He wanted it that way. He never gave much about appearance. He was more punk than punks in his youth. Beer, and leisure time. He once stated in an interview that he also never was much motivated to go to a regular work, (even though he did finish something regular), so he put all his effort into his music career (he also liked soccer, and had a dream to become a soccer professional). He's probably also a natural introvert type, more the thinker type, less the rock star type.

Bright Eyes was the first BG's song that I heard and yet is my favorite. I remember on my first BG concert in Sao Paulo 1998 that we really shout asking this music but they didn´t play it. The next show I've been was in 2002 also and Sao Paulo, on Hansi's birthday. At one point Hansi says that we´ve asked for the next song in their last concert and they would play it. That night in 2002 was so magic, not just because of this. There were so much good thinks happening, so many stories to be told.

LUCKY! I wish I had discovered them before COVID, because I have to wait a year at the absolute minimum to see them live. (how I wish it was safe to fly, because Id be in Germany in a heartbeat.)
Uma das minhas preferidas também, André. Bem, sou suspeito pra falar, pois não sou fã nem conheço e acompanho a banda, mas essa e a Mirror Mirror foram as primeiras que ouvi, e até hoje gosto muito.
Essa música é a minha favorita do BG! Pude ver o show deles em 2015, em Belo Horizonte, e foi um dos melhores shows que já vi na vida

Hansi's voice is really amazing in this video!! Love that in the "Creaaaaaaaaaate" scream he didn't spare himself and gave us the old good yell he did in the old days. One observation only......through the years he became more static on stage. I understand that that's the cost for having a good voice performance but the truth is he seems too....... elegant!! Love him though 🤘
He yells in that old way in "Who really cares" and "No one left to hurt" too.
Static ? LOL, I think it is the opposite! I saw them live back in 1998, I remember it was a shock see him on stagee as he didn't move at all from the mic stand... nowadays he walks a little bit at least :-D

This band has such a unique and strong atmosphere. It's hard enough to write a good song, these guys regularly reconfigure the world around you with their music. You can do so much more than just listen to this band, it's an experience for the mind.

@@AdrianoLMotta each album after these has a special atmosphere to it, but they are all very enjoyable. Here are some of my personal favorites :
- A night at the opera: the mixing is a bit weird, but there are some great songs. My 3 favorites: Battlefield, the maiden and the minstrel Knight, and then there was silence
- A twist in the myth: more direct, more melodic and maybe less epic songs. My 3 favs: Fly, Lionheart, Turn the page
- At the edge of time: my personal favorite. All the songs are good really. My 3 favs : Sacred Worlds, Wheel of time, Curse my name (but there ain’t any bad song on this one, trust me)
Beyond the red mirror: very symphonic album, not the most inspired in my opinion, but some gems are still there, and the quality of the composition is very strong: Twilight of the gods, At the edge of time, The throne.
That’s my personal opinion about this wonderful band. If you don’t like the songs, listen to them more than just 1 time, because they are progressive and some songs might take time to grow on you.

Man, I'm still flabbergasted when the songs deviate from the original. Not that the new versions are bad, but I listened to Imaginations so much that those versions are burned in my brain. I also don't think ill of Hansi for making it easier for him in concert.

No, you are not the only one ;) . One of the best things that could happen to germanys metal-scene was blind guardian. In an article about the German heavy metal scene, someone once wrote that Blind Guardian made German metal salon-worthy. I think, he is still right^^

What a shame such dead audience. This is one of the best BG songs ever and they barely raise their hands... LED lighting is also quite awful. But, all in all it is a great rendition of an amazing song (and album)
