question. I don't know.
You know this is meant for larger jobs like commercial, right? Or hit the mainland w this then weedeat the small Places and use ur regular standup for smaller yards/spaces. The zero turn is amazing but also meant for increasing production for larger yards. I used this same mower and what the trailbehind-tractor mower wasn’t for, I used this and for regular small lawns we used 32” and done.
I'm thinking of getting a 36'' hydro walk behind to use with my gravely 34 compact pro so I can use it when the yards are wet from the rain. Also to use it on uneven yards. At least I could fit both of them on the trailer side by side so there is no switching. The problem with the zero turn is it's just too heavy after it's been raining. I've heard the walk behinds are much easier on turf and don't rut when it's wet.
+grasscutter88 That has a lot to do with tire size and weight. Walk behinds are heavy. You will want to have the widest tires possible to disperse the weight without cutting into the ground with thin tires.
+Trimmers Enterprises, LLC I went and looked at a wh36a john deere yesterday. I liked it and had 6.5 wide drive tires. What do you think? That's pretty wide compared to most hydro units, but is that stupid to have two mowers the same size? The problem with my gravely compact pro is I'm stuck using the 21'' for a day or so before things dry up enough. I'd go with a 30'' time master but I hear it clumps when it's wet and doesn't have enough power. I've demoed a few walk behinds and they doesn't seem to rut and push the grass down like the riders do. I don't think the walk behind will be as quick at the zero turn, but it's better than sitting at home.
grasscutter88 That is a hard question for me to answer. You seem to make great points about getting it but I promise you this... once you get used to the 36 hydro walk behind, you will be selling the Zero turn. Hands down will be far better, you will just need a 2 wheel velke and you will have way more production than the 34 inch ztr.
+Trimmers Enterprises, LLC I can see myself busting my ass with a velke. lol. Don't get me wrong I'm happy with the gravely. I can use it on every yard except for like three yards and I don't even think a walk behind would fit in those yards for the most part. I cut my mowing time in half compared to the 21''. I can do the mowing portion of each of my yards in 10-12 minutes now. Honestly I'm hoping the rutting problems are just cause the yards are dormant. Most of the yards I just mow them this time of year to pickup the leaves. I still think a 36'' walk behind would be good just for a second mower. I used to do 30 yards in 3 days with my 21'' exmark and my knees were killing me after doing every day.
+grasscutter88 It was time to sell the old girl. She did me well, but was time to help another lawn guy. I want to roll with just one large mower and a small push mower for back yards with small gates.
Miss it at all? Was wondering, considering you've come full circle to the walk-behind platform again. I am currently considering a Husqvarna W548 for my bigger yards where my 21" is a pain ...seems very similar to this one.
@@DansVlog Gotcha. Thanks for the input man. Based on my dealer situation I'll either have to go with the similar Husky 18.5hp walk-behind with a 48" deck (smallest hydro), or a Wright Stander I with a 36" deck (20hp I think). We have a lot of crappy/bumpy yards and I thought the walk-behind would be better on the body, but I'm glad you raised the power issue. I'll have to think it over and see how best to move fwd. Either way, 21" decks on 0.5+ acres is no bueno, so I'll have to figure something out eventually. Decisions, decisions!
Jonathan Benoit well as long as you understand John Deere is made by the same company that makes Craftsman, Scags, Lesco and many other names. Same mowers... different paint scheme
So you think using two mowers is a waste of time then, since the time you save is wasted by playing musical mowers? I kind of think my 34'' gravely is a little small, but I can do front and back of just about all my houses, and my biggest can be mowed in 13 minutes. Most only take 10-12 minutes. I think I'll get a 48'' walk behind for the couple yards I can mow front and back and also use it for when I get some commercial properties.
A Waste of time? Not really. depends on the property and the amount of back yards with small gates. for me 2 mowers is mostly not worth it all and would just be an added expense
+Trimmers Enterprises, LLC I want something that can be used on steep slopes, which almost every commercial property has. After watching your video it sounds like unless you can use one mower on the entire property then it just ends up being a hassle. Every one except for maybe three properties has a 48'' gate for me to get into, so other than on big yards it sounds like a hassle.
what if you used a trailer with a side ramp for the 32 and a main ramp at the back for the larger one? (this is how i want to setup my trailer i'm going to build the ramps myself.)
grasscutter88 you can have both 4ft sides and a side ramp? i use my trailer for cleanups and the whole right side has been built to be removable and swapable for the ramp i plan on building, also when the ramp is installed it will still have a 4ft side that the ramp will fit into.
As the Gravely and JD are the same identical mower...who makes them for who? I asked my Gravely dealer and they denied that my claim was true. But side by side the machines are bolt for bolt identical.
John Deere makes them for gravely and husqvarna now. Husqvarna just came out with these exact machines but now gravely is moving away from them. As for who made who, this mower is almost identical to a 2007 lesco hydro walk behind you can look it up. As we know John Deere bought lesco so John Deere has been slightly modifying and milking lescos mower for years. Also everride wasp mfg got in on this as well back in the early 2000’s. That is everything to know about these mowers I own a wh36a and did hella research
Do you have any problems with rutting with this mower? It weighs like 707 pounds looking at the specs if I remember right. I don't see many floating decks in my area. Sorry I know I've bugged you to death about this mower. lol
Dan's Vlog Unless it does all the work up a hill or on a uneven backyard, that thing looks like a pain to handle. Maybe not, since it is about $5,000 and runs itself. Looks well made and like it would never tear up though.

Dan's Vlog Any recommendations on a backyard push mower, like for a hilly yard and around $200-250? My dad does not want to pay even $300 for a backyard hilly lawn push mower.

I just got my first commercial mower john deere wg36a today used for $1300 and 113 hours so pretty happy
Heck Ya Ed. I thiink that is a Walk behind - belt drive 36 inch deck right? You can crush lawns with a walk behind. Would be my choice as well
Somone is selling one of these in a 48 inch size should i buy it ? 🤔
In your videos last season that thing was an a true beast , hopefully you get the properties that you can keep it and still use it
I've always wanted to demo one of those because they look funny...looks like they cut nice too
+Meier Lawn Care They are nice mowers. I would recommend a velke. It is like using a Stander
Just bought the WH61A. Hoping I will like it just as much as you liked yours
You will!!
How do you like the controls on this unit Vs the pistol grip style on the exmark?
Southern Style Lawn Care I like them equally.
Can you lift up the front end with those controls like you can with a pistol grip? So you can go up curbs and such?
+grasscutter88 No way, not with the weight of this unit. I can do tricep dips on this thing and the deck stays on the ground. As far as with a 36 inch??? Good question. I don't know.
With this mower you can do large properties fast
Yes, and when I bought this mower for $2000, it came with a two wheel velke
@@DansVlog Damn, you only paid 2k for it?

love the mower, keep on making videos.

This model JD is just like a stander but it has more reach to get under trees and stuff. This JD was underpowered but it worked ok
@@DansVlog Underpowered in terms of sulky use, or getting through tall/thick/wet mowing? I'd hate to drop that kinda cash to be underwhelmed lol
Engine too small for 52 inch deck and running dual hydro pumps. I think it was an 18HP which is actually what my much smaller 36 inch came with.

what kind of 32 inch you use?
John Deere Mowers#1
Jonathan Benoit well as long as you understand John Deere is made by the same company that makes Craftsman, Scags, Lesco and many other names. Same mowers... different paint scheme
Of course I know, I'm a small engine repair man,
I've been working on small engines for 30 years+. But I don't know it all, it's room for more. Some new ever day.
How do you put your hydrolics on mine I can't put back in gear must be missing something
Make sure the dump valves located by each rear wheel is closed. If you can move the mower with the engine off, the valves are open. Close them
Can you get a sulky for this mower?
Yes you can use a sulky and you can use a Velke

They don't make any with tandem axles unless you get a 16' trailer and that's too long. I won't have a place to park.
grasscutter88 you can have both 4ft sides and a side ramp? i use my trailer for cleanups and the whole right side has been built to be removable and swapable for the ramp i plan on building, also when the ramp is installed it will still have a 4ft side that the ramp will fit into.
Do you recommend the John Deere mower.
Most definitely. This machine is awesome. Just a bit too big for my accounts
We are running a 60in zero turn. And my son want to help with me so I think that a 52in mower would work for him.
+D and C Lawn Care It is a beast. It is weird to operate due to the paddle style controls unless you are on a Velke
We had a exmark 48in turf tracer. And he could not get the controls.
I miss seeing it in action!
+John Lincicum I named her Hoss for a reason... This thing is a big 'ol pig

+grasscutter88 Believe it or not, gravely makes this mower for john deere.
+grasscutter88 It wasn't a rutting issue but ya, due to it's weight, it would tend to want to sink in on wet stuff but the wide tires made it ok.
Do you still have the JD?
No. sold it a few weeks ago
Self propelled is fine until you get onto a hillside. That thing looks like a pain to push on hillsides.

Dan's Vlog You are close in price. Husqvarna is around 299 before tax.
Yes belt driven
I made $400 a day easy with a 32 inch belt driven walk behind. You got good things in your future
That engine is#1 next to Honda.#1
Sweet!
You should of kept this mower
I would of if I needed it
Thanks im trying lol
IS THAT YOUR LAWN ?😯
I think it is. But it is seasonal and this was winter... so it will be dead/dormant

that does not look like briggs engine
railfreak99 super small and underpowered
Mower is very slow
Ummm ok
