Queens Gambit masterclass after Kings Indian? I’d love to see you cover it. Regardless, Im so glad i came across your channel and I’m on my way to watch all your videos! Amazing content
Wow, just wow. I have been studying this since the pandemic and you really clarified something’s I was confused about. You really have a talent for explaining and exploring each move in a logical and succinct manner. May we have some more Sir? I would love to see you do the Catalan!!!
@@ChessGeek1 hi, thx for the great work you've done it realy help :) that being said i had a question about a position a often had, (by often i mean 70% of the time at my elo range) the position for me as black is the same than at 1:56 but for white they have the e4 pawn in e3 instead, wich mean i cant push in e5 or i end up being down a pawn after the exange variation (since i have nothing to recapture ine4 at the end of it), and i'm not sur what to do here, i've try to push in C5 instead (sometime i do it at this oment sometime i take the time to bring a knight to d2) but it usualy dont goes well (mainly cause i have no clue what i'm doing ahah) i'm just around 1000elo so i'm bad at improvising when i got in a situation have no plan for T_T
This course is insanely well explained and simple to understand. As a begginer i feel like i gained +100 rating just by watching it haha what a great job!
Thank you. Its been impossible to find a video on this opening for a beginner like me. Every video is similar to this one. After the first few moves of the opening, about 10 different variations of the next 2 moves are explained. Keeping me very confused and lost as to the idea. I wish I could find a video that can stay on track with one variation shown multiple times. I think once people get good at chess, it’s very hard for them to not see all of the alternatives at once. But that is very confusing for a beginner.
I really appreciate it, but not at the moment. Money is certainly not a motivator for this channel currently, but possibly in the future I will implement something like this. Nonetheless, I really appreciate your interest and support :)
@@ChessGeek1 thanks for replying, I am still getting the same error.I am using Chessis app to open the file but i am able to open pgn from bayonet variation
Incredible stuff. I was familiar with hikaru’s games vs. So & Gelfand but now I have a much better idea of how to actually navigate the kingside attack, since best defense is rarely seen at my lowly 1100 elo lol. Thanks. Great job with this
As a 1800 player who has poor opening knowledge, this material is really helpfull. Not only is it structured clearly but also main ideas are all illustrated and explained easily. I hope I will stop being frustrated in tournaments by players who do not necessarily have better strategical or tactical skills but just get out of their king indian opening with clear advantage. Many thanks.
Excellent stuff. I do feel you go through the game parts too quickly however; just a little slower would be helpful. I would add, Black's light squared bishop is actually a very important piece in attacking the white king and you wouldn't trade it willy nilly. This generliases to ALL these positions.
would you recommend the kings indian for 1400? whenever i play it people play crazy weird stuff where i have no prep could you give a few tips for when they completely deviate from theory?
Understanding the ideas of your openings, ie optimal piece layouts for both sides, like knights on f6 and g6, rook on g7, bishop on f8 or h6 for black and bishop on e3 and knight on d2 for white, and strategies, like the g4 break for black and c5 break for white should help a lot so that you can know what to play for without thinking about it during the game. Against most weird stuff that isn't Nf3 and Be2, you should be going for a benoni structure, so you should the ideas there too. Chesscoach Andres has good videos on such ideas. Learning the mainline KID can be a lot as an intermediate, but it's worth it if you want a sharp game against d4 and most lower level d4 players feel uncomfortable facing the KID in my experience
As the mate said above is worth knowing the main ideas so you can punish your enemies if they deviate. I have a very similar problem with the sicilian as an amateur, 80% deviate on move 2 or 3. As i know the main ideas of my sicilian choice i can punish them anyways following my plan and winning most of my games
Similar to the previous responses: You can still play the KID as a 1400 for sure. Will you get as much from the theory itself, no, for the reason you said - the opponents don't play into the mainline/best stuff. That being said, I think it is still good to study theory if you can, as it still gives you a solid starting point. And when the opponent deviates, you have more knowledge under your toolbelt to deal with diff variations. THe KID, very much being a setup-based opening, also means that the ideas are very similar in a lot of positions (going for e5 & f5 expansion, or going for c5 & a6-b5 + e6 expansion - as I will show time and time again in this masterclass). So its your choice, but overall studying mainline def. can help tackle sidelines.
Looks like my first comment didn’t go through, but it’s all of them, I go to the pgns on the website, download them, and copy them but when I go to paste it’s nothing in my clipboard to paste, and if I go to copy the link instead of downloading, it doesn’t recognise it as a pgn

Thank you so much! That is relly great to hear :)
Thank you for this series. Just what I needed. I can see the amount of time and effort you put into these. I am now working my way through them.
Wonderful, hope you find value in this series!
I just have to srs thank you so much. I use the kings Indian as my main black opening and with your videos, it will help me on my chess journey:D
Great to hear that -- good luck on your journey!
Thank you so much!^^@@ChessGeek1
Fabioulous. Ideas behind the moves are clearly explained, and better than the majority of expensive courses, even those given by well knowed GM!
Thank you so much!!!
I‘ll say it time and time again. You rock!
Thank you so much, you do too!
As a Kings Indian defence player I thank you
My pleasure :)
The amount of detail an explanation is classy. Thank you so much

Hmm yeah -- Perhaps re-watching the video can help cement the lines, or going through the PGN of the variations on lichess or chess.com
After this can we have london system thx for the video
Done ✅
Watching next one tommorow:😊
Great :) Enjoy!
Great video!
Thanks a lot!
1500s and below don't need it just try the opening. Know basic ideas. And know how to make improving moves and attack. And also not blunder.
Yes, lower-rated usually do not need to know openings as much!
It never hurts to know some theory

thanks for all your brillant courses

It a great effort keep it up ❤
I appreciate it! ❤️
Pgn is not working
What device are you using? When you press the link, what happens? It should download directly to the computer/phone
Like this same for Kings Indian Attack for white???
KIA is very similar to KID. But there are some differences.

Pgns are not working please fix it btw great work 🙌👏👏
Are all chapters not working for you? For me it seems to work. You press the link, and then wait a second, and then it downloads automatically.

Chaper 1 PGN not able to download. Can someone help?

Hmm, strange. Do the other chapters work? And perhaps try opening it on chess.com analysis board, maybe that will work?@@Hrishi4081
Awesome job of explaining a tough opening!!!
Thanks!
1:42 Why do we assume white DEFINITELY play bishop to e3? Bishop to f4 looks like a good option and less passive.
Because it solidifies the d4 pawn, and playing Bf4 runs right into the e5 breakthrough from black.
your good but explin slowly
Finally an understandable explanation thank you 😊
Good to hear this is helpful, thank you
How to play the KID against the London & Stonewall please tell
I love all the theory but at 500 sloppy opponents always play wild and never as the opponents up higher play.
Amazing video. Thanks.

This is almost perfect. Well done. Of course you realize that you are going over the variations way way too fast. No one can possibly follow along.
Good feedback. There is just so much theory I want to pack into one video, but I will slow down in the future.
thank you young man.
