It's funny that Chum is the only one getting skinner and smarter on this show.
He’s right about the fact that they can either sell it for around $4500-$5000 immediately or have it making money in the shop as a functional candy machine for the rest of it life, they might even make more money off the machine by selling candy from it than they would get by selling it

@@CrazyMoments728 this machine and the creativity of it will make people want to buy candy from it more than a normal vending machine though. It’ll convert customers who otherwise wouldn’t be.

Lmaooo, I think the vending machine was locked... So they took off the back piece to unlock it from inside. That's the only way they guy was able to open a locked vending machine. Of course it's TV so they didn't show that

I think they took the back cover off when cameras weren't rolling so he can do the "trick" that opened the door in the front.

The back was already off. They could already see inside it. You can see right through it when they take the front off.
Bruh it’s a wafer lock anything could open it. Just glare at it for thirty or forty seconds it’ll pop right open.
I love when Rick opens up the machine to take a look at the insides and they're all surprised like there isn't a giant hole in the back

I’m gonna side with Chum on this one. If I were him I’d work with Rick to keep it (in the shop?) even if it meant paying him the full cost plus a little extra. People love that kind of machine & would buy candy from it even if they don’t want candy.
Bad idea. People will Just Walk by cause they think it another Item for sale. In a regular shop however it will stand out and make people curios to try it out.

Rick's Restorations did an awesome job with it as always. You'd think the original would have had paint on the "Fresh Candy" letters on the front plate though that made it pop and attract people to it a little better.

They couldn't do what the history channel was asking for them to do. He explained it in a video I saw. he told his fans they didn't quit. That is when the network went in a new direction.I doubt we will see him on his own show any time soon again.
Chum is actually kind of cool once in a while
46,000 candy bars would make its money back. Given how popular the shop is and the low price for one at 10 cents, I don't imagine it would be that hard to make the money back on it.

My mom and dad owned a coin shop/pawn shop in NE Indiana. 1. rule for owner, point out all the problems 2. Play up the cost of restoration. I love watching this program because it reminds me things in my parents store.

I like it when people from another show I watch appear as guests. I am watching this and American Restoration from the start on TV. The first series must have been some years ago as in this episode Chumley looks so slim and Rick looks so old!

It's much better for Rick's Restoration now without a show as they've gained sufficient publicity. Both father and son never been that focused on more restoration projects these days, shooting shows will take up most of their time and will definitely fades away his passion, slowly but surely.
