Your mileage may vary, but Chuck's absolute honesty about how he hates certain aspects of the show (Jan's clues, the Summer Sweepstakes, etc.) is a highlight for me. The writers and producers tweaking Chuck regularly, as well as Chuck's less-than-professional reactions, are mostly hilarious.
You can say whatever you want up there; hitting the buzzer makes it legally clear that you are attempting to guess the word. Although there have been times that something sounds like a guess and has been ruled as such, despite not hitting the buzzer....

A technical problem had a crossword edited from the show...does this mean someone's going to get to come back? (Also, good god that was one of the easiest Bonus Sprint words. Fortunate to have something like that after the first one!)

I remember when Chuck did WOF, he hated most of the prizes. He would make fun of them at times (You're getting a ceramic pig?)
I hated his comments.

This show better than any family feud episode since 1999.
Them hitting the buzzer to guess a word in the main Crossword is probably a holdover from the ill-fated Spelling format.
