I have allergy on some metals, I don't usually were them on my skins & as earrings, It rather painful & itchy if I wear them, I believe is a genetic trait. She probably just misspoke. There is only 22 and 18 kt gold selling there. Price was different from the beginning. And on my opinion she was taken advantage of, because she is a woman and from different culture.

When you buy jewelry at jewelry stores in the states, they charge the same way as the shops in Dubai. The gold is priced per gram. I have gold we bought from a shop in Chicago like that. In fact if I ever get a chance to go to the Middle Eastern jewelry shops in Chicago I'm going to buy a gold chain, maybe something else.
The most affordable way to acquire gold is to buy simple bars or coins from your local mom-and-pop coin shop. If you want a heavy necklace, or other "jewelry" from an Arab importer, you're going to be paying a large markup for manufacturing, import duties, etc, etc.
@@gregoryschmidt1233 yes, but even the local mom and pop stores charge by weight. We're Middle Eastern, we've bought from the local Middle Eastern jewelry shops back in the day (when we lived in the neighborhoods as them, although we didn't buy tons). I have bought from Penny's and Lord and Taylor, but I much prefer to shop at an actual jewelry store. Aside fro the nice cross I bought from Lord and Taylor, the local shops have higher quality gold than you find at other places.

It makes sense to charge by weight and makes shopping easier but it sounds like they have flat 30% labor cost? I would think it made sense to charge for labor based on intricacy of the designs

So that bracelet 10 G was a third for gold 2/3 for work at 24 gold today is 23 100 a Oz
Market price they are referring is spot price by 1 troy ounce = 31.1 grams, but this is in pure gold. 22K is not pure gold only 22 parts are gold out of 24 parts. they profit from 2 parts out of 24 and mark up for production, but still better then others in pricing.
