First off, congrats on the blessing of your newborn. Hoping mama and baby are doing well. Hoping you are dong well as well. Speaking for myself, I am patient. Whenever you post new content, I am thankful for it. I know how much of a challenge it can be with a newborn. Just take your time, your subscribers will be here. My question regarding the navy blue double breasted blazer, is why do you prefer blue buttons and not gold buttons; did I miss a memo? LOL. In the past, I've purchased a navy DB blazer and had the buttons switched out to gold buttons to reinforce that "blazer look" distinction. I guess it's just a matter of preference. And I'd also like to know what was your initial motivation to dressing well? I did watch your earlier posts where you explained how and why, but was there any earlier role models you looked up that encouraged you? And as far as your faith and belief, continue leaning on our Lord and Savior. Change comes in time. I can attest to that. What sets us NY'ers apart, besides the obvious, is our speech and the way we use our profanity. It's a gift. LOL. But little by little, you'll use less and less, unless provoked. LOL. You know that old saying, "You can take the man out of NY, but you can't take the NY out of the man." LOL.
My man, Jay! Thank you for the well wishes. I just prefer the darker mood of the dark buttons. I like the brass button look but I find it more festive. When I was living alone in the Bronx, I made friends with this guy that worked the counter at the diner I frequently ate at. I’d tell him about my dating life and he took me down to midtown to hit up some goodwill stores. Being midtown Manhattan, we found QUALITY garments for a bargain. I was 29 at the time and I still felt like boy. It didn’t feel right referring to myself as a man. Dressing more like a man certainly helped to fix that perception of myself. The first time I saw the Neapolitan style with the big lapels and high rise trousers was on this guy (below). I was mesmerized.
