THIS is the spectacle Demons and Wizards deserve! Hansi has NEVER sounded more powerful than this performance. The playing was absolutely superb by everyone involved. Those arpeggios in Fiddler are almost a song unto themselves.
The way he goes from his screams to soft singing in Fiddler is just jaw-dropping. It's almost like he's getting better with age, which with this range is almost ridiculous.
His vocals have definitely been getting better and better with each new BG and D&W album. Its has been really exciting to hear his newer recordings for me, and I am so looking forwars to III and next year's new BG!
I was excited about Legacy before it came out, but when it did, oh man, I did not expect the uniqueness of the high level musicianship. This guy is on a roll, and I really hope (and expect) he keeps it going. Looking forward to new D&W and next year's BG!

Honestly Blind Guardian needs to bring this vocal group on tour so they can do more songs that Hansi just can't do alone. But goddamn, the energy here. You can *tell* the time is right for Demons & Wizards to be back, like you can feel the energy and passion Jon and Hansi both have, wanting to be there performing like this. They haven't looked this proud to be performing music live with their own respective bands in close to a decade.
Damn Hansi is such an amazing vocalist! He often has to take care of his voice anf step back a little from the hard screams, but he obviously poured all his heart into this performance!
Fidder is my favorite song, and I love Crimson King very much too ))) DEMONS & WIZARDS is just best metal band with best vocalist in the world! Their music stole up to my heart most close
Salute to those boys Hansi and Schaffer!! They still rock SO DAMN HARD after so many years. They put 99% of today's popular radio "music" to shame EASY.
It was one of the most incredible moments ever. We went to Germany pretty much JUST for this set (also the Wacken Promised Land etc.), and it was unforgettable.
I know two of them are vocalists for Ayreon. Marcella Bovio is one, and John Jaycee Cuijpers is the other. I don't recognize the other two vocalists. The keyboardist, might be a LUL too (Joost van den Broek, also from Ayreon).
I love Hansi's voice, it's powerful, it reminds me of Imaginations from the other side years. I'm looking forward to hearing the new album on February, 21th of 2020.
Hansi’s scream at 11:33 - almost perfectly replicating the original from when he was 20 years younger - proves we’re seeing Jesus at work. I love Bruce Dickinson but in his 50s he can’t come anywhere near to replicating the high notes from the early albums. Hansi is just on another level. Unbelievable.
Come on man, I love Hansi's voice but I wouldn't really call that a fair comparison considering Bruce Dickinson had and recovered from throat cancer and his voice hasn't been quite the same since. I'm sure if Hansi had throat cancer his voice would also suffer.
Dude, that's a bit of a cheap shot considering that Bruce had throat cancer. Also, Bruce is in his 60s and for him to be performing at a high level for his age is just fucking incredible. Have some respect!
I think Bruce what at his best in the early 2000s. He was a lot more theatrical and powerful sounding when he was younger, but he didn't have the control he acquired in his later years.
@@Ceabrus74 Yeah, Bruce has been a far better/smarter/more listenable singer this millennium than in the previous one despite losing some range and power. He could do a lot in the 80s but his artistic choices are endlessly better now.
Excellent show! The ending to fiddler on the green gave me goosebumps. Would have loved to hear when the crowd sang the bards song after this, but the video would have been too long
To put this into context: ~30 min earlier they played this song, however Hansi stopped the crow after like 2 min. Seemed like they forgot to plan in the obligatory 5+ min for the chorus.
I would have been properly losing my shit during Crimson King. I wonder if most in the audience were able to really appreciate the opportunity they just got to witness that. We have waited so long...
